Description

Behavioral Health Clinician

MSWs with their Limited Permit are eligible for a $2,500 signing bonus!

Licensed Social Workers are eligible for a $7,500 signing bonus!

As a Clinician for the Behavioral Health Center, you will work as part of an interdisciplinary team with the underserved populations in our community by providing clinical counseling to individuals, families and couples in an outpatient mental health clinic licensed by the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH).At the Albany County Probation site, you will focus on screening children and adolescents for mental health needs as well as case management and collaboration with the probation team to ensure connection to appropriate services in the community. You will report to the Director of Behavioral Health and will work onsite, with your hours divided between two locations, the Behavioral Health Center at New Karner in Albany and the Albany County Probation Department, Juvenile Services Office.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of clients aged birth to 65, providing comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and individual and family therapy services to those assigned to caseload.
  • Create initial treatment plans, subsequent treatment plan reviews, progress notes for each scheduled appointment, and other documentation/assessments as indicated.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with current community resources and assist with referrals for such services.
  • Attend Behavioral Health Center staff meeting twice a month.
  • Attend and participate in Supervision; weekly, bi-weekly or monthly based on licensure level or individual needs.
  • Hours require one evening a week until 8 pm.

Requirements and Education:

  • Requires a Master’s degree, MSW or equivalent.
  • Must be licensed prior to starting, or be willing to apply for a permit upon hire. LMSW, LCSW, or LCSW-R preferred.
  • Required to pass licensing exam within six months of employment if working with a limited permit.
  • Valid, clean driver’s license is required.
