Automatic Door Technician /Project Coordinator

POSITION:            Automatic Door Technician /Project Coordinator
REPORTS TO:      Branch Manager
DIVISION:                  SAT  
LOCATION:          Lethbridge, Alberta
 
Summary:
The successful applicant will oversee Stanley Glazing and Automatic Door Installation projects ensuring they are completed within committed time frames including performing installation and any required maintenance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform Installation/service work as required for Stanley Storefront/Glazing and Automatic Door Equipment, including other electro/mechanical equipment that may be sold or serviced by the branch
  • With support of the Territory Manager, schedule and coordinate installation/service projects
  • Maintain branch safety records, including distribution and collection of safety deliverables required by company EHS personnel     
  • Establish and maintain effective and continuous communication with customers
  • Ensure that change-orders and add-ons are documented and are relayed to National Account
    Managers and the Manager, Project Coordination as per set procedures, so that additional charges can be applied as required
  • Maintain accurate work records, adequate parts inventory for service vehicle; keep inventory log
  • Keep manuals up to date, and maintain company vehicles, tools and other property in accordance with established procedures
  • Ensure that all required documentation, drawings and sign-offs are received so that the project
    can be properly closed-off
  • Maintain good customer relations and customer service
  • Other duties as required

 
 
Requirements:
 

  • Glazing experience an asset
  • Prior experience in the automated door industry would be an asset
  • Diploma in a related carpentry, electrical, mechanical, industrial field or the equivalent combination of education and related work experience
  • Prior construction or field service experience
  • AAADM Certification would be an asset
  • Ability to work outside in various climate conditions
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Must be capable of meeting the following physical demands including, but not limited to:  lifting or carrying weights form 50-75 lbs, sitting while driving for periods of up to 2 hours, standing on concrete for periods of time up to 8 hours, stooping, crouching, kneeling, crawling and twisting spine occasionally
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Creativity and strategic thinking skill
  • Proven Project Coordination skills with technical, complex and medium to large scale sized  projects
  • Must be able to read basic blueprints
  • Ability to work independently and within teams
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Proven Experience with Excel, Word and Outlook
