JOB PURPOSE:
Design, enhance, and maintain all aspects of the Midco Business Network.
KEY FUNCTIONS:
- Engineer and design the Business Network to meet customer demand.
- Leads technical projects, upgrades, and deployments.
- Support, maintain and upgrade existing Business Network. Install new hardware to stay ahead of customer demand.
- Execute test plans to facilitate vendor selection for new Business product offerings.
- Develop MOPs and tools to ease the deployment of new service orders and network configurations.
- Evaluate new vendor hardware and software.
- Work on customer trouble tickets and resolve outages on the Business Network.
- Work with vendors for design, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Participate in an on-call rotation.
- Mentor intra/inter-departmental peers.
- Use knowledge and analytics to improve the Business network and processes.

- Cisco hardware and software knowledge.
- Knowledge on packet capture setup and analysis.

- Working knowledge of network protocols and technologies including TCP/IP, OSI Model, IPv4, IPv6, SIP, IP Video, ACL’s, Spanning Tree, MP-BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, IS-IS, MPLS, MPLS-TE, L2VPN, L3VPN, H-QoS, SD-WAN and transport technologies.
- Working knowledge of network monitoring and management tools including, SolarWinds, AKIPS, WAE, NSO, NETCONF, YANG, syslog and telemetry.
- Must be able to travel when necessary.
- Operate and drive a Company vehicle in accordance with all Midco policies including maintaining a safe driving record.
- Compile timely, comprehensive, and accurate reports as requested.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Network Engineer I:
• Associate’s degree in related industry and/or equivalent work experience required.
• Minimum 7 years relevant experience required. Previous experience in telecommunications industry.

Network Engineer II:
- Associate’s degree in related industry and/or equivalent work experience required.

JOB PURPOSE:
