Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

Provide health related tasks under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse in a way that is consistent with overall participant safety and accepted standards of participant care.

• Assist the participant with the use of medical equipment and self-administered medication as prescribed.
• Assess, record and report participants condition as needed including pulse, temperature, BP, signs of discomfort, etc.

• Assist with nutritional and fluid intake, documenting and notifying nurses on dietary preferences.
• Establishing positive rapport with the participants and ensuring confidentiality.
• Provides supervision, companionship and care to individuals with physical and/or cognitive impairment and assist in socialization and recreational activities.
• Knowledge of medical instruments and administration of care, common safety hazards and organizational policies regarding patient care.
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations and communicate clearly.

• May perform ambulation and transfer activities under direction.

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary: $16.36 to $19.55 per hour

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Approved NY State HHA Training Program or equivalent
• First Aid Certification required

• High School Diploma/GED

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Food Service Director/Supervisor, the foodservice aide works in conjunction with the cooks in preparing resident meal trays and special dietary requirements, along with serving food to residents, visitors, or staff.

• Prepares menu items and delivers trays to residents in floor dining room areas and to those who do not come to the dining room, ensuring their proper diets are administered appropriately.
• Responsible for maintaining cleanliness, setting up and clearing dining room tables and serving carts.
• Observes residents and reports complaints, problems, or anything out of the ordinary to supervisor.

• Assists in receiving and storing incoming food and supplies. Reports food and equipment needs to Chef/Manager.
• Communicates and cooperates with staff, residents, and their families.
• Complies with long-term care regulations and written dietary procedures and policies.

Job Type: Part-Time

• Assist Dishwasher in taking up food bulk truck.
• Set up pot sink for soaking dirty dishes and load dishwasher.
• Unload clean pots and pans and organize on pot rack shelves.
• Hang clean utensils on carousel and in proper bins inside cook’s cabinet.
• Assist dishwasher in unloading dishes, etc.
• Put aside items that are stained, so dish washer can distain items.
• Bring clean kettle strainer and kettle knobs to the Dietary Office daily.
• Continue to clean dirty pots, pans, and utensils.
• Answer the kitchen phone and send all needed items to floor.
• Organize clean items and put them on pot rack shelves and bins.
• Wash all cleaning buckets.
• Clean and organize all pieces of kitchen area.
• Clean table and underneath table, pot rack, long cart and shelves by pot sink.
• Sweep and mop kitchen areas.
• Bring down dirty rags and load them in washing machine, when done, load them in the dryer.
