We are looking to immediately hire skilled installers for a high traffic residential and light commercial glass shop in Ithaca. Duties include, but are not limited to: measuring, cutting, and installing glass in homes and businesses according to the work orders provided, assembling and fitting glass in various style windows, sliding doors, display cases, bathroom units, and other home or commercial structures.

Candidate should possess (or be willing to learn) detailed knowledge of the glass cutting process, have good hand-eye coordination, be able to lift heavy objects, and have excellent communication skills.

Willing to train the right candidate-- MUST HAVE contracting, carpentry, or other skilled trade experience that requires proficiency with measurements and attention to detail

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• Interpreting work orders to determine the shape, size, color and thickness of glass for ordering and installation procedures.
• Measuring and marking accurate lines or patterns on glass before cutting.
• Cutting glass to size and specifications in the workshop and on the job site.
• Cutting and removing broken glass prior to new installation.
• Cleaning the job area once glass has been installed and the client is satisfied.

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience working as a glazier or commercial glazier preferred. Will train the right candidate with experience in contracting, carpentry or any other skilled trade related to the job requirements
• Ability to lift heavy objects.
• A high level of attention to detail.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination.
• Good communication skills.
• Professional demeanor
• Valid driver’s license
