Quality Control Technician

The Quality Control Technician plays a key role in ensuring our products meet high standards of quality, safety, and reliability. This position involves performing inspections, updating technical documentation, assembling products, providing technical support, and promoting a safe workplace. The ideal candidate thrives in a hands-on, small-company environment and is comfortable wearing multiple hats while maintaining a focus on precision and safety. This is a full-time on-site role based in Naples, TX. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Quality Control: Apply quality control practices to identify, address, and prevent production issues, ensuring consistent, high-quality results.
  • Product Inspection: Conduct visual and functional inspections, including basic electrical testing, to verify compliance with quality standards.
  • Documentation: Review, update, and maintain assembly and inspection instructions to ensure clarity and accuracy.
  • Product Assembly: Assemble laboratory and commercial products—including electronic and rooftop components—according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Technical Support: Answering calls and providing technical assistance.
  • Workplace Safety: Follow OSHA and IPC (electronics) regulations, use PPE appropriately, identify hazards, conduct safety checks, and report unsafe conditions.
  • Collaboration: Partner with the Plant Manager and electrical engineer, along with team members to support efficiency, continuous improvement, and a culture of safety.

Qualifications

  • Education: Minimum of two years of STEM-related college coursework (science, technology, engineering, or math required).
  • Technical Skills: Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation and data management.
  • Experience: Prior experience in manufacturing, assembly, or quality control preferred. Knowledge of workplace safety and best practices (OSHA, ESD Training, and Electronics Assembly) is a plus.
  • Attributes: Detail-oriented, adaptable, proactive, and safety-conscious. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with electrical testing and inspection processes including PCB assembly and testing.
  • Experience assembling electronic or mechanical products.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety standards and hazard identification.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to foster teamwork.
  • Experience preparing technical reports, procedures, and documentation (e.g., installation manuals, engineering submittals, and work instructions).

Work Environment

This role is based at our Naples, TX facility in a close-knit team environment. The position involves hands-on work with electrical and mechanical equipment. Candidates should be comfortable balancing quality control, assembly and safety responsibilities. We are a manufacturer of control systems located in specializing in the assembly, testing, and design of laboratory utility controllers and related accessories. Our sister division, located on the same campus, produces rooftop accessories such as supports, hydrants, and electrical pedestals. We are seeking a detail-oriented and versatile individual to join our team in a role that combines quality control, assembly, documentation, and safety.
