Location: Peekskill, NY
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM
Pay Rate: $33 - $34 per hour
Are you an experienced Senior Accountant looking for an opportunity in a business office environment? We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to handle a variety of accounting responsibilities for a company in Peekskill, NY. This temporary role offers the possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate.
Senior Accountant Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in a business office environment.
- Strong full-charge bookkeeping skills with a background in business office accounting.
- Experience in accounts payable (A/P), accounts receivable (A/R), and account analysis.
- Ability to adapt to new accounting software (training provided).
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
Senior Accountant Responsibilities:
- Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile financial transactions.
- Prepare and present accounting reports, assisting with month-end and year-end closings.
- Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
- Prepare financial statements and budgets according to schedule.
- Oversee and review staff assignments.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.
- Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
- Perform bank reconciliations, account analysis, AP/AR processing, and clerical accounting tasks.
