Fire Alarm Service Technician

Job Details: 

  • Able to service and maintain a variety of fire, CCTV, access control and burglary systems.
  • Trouble shoot systems autonomously, read and comprehend technical manuals.
  • Conduct all work in a professional manner, both at the job site and in all communications with the office and client.  
  • Clean driving record and able to drive self and another employee to the job sites, safely.
  •  This job requires that one can follow directions, follow code requirements, pay attention to details and work autonomously and independently.
  • Complete all paper work, service orders, time sheets, truck logs, etc.
  • Customer service is primary
  • This is not an entry level position, it requires years of experience.

 

Education Requirements

NICET Certified Level 2 Required or two years of experience as a service technician must get NICET certified in 90 days.

Post Secondary Education or Technical Training Preferred

Must be able to read and comprehend technical manuals and code books.

Must be articulate and able to communicate both orally and written.

Must be able to fill out reports completely and legibly, as required by code

Must be able to process documentation from the field, to the office files, computer generated and on to the Authority Having Jurisdiction, in a timely manner as required by code

Able to program by hand with programming worksheets and by computer

 

Other Requirements:

Clean Driving Record

Able to pass a drug test and back ground check

Must be able to present themselves as a professional and a person in authority

Must be able to communicate effectively with clients and Fire Marshals

Must communicate with office and bookkeeping department to coordinate work and billing

Must be able to follow through and complete projects on schedule with no excuses

Must be able to keep track of equipment, carry ladders and testing equipment

Must be available to be in the field and in the office

Must be able to train others to expected level of job requirements

Must be able to check the oil and tire pressure on vehicles and drive under the speed limit.

Must be a team player, willing to help others, and able come to work with a positive attitude.

Hourly pay dependent on level of education, certifications and job experience in the field
