Adjunct Clinical Instructor - Diagnostic Imaging
SUNY Orange is recognized for its excellence in teaching and takes pride in its role in educating the next generation of students.
The Diagnostic Imaging department invites applications from individuals with a commitment to excellence in teaching students from diverse backgrounds.
We are currently seeking Adjunct Clinical Instructors to teach clinical per diem. Days and times of clinical assignments can be found on the Diagnostic Imaging webpage, but in general, are day or "business hours". The number of hours assigned may vary and are determined by student clinical assignments and workload (hours or a certain number of hours are not guaranteed). Typically the assigned hours vary from a minimum of 15 to a max of 120 hours in a semester depending on allotted hours and one's availability.
Clinical instructors may also be assigned to function as Skills Lab Instructors for tutoring. Skills labs typically occur after class and scheduled labs conclude (approximately 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm and later). These sessions support student success through individualized review and practice. Other future opportunities could include continuing education courses (development and hosting).
The Adjunct Clinical Instructor supports the Radiologic Technology Program by providing direct supervision, instruction, and evaluation of students in the clinical setting. Clinical instructors play a critical role in helping students integrate classroom knowledge with patient care and imaging practice in a professional healthcare environment.
Clinical instructors are assigned to various affiliated clinical locations based on program need. While the program makes every effort to place instructors at sites closer to their residence, site requests cannot be guaranteed. The current program location is Middletown, but this will likely change to Newburgh in about a year.
Job Requirements:
Education Required: Associate's degree in Radiography, Healthcare, Education or other related field. Holds current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and NYS DOH license for Radiography.
Experience Required: Minimum of two (2) years' clinical experience in radiography. Strong knowledge of, or experience with, program policies and procedures, leadership, technique building, anatomy, and positioning skills. NYS Radiography license. ARRT Certification in Radiography.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics: Bachelor's degree in Radiography, Healthcare, Education or other related field. Proficient in supervision, instruction, and evaluation. Experience with students at a clinical affiliate or another imaging centering. CPR Certification.
Responsibilities: At a minimum, the clinical instructor is expected to: maintain knowledge of the program's mission, goals, and clinical objectives; understand and apply the clinical evaluation system; provide students with clinical instruction and supervision in accordance with program policies; evaluate students' clinical competence and provide timely feedback; participate in the assessment process, as appropriate; monitor and enforce program policies and procedures in the clinical setting; communicate regularly with program faculty regarding student progress and concerns.
Additional Requirements: Background check, drug screening, and health physical (upon hire).

Adjunct Instructor - Movement Science - PT Day and Evening
SUNY Orange is seeking a dynamic, student-centered Part-Time Adjunct Instructor to teach a required Concepts of Physical Wellness course for undergraduate students. This foundational course integrates classroom learning with active movement experiences, helping students build lifelong wellness habits and understand the importance of physical activity for health and performance.
The instructor will be responsible for following established Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs), delivering engaging instruction, assessing student progress, and facilitating participation in a variety of physical movement sessions.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Teach one or more sections of Concepts of Physical Wellness, a credit bearing general education course.
- Deliver course content aligned with required SLOs, including: ,
- Understanding health-related concepts (nutrition, stress, cardiovascular health, etc.) ,
- Evaluating individual fitness levels across components such as cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength/endurance, flexibility, and body composition
- Participating in movement sessions (e.g., walking, stretching, weight training, spinning)
- Develop assignments, quizzes, fitness assessments, and activities that align with course objectives.
- Lead and supervise in-class physical activity sessions that are safe, inclusive, and adapted for varied fitness levels.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, fitness data, assessments, and grades in accordance with college policies.
- Provide feedback and academic support to students during office hours or as needed.
- Collaborate with department faculty to ensure consistency and quality in course delivery.
Job Requirements:
Required Education: Master's degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science, Health Promotion Kinesiology, or a closely related field.
Required Experience: Experience teaching wellness, fitness or physical education in higher education and/or high school level. Ability to facilitate both classroom-based instruction and activity based learning. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills and a commitment to student success, equity, and inclusive pedagogical practices.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:
- Certification in group fitness, personal training, or wellness coaching, (e.g. ACSM, ACE, NASM)
- CPR/AED and First Aid certification
- Familiarity with fitness testing protocols and interpreting health/fitness data
- Experience with instructional Technology (e.g. learning management systems, fitness tracking apps)

SUNY Orange is seeking an innovative and student-centered professional to join our dynamic team as the Assistant Director of Career Success. This role, housed within the Center for Student and Career Success, plays a pivotal part in fulfilling our mission to empower students to achieve their academic and career aspirations.
The Assistant Director of Career Success is critical to advancing SUNY Orange's Career initiatives and provides training for faculty and staff on career coaching. The Assistant Director facilitates workshops for faculty and staff and works closely with academic communities within the college in developing career exploration options for students. The Assistant Director will assist students with developing alternative career options related to their academic discipline. In support of career goal attainment, the Assistant Director maintains knowledge of current employment, economic, and industry trends and connects students to campus and community services. The Assistant Director tracks and reports participation, outcomes and other related metrics of students. This position will work alongside the Pathway Coaches, Career Coach and Success Coach on career goal setting and planning as well as assist the Associate Director in campus relations with employers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (*CF indicates Critical Function) Safety and Supervision: Maintains a register of all participants and tracks attendance for each walk (*CF) Monitors the group's pace, ensuring no participant is left behind, and remains vigilant for signs of fatigue, discomfort, or potential accidents (*CF) Ensures all safety guidelines are followed, including instructions for road crossings and navigating challenging terrain Requires use of a hand radio to be signed out at Reception for any activities off the health center units Participant Support and Companionship: Provides emotional support and companionship to seniors, offering a listening ear and engaging in friendly conversation (*CF) Assists seniors with mobility aids (canes, walkers, wheelchairs) as needed and provides a helping hand on uneven surfaces Fosters a friendly, inclusive, and positive environment that encourages social interaction among group members Assists with any specific needs of individual participants, such as providing water, arranging rest breaks, pushing manual wheelchairs, or helping with meals on longer outings (*CF) Logistics and Administration: Ensures each participant has been cleared to participate by WP rehab department representative / nursing / social services (*CF) Arrives at the designated meeting point at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start time Reports to nursing to review walk destination and eligible resident-participants Provides a brief orientation to the group before each walk, discussing the route, safety precautions, and break schedules Has familiarity with each participant's essential medical information and emergency contacts, carries this information on every offsite outing (*CF) Emergency Response: Administers basic first aid and responds calmly and effectively to any minor incidents Contacts emergency services and/or appropriate authorities in the event of a serious incident (*CF) Follows established emergency protocols and reporting procedures (*CF) All other duties as assigned General Skills and Abilities Patient, empathetic, and compassionate with a genuine passion for working with the elderly Reliable, dependable, adaptable and responsible Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with seniors, particularly those with a dementia diagnosis Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in stressful situations Sufficient physical stamina to walk at varying paces and distances, and assist participants with mobility as necessary QualificationsQualificationsHigh school diploma, or HSEProven experience working with senior citizens, particularly those with a dementia diagnosis, in a caregiving, recreational, or volunteer capacityCurrent CPR and Basic First Aid certification, preferredReliable transportation
