Senior Electron Gun Engineer

Job Description: Cathode, Electron Gun Engineer

DUTIES: Responsible for engineering and designing electron and ion beam devices including cathodes, electron and ion guns and related vacuum devices including developing production fabrication techniques, assembly procedures, processing and testing. The testing could include Hi Pot, thermal data at several temperatures near and at operating temperatures, beam extraction to show proper operation as well as full beam generation power the designed specification including high voltage.

Preferred job experience includes some or all the items below;

  • Operation of and processing cathodes and electron guns and ion guns.
  • Developing production procedures for all aspects of gun building.
  • Use of electrical equipment, power supplies, pulse generators as well as design and implementation of high voltage splitter circuits to power electron gun electrodes, etc.
  • Beam optics development/design, multiple electrodes as required.
  • Beam steering design and implementation of devices and controllers.
  • Development of procedures for operating above equipment as well as safety standards.
  • Work in in a team environment to ensure the highest quality standards.
  • Work with attention to detail.
    Assemble vacuum electronic and mechanical components into subassemblies and finished products.
  • Clean room environment assembly of precision devices
  • Ensure product meets design specifications and applicable standards.
  • Design and help prepare a safe product packaging for shipment to customers.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of 2 years related experience. BS in ME/EE minimum, MS in ME/EE preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Office, CAD, Teams and related computer software is required.  Worked in a lab environment exhibiting excellent attention to detail with experience in product assembly, using hand tools, power tools and pneumatic tools preferred.  Also required;

- good manual dexterity, with excellent hand-eye coordination

- able to work with magnification tools to perform delicate work.

- Good written and verbal communication skills.

- Good organizational skills.

- Exhibit a positive attitude
