For a manufacturer of specialty electronics assembly materials (Indium Corporation of America - Clinton, NY): responsible for researching and analyzing customer and market data; facilitate customer and prospective customer business by ensuring that requirements are met; serve as a product line resource to internal departments including sales, operations, R and D and other marketing groups on matters requiring support with specific emphasis on business and data analytics; benchmark Indium’s technical data sheets to leading competitors and implement best practice and high value content to Indium’s literature; collect, compile and analyze global and regional market related data for use in strategic plan and day-to-day decision-making; develop knowledge proficiency in Indium products, markets and overall technology; query databases and utilize statistical computer languages (R, Python, SQL, etc.) for data wrangling purposes; perform data analysis and develop custom-designed reports consisting of internal historical data and forecasts; lead assigned projects and coordinate involvement of personnel from other departments and information technology groups; serve as an information resource and provide user training on reports development; research external data sources and generate reports; use existing software such as Excel with PowerPivot, Power Query and SQL to cleanse and maintain existing data tables; perform data visualizations and create a variety of interactive dashboards for the Sales & Marketing team on PowerBI; execute statistical methods to solve business problems; conduct data exploration to unravel unseen insights and correlations; function as liaison between Information Technology, the Sales Team, and other groups to communicate user needs, mitigate obstacles, and recommend enhancements to information systems and reports; work with product manager to audit and/or analyze pricing guidelines and recommend regional adjustments; support technical personnel in composing and publishing articles; support Marcom programs such as trade show selection and media relationships as requested; support R and D through beta site development and monitoring; and perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
Requirements.
1. Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Mathematics and Economics, Data Science or a related field.
2. 6 months of experience in the job offered or 6 months of experience in business analytics. The required experience must include data-driven business analytics, data mining, research, analytical and problem solving.
3. Proficiency in R, Python and Excel.
4. Knowledge of SQL.
Work Location: Clinton, NY.
Hours: 40 per week – Monday through Friday.
Salary: $63,000
