Description
As a Behavior Specialist, you will work with youth, families, and all team members in developing behavior plans and individualized crisis management plans. You will provide these services in the RTF, family homes, and community. You will report to the Residential Program Manager and will work onsite with community-based travel required.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in family planning and Child and Family Team meetings for each family as part of their RTF services.
- Create behavioral, crisis, and coping plans for each youth in the RTF. These plans include self-care plans, home crisis plans, coping plans, and ICSPs. Review and revise individual safety plans after every significant incident and at every treatment review.
- Monitor, create and report on incident and behavioral trend data to assist in assessing improvement or needs of youth, and family. Report monthly at team meetings or ad hoc as needed on youth.
- Offer ongoing mentoring and coaching to direct care staff in trauma-informed care and de-escalation techniques.
- Use ARC, andclinical knowledge to promote recovery-oriented, strength-based approaches in daily therapeutic activities.
- Review ICSP and complete staff Debrief in accordance with restraint policy.
- Work with families to implement behavior strategies in home and community settings to facilitate return to home and community.
- Collaborate with school staff on individualized behavior plans. Attend school meetings as assigned.
Requirements and Education:
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in a human services or related field with three years of experience working with children with serious emotional disturbance with mental health diagnosis.
- Certification in behavioral assessment preferred.
- Specialized training/expertise in the area of trauma-informed care, behavior planning, and crisis prevention is preferred.
- Must have a valid NYS driver's license.
- Must be able to lift 35 pounds.

As a Foster Care Home Finder, you will recruit, train, certify, and maintain foster and pre-adoptive foster homes to children from birth through age 21 who have been removed from their homes and placed in foster care. Each foster parent receives training and ongoing professional support to promote a positive, successful experience. Clinician, Intensive Aftercare Prevention Program
Licensed Social Workers or Mental Health Professionals are eligible for $7500 signing bonus!

As a Clinician in the Intensive Aftercare Prevention program (IAPP), you will provide six to nine months of intensive services to families whose children are either at risk of being removed from their homes or are already in placement. The goals of the program are to prevent out-of-home placement for troubled children, provide a safe environment to return children already in placement, and prevent future out-of-home placement. You will report to the Program Coordinator and you will work a combination of on-site and remote with travel to client's homes required. This is a Monday - Friday position with some evening hours required to support client needs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide home and community-based assessment, planning and treatment with individuals, groups and families with those enrolled in our Family Preservation services (the level of intensity / number of direct services hours per family is dependent upon the services in which one is employed)
- Complete necessary all records and client information following agency, county, and state policy and funding requirements
- Provide liaison contact with collateral resources such as referring agencies, schools, family court, and other agency personnel serving on behalf of a child and family as it relates to their treatment
- Responsible for the clinical decisions when assigned and paired to work as a team with a Bachelors Clinical Case Manager.

Job Summary | The Department of Biological Sciences at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Computational Ecology. We seek a passionate and innovative individual who uses sophisticated computational methods and/or mathematical modeling applied to large and complex datasets to understand and/or forecast biological and ecological phenomena across time and space. Description
Clinician, Prevention - Per Diem
As a Per Diem Clinician within our Schenectady County Prevention Programs, your primary program will be the Sexual Abuse Treatment Program (SATP) and other home and community- based programming if needed. With SATP, you will provide assessment and treatment to child victims of sexual abuse and non-offending parents. You will provide coverage for team vacancies, leaves, and other coverage needs within SATP as determined by client and program needs. This program helps children and non-offending family members in Schenectady County heal from the damaging effects of child sexual abuse. The program’s goal is to reduce the trauma experienced by each family member and to help the family adjust and reorganize in a manner to help ensure the healthy development and ongoing protection of the child. You will report to the Program Coordinator and work onsite to provide therapy services at our SATP office; there is the opportunity to complete documentation remotely.
If needed, you will also provide assessment and treatment services within our home and community-based Prevention programs in Schenectady County to assist with vacancies, leaves, or other coverage needs. Your total hours worked will be up to 19.75 hours per week, depending upon the needs of the program.
Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and family therapy to child victims of sexual abuse and their families.
- Participate in and conduct sexual abuse evaluations.
- Prepare for and provide expert witness testimony in Family Court.
- Complete paperwork within the agency, county, and state guidelines.
- Use the NYS OCFS Connections database for all record-keeping.
- Coordinate services with Schenectady County DSS, service providers, and collaterals involved with each youth and their family.
- If needed, also provide home and community-based assessment and treatment services within our Schenectady County Prevention programs.
Requirements and Education:
- Master's degree with a New York State License in one of the mental health-related fields such as social work or mental health counseling (will accept applicants who are license eligible, have a limited permit, and working toward licensure).
- Three or more years of experience in the child and family services sector is preferred.
- A valid NYS driver’s license.

This position is responsible for providing clinical services to all Day Treatment clients and their families according to program and regulatory guidelines, ensuring that all services are strengths-based, individualized, and comprehensive according to need.
Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned. Employees are expected to be awake and alert while working.
• Assess individual and family situations with a focus on school success.
• Identify problem areas, treatment goals, and methods to attain goals leading to improved performance at school.
• Assist school personnel when behavioral situations occur involving students on your caseload.
• Work with the education team and local school district to develop a comprehensive Individual Education Plan and to monitor the ongoing progress of the child and family.
• Provide therapeutic services to children and families using differential modalities.
• Work with an interdisciplinary team to develop a comprehensive treatment plan and to monitor the ongoing progress of the child and family.
• Work with referring and collateral agencies and prepare reports and correspondence as needed.
• Record and maintain case records in accordance with agency OMH, DOE, and other state mandates.
• Participate in intake assessments as assigned.

The successful candidate will join Lally as a tenure-track assistant professor. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated potential and commitment to effective teaching in our graduate and undergraduate courses in basic and advanced topics in organizational behavior and leadership, as well as provide service to the Lally School of Management and to Rensselaer. As a Residential Assistant Supervisor, you will supervise staff who provide daily therapeutic care and programming according to agency policy and governing body standards and requirements. You will report to the Residential Supervisor and you will work onsite.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise program activity which will lead to the attainment of goals described within treatment plans
- Supervise and evaluate the work of residential staff assigned to residential programs.
- Work shifts on the unit as assigned, which could include variable shifts (several days and several evenings each week)
- Work as one of the staff within the staff-to-youth ratio on the unit
- Work as a role model for newer, less experienced staff

- Teach and ensure all staff members treat all youth, family members, collaterals, neighbors, and the general public with respect and dignity at all times. Everyone should be spoken to in a calm, rational voice, without rancor.
- Maintain the physical order of the building and therapeutic environment of the units
- Develop and maintain schedules within the assigned campus residential unit
- Help evaluate youth referred to the Agency for residential care
- Participate in the appropriate on call system
- Participate in the financial responsibilities of the residential unit following established guidelines
- Participate in and organize program and agency wide special events and services
- Oversee and transport clients for medical, mental health, and other essential needs
- Work with clinical staff to coordinate the implementation of treatment plans in the milieu
- Assist in crisis intervention
Requirements and Education:
- Requires an Associate’s degree plus three years of experience, Bachelor’s degree preferred, OR HS plus at least five years of experience required.
- Related experience with vulnerable populations and older adolescent population is required.
- Must have supervisory experience or demonstrated ability to manage a residential unit.
- Required to maintain TCI certification.
- A valid driver’s license and meet agency insurability standards for using agency vehicles and transporting youth.
- Must pass physical.

Home Based Crisis Intervention Specialist
Work related travel reimbursed at predetermined rates
As a Home-based Crisis Intervention (HBCI) Specialist, you will support families and youth in crisis by providing in-home services. You will assist families in implementing behavior management techniques and crisis de-escalation skills with their children and support children in communicating their needs.
As part of the HBCI team, you will provide short-term (up to 6 weeks), intensive intervention to youth and families who are in crisis.You will work with parents and caregivers to help them help their children.Your work will produce meaningful outcomes in a short period of time.
You will report to the HBCI Team Lead, and work Monday – Friday. You will also be available for on-call crisis support by phone for your caseload. You will work a hybrid schedule which includes working with clients in their homes, and the opportunity to work remotely to complete administrative tasks in your own home or from our offices. You will attend weekly team meetings onsite, and other larger team meetings.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to the needs of families in crisis and deliver crisis intervention services in home-based environment with flexible scheduling.
- Promote safety of the child, family, and community in the delivery of crisis intervention services.
- Tailor services and flexibly schedule sessions based on family member’s needs.
- Conduct comprehensive assessment of family strengths, values, skills, problems, needs, barriers to goal completion and collaborate in goal setting and service planning.
- Use a variety of teaching methods to help family members acquire, maintain and generalize skills.
- Advocate for and provide concrete services and supports and teach family members to meet their concrete needs.
- Collaborate and advocate with formal and information community resources and systems that impact family while teaching family members to advocate for themselves. Prepare family for transition and service closure.
- Provide consultation to intra-agency service providers and to community service providers. Maintain appropriate liaisons and relationships with external and internal providers, as this relates to County Mental Health Departments working with the HBCI.
- Fulfill all program-reporting requirements.
- Participate in the Continuous Quality Improvement process and provide leadership in the collection of data and the formulation of recommendations and conclusions as assigned.
Requirements and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s Degree with 1-year relevant experience in community-based health or case management, or Master’s degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling.
- LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT or LCAT licensure preferred.
- Experience in the Homebuilder model of crisis intervention is preferred.
- Must have a valid NYS driver's license.
