Individual Sales Lead

Saskatchewan Blue Cross®, one of Saskatchewan’s Top Employers, is currently recruiting for an Individual Sales Lead in the Individual Sales Department at our Saskatoon Office.

Reporting to the Individual Sales Manager, this position Supports the integration of sales strategies and ensures long term growth and sustainability of the Individual Products. They act as a lead in the area by providing coaching, guidance and direction to staff to facilitate the achievement of departmental goals, projects and objectives.  They will work closely with the Manager to focus on sales strategies, supporting client relations and managing key projects in the area that are focused on the growth and development of the Individual line of products.

- Identify opportunities to develop new business and generate new sales by supporting existing plan advisors and prospecting new clients and relationships
- Research and analyze sales data to assist in the development of sales strategies, targets, forecasts and budgets
- Maintain existing business and serve as a resource to brokers, external stakeholders and clients by promoting service capabilities and recommending products
- Coach and motivate team on methods to improve sales and advance sales skills to meet set sales targets and objectives
- Contribute to all aspects of the Sales training program including: needs assessments, developing content and materials
- Participate in the planning of department goals and assist with managing projects to ensure goals and objectives are realized
- Support the Manager, Individual Sales with:
      - Effective management of staff, technology and resources
      - Recruitment and selection
      - Developing and fostering effective team dynamics
- Work in conjunction with the Manager to determine appropriate action for complex issues, decisions and integration of large projects into the operational functions of the department
- Advise on, develop and maintain departmental processes, policies, procedures and compliance requirements and ensure the effective implementation, training and communication
- Handle escalated calls, provide clients with a positive customer experience by responding to, coordinating and effectively resolving inquiries or service challenges in a timely manner
- Assist with the development and delivery of training to Brokers both in-person and through digital applications
- In conjunction with the Marketing department, develop and support new creative, campaigns, contests and print materials for Individual Products
- Liaise with key stakeholders across the organization to coordinate, identify and develop training and process improvement needs and strategies
- Remain current with product knowledge, competitor products and services, trends, and technology
- Anticipates and responds to changes to industry or company policies and procedures that may impact the area
- Represent Saskatchewan Blue Cross and the Individual Product & Sales Department on various committees, tradeshows and company-hosted events
- Network and ensure involvement in the Benefit community to promote our brand and build relationships with clients and plan advisors
- Participate in joint sales calls with members of the sales team and management
- Provide operational support to area during peak periods
- Other related projects and duties as assigned

- Completion of post-secondary training in a related field supplemented by several years of progressively responsible sales experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Previous experience in the insurance industry is an asset
- Strong project, problem solving and organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines
- Strong computer skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel with a proven ability to easily learn new software
- Ability to lead, motivate and develop employees and foster an engaging work environment
- Excellent presentation, editing, written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical ability, with a commitment to accuracy
- Must be results and service oriented, responsive to our customers and work collaboratively in a team environment
- Proven self-starter with a commitment to continuous development
- The successful candidate may be required to undergo a background check
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada on an unrestricted basis.
