Hudson Valley Credit Union is currently recruiting for the position of Financial Consultant I. Primary Function: Present members of HVCU with a growing array of financial services and investment products, while delivering unparalleled value and outstanding service to members. Please note: This role can be based in our Kingston or Rhinebeck locations and will cover our new Latham, NY branch (appointment only). This is a commission based role with a base salary of $60,000 annually.
Responsibilities
- Establish value-added relationships with members and support the activities of the Senior Financial Consultant.
- Meet customers’ financial needs including, but not limited to, the following: a. Funding for a secure retirement b. Funding for children or grandchildren’s education needs c. Growth of assets above inflation and taxes d. Protection of assets from estate taxes
- Sell effectively by establishing relationships with members, finding their needs and then offering appropriate solutions in a compelling way so the customer sees the value, understands the features and benefits and purchase the solution.
- Responsible for meeting and exceeding established revenue and branch referral goals as part of the team goal with the Financial Consultant II.
- Cultivate existing (C&D) clients with the goal of identifying potential members to be graduated to (A&B) clients.
- Conduct educational seminars for members and prospective members.
- Conduct training within Credit Union to educate employees on the benefits of Financial Services and grow referrals within the branch network.
- Provide branch coverage due to extended hours.
- Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained knowledge. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
- Embrace and apply HVCU’s guiding principles to all activities and responsibilities. This includes the Credit Union’s Mission, Vision, Core Values, Employee and Member Value Propositions, Sales and Service Model, and commitment to Lean Six Sigma practices. Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree or at least 2 years equivalent experience for each undergraduate year not completed; undergraduate degree cannot substitute for minimum number of years of experience required
- Series 6 or ability to pass within 90 days of employment required
- Series 63 or ability to pass within 90 days of employment required
- NYS Life and Health licenses or ability to pass within 90 days of employment required
- Medicare Certifications required
- Clean U4 required
- Minimum 1 Year Industry experience, preferably within Credit Union or Financial Institution experience required

Primary Function: process a complete range of branch services for retail and business members, including opening new loans and accounts, processing transactions, and cross selling credit union products and services. Use a needs based sales approach to establish new memberships, make referrals to business partners, deepen member relationships and retain members.
Responsibilities
- Open new memberships, new accounts, and new loans and process loan and account transactions for retail and business members. Use needs based sales approach, ask questions to uncover ways to meet members’ financial needs with additional HVCU products and services.
- Refer members to appropriate business partners based on member needs and capture interactions using the customer relations management software. This includes but is not limited to automated transaction services, real estate loans, business loans and services, investment and insurance services. Provide strong internal service to coworkers throughout the credit union.

BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A stables guide is responsible for providing a safe and enjoyable recreational activity for guests, of the stables, while guiding a trail ride (riding a horse while supervising the horse line) or while operating the carriage team. This person is responsible for establishing and maintaining a good relationship with our guests; giving a tour of the property, sharing interesting facts, and offering accurate information about Mohonk and our history.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
•Competent horseback rider with ability to mount horse from the ground.
•Arrive prepared, on time, and ready to work; maintain good attendance.
•Display good horsemanship and have a strong fundamental background in horse ailments, conditions, and traits.
•Demonstrate “Horse sense” and interpret herd behavior.
•Assess rider’s abilities and horse behaviors in response to rider’s actions.
•Ensure all riders have accurately signed waiver form and payment receipt.
