Workforce Healthcare Training Instructor (P/T)
In support of SUNY Orange's workforce development strategy, SUNY Orange Plus supports the creation of opportunities focused on providing high-impact solutions to local employers, including strengthening employees' skills and competencies through customized workforce development training and services.
We are currently seeking qualified Non-Credit Healthcare Training Instructors for upcoming semesters to support programs such as Medical Assisting, Certified Nurse Aide (CNA), Patient Care Technician (PCT), Pharmacy Technician, Medical Billing and Coding, and Medical Administrative Assistant. This is a part-time position, not to exceed 29 hours per week, requiring day, evening, and/or weekend availability. The position is located at the Newburgh campus, with travel between the Newburgh and Middletown campuses as necessary.
Job Requirements:
Education Required:
- Active, current, and unrestricted professional license or certification appropriate to the instructional area (e.g., CMA, RN/LPN, CNA, CPhT, CPC, CCS, or a related credential).
Experience Required:
- A minimum of two years of recent, relevant healthcare experience in the instructional field. Knowledge of healthcare workplace standards, regulations, and best practices applicable to the program being taught.
- Ability to effectively instruct adult learners in classroom, laboratory, and/or clinical environments.
- Understanding of industry-specific competencies, documentation requirements, and professional expectations relevant to entry-level healthcare roles.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior teaching, training, or instructional experience (academic, workforce, or clinical).
- Experience preparing students for certification or licensure exams.
