Description
As a Case Manager, Regional Permanency Resource Center you will provide supportive services and case management services to adoptive, guardianship and kinship families so they are able to make informed decisions with regards to services and supports that best meet their needs. You will report to the Case Manager Supervisor. You will work in a hybrid environment with some travel to client's homes in the community.
Responsibilities:
- Function as a systems navigator to families who have adopted or who have children in guardianship or kinship care through the provision of case management.
- Meet with families in their home to assess needs
- Assess needs, conduct service planning, service plan implementation, service coordination, monitoring and follow-up, reassessment and review with the family via in-home or community monthly visits. Services include but are not limited to information and referral services; referral to legal services; attendance at family court dates; transportation; housing assistance; childcare; basic family needs (vital needs in emergencies and with expenses that are unforeseen); educational advocacy services; and facilitating appointments with social services, medical health providers, and mental health services.
- Respond to the request for in home support referrals for resources and services
- Provide crisis intervention supports when needed
- Work with family to access needed respite services
- Conduct follow up contacts with families at prescribed intervals
- Participate in family engagement activities
- Co-lead support groups
- Participate in training programs offered by the program as assigned
- Use lived experience to empathize and provide hope. Preference for someone with experience with kinship, adoption or guardianship as a youth or in a parenting role.
- Maintain records including required data collection information according to the program standards and expectations. Case Managers must maintain Evolv record with progress notes and all pertinent documentation, a discharge summary and post-case closure documentation.
- Participate as a trainer in programs in the community, to increase understanding of the needs of families who have adopted or have children in guardianship or kinship care
- Complete risk assessments as required by Northern Rivers Quality Management Department
Requirements and Education:
- Bachelor’s level degree in social work, psychology, or human services, or a bachelor’s level degree in any field with at least two years of case management experience; or an associate’s level degree in psychology or human services with at least two years of case management experience.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and develop positive working relationships
- A valid NYS drivers license

Description
Per Diem Clinician, Permanency Resource Center (PRC)
As a Per Diem Clinician, you will provide trauma-informed family therapy, child therapy, group therapy, and crisis intervention as indicated to individuals, families and groups in a Permanency Resource Center. This can include outpatient individual or family therapy, group therapy, consultation to caregivers, and support to case managers. Work is designed to be short-term but will follow the needs of the family as written in their service plan. You will be assigned between 2 and 15 cases. Therapy is to be provided in the community or in office, and is paid for by the program, not through insurance reimbursement. You will report to the Licensed Clinician and you will work in a hybrid model with community-based travel required.
Responsibilities:
- Provision of outpatient therapy remotely or in person with youth or caregivers within the Permanency Resource Center system.
- Document the contact within the Evolv system.
- Attend and participate in individual supervision on at least a monthly basis and more frequently if the acuity of the assigned cases requires this.
- Provide therapeutic services to individuals assigned to case load.
- Provide case management services as clinically indicated.
- Provide referral, collateral and linkage services.
- Record and maintain case records according to program standards.
Requirements and Education:
- A Master’s degree in one of the healing arts.
- A minimum of a limited permit in social work, family therapy, mental health counseling, or the healing arts.
- A valid NYS driver's license.

Respite Workers Needed in Albany for Youth in care.
Per Diem (As Needed) Shift
As a Respite Worker for the Permanency Resource Center, you will provide respite services to youth in adoptive, guardianship and kinship families. Respite may also be available to families as part of the service plan and can occur at parent support groups or other PRC events and will be designed to be consistent with the children's needs and interests. Outings or activities with individual youth will be coordinated with the supervisor and parent. Respite provided as part of a group activity at a support group will be designed to allow parents the opportunity to have time separate from their children while they attend a support group. You will report to the Case Manager Supervisor or designated supervisor at the event. You will work onsite with youth in the community.
Responsibilities:
- Provide supervision for youth while parents attend support group.
- Provide respite as assigned to a youth as part of their service plan which can include activities in the community or in the youth’s home if that is the agreed upon plan.
- Participate in family engagement activities to provide added support to youth.

Job Summary | The Program Administrator, Sr manages activities of the Center of Excellence in Digital Game Development at RPI, also known as the Digital Gaming Hub, administered through the Games and Simulation Arts and Sciences Program in the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences. Job Summary | The Assistant Director (AD) of Student Activities is responsible for planning, facilitating and assisting in the coordination of student club programs on campus. POSITION OVERVIEW
School Based Clinician
As a Clinician, you will work collaboratively with the school district and as part of an interdisciplinary team with identified students, by providing clinical counseling to the youth and their family in an outpatient mental health clinic, licensed by the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH), imbedded within the School Building. You will report to the Director of the Behavioral Health Center and you will work onsite.
Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively with the school district to identify and treat a caseload of students with mental health needs providing a comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and individual and family therapy services to those assigned to caseload.
Create initial treatment plans, subsequent treatment plan reviews, progress notes for each scheduled appointment, and other documentation and assessments as indicated.
Collaborate with the associated clinic prescriber, other medical and mental health providers, school staff and any other community supports for client care.
Attend school-based Behavioral Health Center staff meeting once a month.
Attend and participate in supervision; weekly, bi-weekly or monthly based on licensure level or individual needs.
Provide referrals and linkages to community supports, resources, and services.
Requirements and Education:
Master's degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counselor.
Experience in human services, case management, line staff at a residential program, or any other related direct care within human services, both pre and post master degree, will be considered.
License and/or Limited Permit eligible, have a limited permit in discipline or Fully Licensed (LMHC/LCSW/LCSW-R), preferred.
Good standing with the NYS Office of the Professions.

As a Skillbuilder, you will provide targeted skill training to help with independent living and social skills. Goals that the Skill Builder will work on could be Career Planning, Self-Care, Daily Living, Housing, and Money Management, including establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships, how to accept no as an answer, handling conflict with peers and authority figures, and using their coping skills when feeling dysregulated. - At a minimum, 50% of the work week is spent face-to-face with clients to provide services designated in the Treatment Plan.
- Provide services based on the youth's needs and preferences as identified in the Treatment Plan.

As a Peer Advocate, you will in the Permanency Resource Center to assist adoptive, guardianship and kinship/custodial families and case managers in helping families and youth access services. As a Clinician, you will work as part of an interdisciplinary team with the underserved populations in our community by providing clinical counseling to individuals, families and couples in an outpatient mental health clinic licensed by the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH). You will report to the Director of the Behavioral Health Center. Sessions may be conducted in the office or via Tele-mental Health as clinically indicated.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of clients aged birth to 65, providing comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and individual and family therapy services to those assigned to caseload.
- Create initial treatment plans, subsequent treatment plan reviews, progress notes for each scheduled appointment, and other documentation/assessments as indicated.
- Collaborate with on-site prescriber, other medical and mental health providers, schools and any other community supports for client care.
- Attend Behavioral Health Center staff meeting twice a month.
- Attend and participate in Supervision; weekly, bi-weekly or monthly based on licensure level or individual needs.
- Provide referrals and linkages to community supports, resources, and services.
Requirements and Education:
- Master's degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counselor.

Job Summary | The International Exchange Specialist provides immigration advising and assistance for all J-1 visa holding visiting scholars and their dependents. The Specialist assists the Director with institutional compliance as related to the Exchange Visitors; including, reporting and monitoring data in the Student and Immigration Visitor Information System (SEVIS) and in Terra Dotta software. As a Peer Support Specialist, you will be a member of the Mobile Team, assisting the clinicians on Mobile visits and providing support and advocacy to individuals in crisis. - Manage a caseload of clients aged birth to 65, providing comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and individual and family therapy services to those assigned to caseload.
- Create initial treatment plans, subsequent treatment plan reviews, progress notes for each scheduled appointment, and other documentation/assessments as indicated.
- Collaborate with on-site prescriber, other medical and mental health providers, schools and any other community supports for client care.
- Attend Behavioral Health Center staff meeting twice a month.
- Attend and participate in Supervision; weekly, bi-weekly or monthly based on licensure level or individual needs.

Requirements and Education:
- Master's degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counselor.

Description
Are you looking to make a difference in the lives of youth and families struggling with behavioral health issues? Do you want to develop and supervise your own team and mentor your staff to improve their clinical skills? As the Team Lead of Home Based Crisis Intervention (HBCI), you will provide clinical supervision, support, and mentorship to your team to help them change lives. The HBCI team provides short-term (up to 6 weeks), intensive intervention to youth and families who are in crisis. We work with parents and caregivers to help them help their children. The short-term format means the work is fast-paced and outcome oriented, which means you and your team will produce meaningful outcomes in a short period of time. You will report to the Chief of Crisis Services and work on-site with travel required.
Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical supervision to the team and be responsible for allocation of staff time; provide training and ensure all team members are kept informed of issues.
- Monitor caseload size and coordinate program intakes and discharges.
- Create rotating call schedule for after-hours / weekend coverage by team members.
- Provide education and outreach to the community about HBCI at Northern Rivers; philosophy, program outcomes, theoretical background etc.
- Develop collaborative relationships with other agencies, schools, hospitals, primary care providers, and local government agencies to help meet the needs of this population so they can achieve and maintain their independence.
- Assist primary clinicians to conduct needs assessments, safety planning and wellness management planning with participants. Connect participants and families with the services and support they need. Provide psychoeducation regarding mental health diagnosis and treatment. Develop treatment using a shared decision-making process with clients.
- Assist primary clinicians to respond to on-call needs of families in crisis and deliver crisis intervention services in home-based environment with flexible scheduling cognizant of family needs, with 24/7 availability nights, weekends and holidays.
- Promote safety of the child, family, and community in the delivery of crisis intervention services.
- Assist primary clinicians to conduct comprehensive assessment of family strengths, values, skills, problems, need and barriers to goal attainment while developing a positive working relationship with the families.
- Collaborate and advocate with formal and information community resources and systems that impact family while teaching family members to advocate for themselves and prepare them for transition and service closure.
Requirements and Education:
- Requires a Master’s degree and at least one year of progressively responsible related experience. Experience in a home-based and/or crisis intervention services program. Candidates with training in the Homebuilder model of crisis intervention are preferred.
- Must be a licensed mental health professional. These include, but are not limited to: Licensed Psychologists, Licensed Clinical/Masters Social Workers, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, Licensed Mental Health Counselors, or Licensed Creative Arts Therapist.

Job Summary | The Director of Real Estate directs all activities associated with land management/leases; real estate revenue activities; building and land acquisition/sales; building and land appraisals; all Rensselaer property-related tax payments; Rensselaer tax exemption requirements; and special activities, that include leases and subleases of external facilities, fraternity/sorority land/building leases and finances; estate activities and community issues. About EMPAC | Curtis R. Priem Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center “The concert hall of the 21st century has arrived. But in addition, the huge building, laid out on a hillside, houses a 400-seat theater with comparable versatility; two black-box studios, one geared more toward sound, the other toward sight; and space for rehearsals and other uses. And for their electronic and data needs, all these components have access to one of the world’s biggest supercomputers.” The New York Times (10/08/2008) At the Curtis R. Priem Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center (EMPAC) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (Institute), the arts, sciences, and technology meet under one roof in four exceptional venues. This incredible 220,000 square foot building, designed by London-based Grimshaw Architects, opened in 2008 and is an unmatched model of acoustics, infrastructure, and architectural engineering with state-of-the-art performing arts infrastructure and architectural engineering. EMPAC’s concert hall features 1,165 seats with the ability to sculpt the acoustical soundscape for musical performances and equipment for screens, projections, and staging elements. The Goodman Studio/Theater and Studio 2 are versatile spaces that can be used to create immersive experiences utilizing both projection and sound technology. EMPAC’s theater features computer-controlled rigging, a sixty-foot fly tower, and advanced recording audio and video recording technology. Beyond the four core venues, EMPAC houses residency studios, research offices, green room, soloists/conductor suites, changing rooms, and the main lobby level, as well as café and mezzanine levels, which are often used by students as studying and meeting spaces. EMPAC currently commissions, presents, and researches interdisciplinary time-based visual art and the entire range of performing arts genres. It is on the precipice of its next era as a local, regional, and global research entity and destination in exploring the industry and market in which the EMPAC business model exists and how it will evolve. EMPAC will embrace how its purpose deeply aligns with the Institute’s Rensselaer Forward strategic plan in its 2024 Bicentennial and over the next 10 years with strategic themes embedded in Education, Research, Translation, Regional Engagement, and Welcoming & Inclusive Community. The Institute’s strategic goals include becoming the premier arts and creativity-driven science and engineering university; creating a robust and holistic learning community focused on the generation and discovery of new knowledge, processes, and products at the interface of science, technology, and arts; and leading a renewal of and integration with the Capital Region. Curatorial Activities Artists-in-residence work with EMPAC’s technological resources in order to produce work at the center, often planned years in advance. Artist residencies are uniquely tailored to each individual artist, and members of the EMPAC production staff are deeply involved in the development of artistic ideas of the residencies. Artists in residence share their artistic research through the process, and visitors can also engage in experiences ranging from theater productions, concerts, and installations to an interdisciplinary program of screening, talks, and workshops. EMPAC resources are used for research by the Institute’s community and otherwise are utilized for meetings, workshops, and symposia. The unique polyvocal curatorial programs at EMPAC lead to the creation of diverse time-based artworks and hundreds of artists have created and presented their new works that foster deep artistic inquiry and audience engagement. The artistic projects are supported in depth over extended periods of time, allowing the artists to fully realize their visions using the exceptional technological infrastructure and the expertise of the EMPAC staff. Collaboration with other institutions, presenters, and museums is key to EMPAC’s goal of expanding audiences and connecting more deeply to the on-campus and external communities it serves. Research Initiatives In addition to its curatorial program, EMPAC is the center of robust research initiatives driven by Institute students, faculty, and staff from all five schools. Using the venues and with the support of EMPAC’S professional experts, researchers are supported in work centered on the questions of understanding human sensory experience, communication, and interaction with computing systems. From student work to research and performance opportunities, extracurricular clubs to special events, EMPAC offers a range of ways for Institute students to be involved. Since 2020, EMPAC has also been part of the Google Arts & Culture project, allowing visitors to enjoy stories on various topics, including the building’s design and construction and spatial audio and wave field synthesis. While EMPAC is independent of any individual school of study, it plays a critical role in centering the Institute in the international discourse around arts, science, and technology.

Job Summary | The Executive Director of EMPAC will guide and deliver on its mission and vision as a global center at the intersection of the arts, science, and technology. They will be accountable for a strategic direction, business model, and adaptive change that are in alignment with the Institute’s Rensselaer Forward plan, including the goal to create the most welcoming and inclusive community possible for faculty, staff, students, and the external community EMPAC serves. The Executive Director will maintain a presence both on and off campus by actively participating in the community and establishing international visibility at relevant conferences and other events that increase exposure and access to artists that could curate, produce, or be presented by EMPAC. These activities are focused on preserving an integrated interdisciplinary pedagogical approach to research, programs, and campus events that inspire active participation by faculty and students in and attendance at EMPAC. The Executive Director will partner with each of the School Deans and Institute Administration to coordinate student learning outcomes, activating EMPAC as a hub for student learning on campus. They will oversee, inspire, and collaborate with a dedicated staff while investing in them and securing the resources that ensure EMPAC remains at the forefront of technological advancements. In collaboration with Institute Advancement and the President, the Executive Director will establish and maintain a portfolio of donor relationships that support the capital and operating needs of EMPAC, including its facilities, programs, and research. Additionally, the Executive Director will spearhead plans with the Office of Community Engagement and Communications to engage with local and regional organizations, as well as too raise the unique profiles of both EMPAC and the Institute in the region and on national and international levels. EMPAC’s core annual operating budget in fiscal 2024 is $4.6 million with additional expenses embedded in the Institute’s operational structure, and it has approximately 40 full-time staff. The current direct reports to the EMPAC Executive Director include Associate Director (Arts), Associate Director (Research), Director (Stage Technologies), Lead Audio Engineer, Senior Business Administrator, Senior Systems Administrator, Manager (Communications & Grants), Manager (Design Communications), and Manager (Administrative Operations). |
Qualifications | Qualifications The successful candidate will have a minimum of a master’s degree, or equivalent experience, and 8-10 years of senior management expertise in commissioning, promoting, programming, producing, and/or presenting contemporary music, theater, dance, multi-media, or other experimental creative industry initiatives. A comprehensive understanding of associated production, capacity utilization (both venue and staff), audience development, and venue management is important. Although experience in an academic environment is helpful, those with demonstrable results in nonprofit or corporate structures are welcome to pursue this unique opportunity. Exceptional relationship management, donor cultivation, and creative industries expertise with leading producers and artists at the national and international level is preferred. The capacity to work flexible hours on evenings and weekends is required in best serving the needs of numerous stakeholders. Job Summary | The Economic and Industry Analyst will analyze and make recommendations for progress of the sustainable fashion industry, from farms and new materials to processing to brands and design, in New York State and in general (in the U.S. and worldwide). The Analyst will review and keep abreast of pertinent studies and research, and will seek information from industry data sources, carry out interviews and surveys, and analyze and interpret the information. The work is based at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute as part of the Fashion Innovation Center (FIC). The Analyst will interact with FIC members and participants to learn about the industry, discuss sustainable fashion industry problems and potential solutions, consider ways to advance the industry in New York State, and document relevant information and findings in report, paper, and/or book form. The Analyst will also provide suggestions where relevant to innovative project participants in the FIC’s accelerator. The Analyst will work closely with the Center Director and other FIC members. |

Position Purpose:Plays a pivotal role within the College Relations department, responsible for overseeing the efficient utilization and maintenance of the constituent management system. Manages gift, pledge, and receipt processes in compliance with internal revenue service, financial accounting standards regulations, payment card industry security council, the council for advancement and support of education guidelines, and auditors' requirements.
- Strategic Alignment: Acts as the primary liaison for College Relations with Finance and Information Technology Services (ITS) to foster collaboration and ensure strategic alignment. Including working closely with Finance on aligning financial reporting periods, fund reconciliations, review of gift processes and controls, and auditing schedules, and working with ITS to ensure CR systems operate effectively and met all data security requirements and ensure
- Staff Management: Promotes a culture of excellence, teamwork, and collaboration among staff, providing clear direction, setting priorities, and fostering a supportive environment for professional growth. Qualifications:

Artwork wrapping, labeling, and transporting around campus. Inputs artwork locations into a spreadsheet or the collections management system. Carefully handles artworks during wrapping, moving, and storing processes.
Qualifications:
- Attention to detail and the ability to accurately label artwork with inventory numbers, artist, and title information, as well as input in spreadsheets and database formats.

POSITION OVERVIEW
As a Skillbuilder, you will provide targeted skill training to help with independent living and social skills. Goals that the Skill Builder will work on could be Career Planning, Self-Care, Daily Living, Housing, and Money Management, including establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships, how to accept no as an answer, handling conflict with peers and authority figures, and using their coping skills when feeling dysregulated. You will report to the Program Coordinator and you will work onsite.
Responsibilities:
- At a minimum, 50% of the work week is spent face-to-face with clients to provide services designated in the Treatment Plan.
- Provide services based on the youth's needs and preferences as identified in the Treatment Plan.
- Work with treatment team members to identify goals and objectives of treatment, including youth, families, school, and counselors.
- Complete all required documentation and submit it to the Supervisor within the required timeframes.
- Ability to work with diverse consumers who have mental health challenges and may be developmentally delayed. Understand their independent living needs to work with the case manager to find resources in the community for educational and vocational skills and programming for discharge.

Director of Accommodative Services

Supervisor: Director of Counseling Center
Position Purpose: Leads the Accommodative Services Office at Union College, providing strategic direction and overseeing day-to-day operations to support students with disabilities. Sets department goals, establishes organizational structures, develops policies and procedures, educates stakeholders, and supervises staff to ensure effective delivery of services. Advocates for students with disabilities, determines and coordinates accommodations, and promotes inclusivity within the campus community.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Leadership and Program Management: Oversees the Accommodative Services Office, establishing goals, crafting policies, and guaranteeing adherence to pertinent legislation such as Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act. Chairs the Committee on Special Housing to assess and decide on special housing requests, including assigning single housing units and emotional support animals.
- Student Support and Advocacy: Collaborates with students to evaluate their requirements, coordinates accommodations, and devises initiatives to meet their needs. Champions students’ rights and enlightens the campus community about disability-related matters. Works closely with campus departments to facilitate accommodations for temporary disabilities, medical needs, housing, and mental health.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration: Engages with faculty, staff, students, parents, and community members to advise on disability services, legal rights, and accommodations. Collaborates with college attorneys, consultants, deans, and faculty to address concerns and ensure compliance. Supports students in study abroad programs and graduate school applications by providing required paperwork and ensuring their needs are accommodated.
Qualifications:
- A master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling, psychology, education, student affairs, higher education administration, or a related field is required.
- Must possess a minimum of seven (7) years of leadership experience in developing, coordinating, and managing disability-related services, preferably within a higher education setting.
- Comprehensive knowledge of legislation and practice concerning disabilities, including Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, the ADA Amendments (ADAAA) of 2008, and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

Compensation
The annual salary range this position is $80,000.00-$90,000.00. Clinical Case Manager, Intensive Family Empowerment Program
As a Clinical Case Manager in the Intensive Family Empowerment Program, you will provide six to nine months of intensive services to families whose children are either at risk of being removed from their homes or are already in placement. The goals of the program are to prevent out-of-home placement for troubled children, provide a safe environment to return children already in placement, and prevent future out-of-home placement. You will report to the Program Coordinator and will work in a combination of on-site and remote settings with travel to client's homes required.

- Provide home and community services to the identified youth and their caregiver as prescribed in the treatment plan for those enrolled in our Family Preservation Services.
- Educate parents and their child in a variety of social-emotional and parenting skills such as communication, discipline, anger management, emotional regulation, attunement, caregiver affect management, decision making, problem-solving, social skill building, budgeting, family and home organization, behavioral management, etc.
- Maintain a caseload of three children.
- Complete and maintain appropriate case records through the completion of intake, assessments, progress notes, reports, etc. following agency, county, and state policy and funding requirements.
- Participate in the comprehensive assessment and creation of the treatment plan for assigned cases to determine and address service needs and ensure the provision of regular treatment plan meetings and service plan reviews.
- Provide liaison contact with collateral resources such as referring agencies, schools, family courts, and other agency personnel serving on behalf of a child and family as it relates to their treatment.
- You will work Monday through Friday with a flexible schedule that includes evenings and a rotating on-call schedule.

Billing:
- Process monthly billing for ITS activities and track receipt of payments.

Manage POS Materials
- Employee handles the receiving of all POS.
- Break down, divide, and organize POS.
- Put away all POS in its designated location of the warehouse.
- Continuously condense POS to make room for new POS.
- Discard expired POS as directed by supervisor.
- Update inventory of all POS on the Data Report and POS System (min 3 times per week)
- Distribute POS to sales reps and Managers or prepare for delivery to accounts as requested. (Place in cubbies or as directed)
- Manage rebates and shelf talkers. Clean and organize this section of the warehouse making sure expiration dates are clearly marked on rebate boxes and expired ones are discarded.
Manage Samples and Will-calls
- Receive and check in samples and will-calls from warehouse or transfer truck.
- Lock up all product in the designated secured area of the warehouse.

Position Purpose: Oversees and directs the operations, vision, and programs for Greek life at Union College by facilitating an environment where members of the Greek community can be challenged and supported in their personal growth, efforts, and experiences. Compensation
The annual salary range this position is $60,000.00 - $62,000.00. Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Director of Equal Opportunity and Title IX Coordinator
Pay Status and Classification: Exempt, full-time
Supervisor: Vice President and Chief of Staff
Position Purpose: Under general direction by the Vice President and Chief of Staff, Office of the President, works collaboratively with various departments, including Student Affairs, Human Resources, Academic Affairs, Campus Safety and the Chief Diversity Officer to ensure the College’s adherence to Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) Amendments to the Clery Act, New York State Education Law Article 129-B, and other federal and state laws governing gender-based misconduct, discrimination, harassment and equal opportunity. Plays a pivotal role in fostering and securing a nurturing environment conducive to academic and personal growth of all College community members.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Compliance: Facilitates compliance with all procedures, requirements and timeframes outlined in the College’s Title IX Policy, Gender-based Misconduct Policy, and the Policy Prohibiting Discrimination, Harassment and Retaliation in Employment. Leads an effort to review and revise policies in response to changes in governing laws, regulations, and guidance. Reviews and compiles reports in compliance with federal and state law and to identify and address any patterns or systemic problems of reports of harassment and misconduct within the College community. Completes annual assessment report of progress to goals.
- Process Oversight: Oversees and coordinates investigations, responses, and resolutions to complaints under the Title IX Policy, the Gender-based Misconduct Policy, and the Policy Prohibiting Discrimination, Harassment and Retaliation in Employment. Assures that investigation and resolution processes are conducted in a fair, timely, impartial, respectful, and thorough manner.
- Collaboration & Partnership: Collaborates with colleagues in Student Affairs and Human Resources to identify topics, design and deliver student and employee training including compliance content training (e.g. NCAA Title IX requirements, new student orientation requirements, student training pursuant to New York Education Law Article 129-B, etc.). Coordinates with local organizations and service providers to ensure our community members have access to confidential resources. Manages partnerships with other external agencies with which the College has a partnership in executing its responsibilities under Title IX and other applicable laws and regulations.
- Supervision: Selects, trains, assigns and oversees designated roles including Deputy Title IX Coordinators, investigators, adjudication panel members, appellate panel members and advisors; ensures all are adequately trained in compliance with federal and New York State law.
Qualifications:
- A Master’s degree in a related field such as human resources, law, social justice, higher education administration or a relevant discipline and/or a Juris Doctorate, and a minimum of three years of experience in equal opportunity compliance, Title IX administration, or a related field, preferably in a higher education or nonprofit organizational setting.
- Extensive experience working on compliance with Title IX, Title VII, ADA, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Section 504 and related regulatory requirements.
- Certification and/or training as required by federal and New York State law to serve in the position, or ability to obtain such certification and training prior to commencement of employment.
- Demonstrated expertise in federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to equal opportunity, affirmative action, discrimination and harassment, including comprehensive knowledge of Title VII, Title IX, the Clery Act, New York State Education Law Article 129-B or similar state laws, and related guidance from the United States Department of Education and applicable state authorities.
- Ability to work outside of regular business hours when necessary.
- Demonstrated understanding and sensitivity towards experiences and expressions of trauma caused by sexual violence, discrimination and harassment.
- Strong presentation skills with an emphasis on education and training for a variety of constituencies.
- Experience conducting and/or overseeing investigations into allegations of discrimination, harassment, or sexual misconduct, and familiarity with principles of procedural fairness and due process.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to interact effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
