SOCIAL WORKER (DSS)

Jefferson County is seeking a Social Worker in the Department of Social Services. The work involves responsibility for providing professional social work services primarily working with the Child Protective, Preventive, Foster Care, and Intake cases in children's services, as well as providing consultative services to the agency Caseworkers and other staff.

Salary Range: $30.93 - $39.40 per hour.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

MEDICAL EXAMINER Jefferson County Public Health Service is seeking a Medical Examiner to become a Member of their team. The position involves responsibility for investigating and rendering decisions on causes of unnatural and unattended deaths in the County including performing autopsies and determining postmortem diagnoses on the basis of clinical, pathological, toxicological and tissue findings.

Tax Map Technician

Jefferson County Real Property Tax Services is seeking a Tax Map Technician to perform skilled drafting and related office and field work in the preparation and maintenance of tax maps with the responsibility for the accurate plotting and mapping of property line changes and maintenance of related records, experience with GIS and AutoCAD a plus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Either:

  (A)  Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an associate's degree in civil engineering or drafting or a related field; OR

  (B)  Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and two years experience in drafting, tax map preparation or surveying work involving laying out or mapping property lines; OR

  (C)  An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of both (A) and (B) above.

Salary: $21.82 - $26.79/hr. (2024 rate)
