Coordinator of Liberty Partnerships Program (Part-Time)
The Liberty Partnerships Program (LPP) is a collaboration involving SUNY Orange, the Newburgh Enlarged City School District (NFA Main/North High Schools, Heritage/South Middle Schools) and the Boys and Girls Club of Newburgh.
As a New York State Education Department grant-funded initiative, the Liberty Partnerships Program is a comprehensive academic excellence program targeted at both urban and rural, middle and high school students. The program's purpose is to ensure that the youth of the Liberty Partnerships Program graduate from high school and enter post-secondary education and the workforce as highly competent and compassionate young adults.
SUNY Orange is currently seeking a part-time Coordinator to join the Liberty Partnerships Program. This part-time position will assist the Liberty Partnership Program Director with the implementation of programming and reporting for the Liberty Partnerships Program, which is comprised of an afterschool and summer program designed to increase high school graduation rates and promote college readiness. The Coordinator will also assist the Director in developing and fostering key partnerships within the local community that best serve students within the afterschool program and meet the requirements set forth in the grant. This position may work a flexible schedule that includes evening and weekend hours as need. Additionally, this position may be required to travel between campuses and to other program sites in Newburgh, NY as need.
Job Requirements:
Education Required: Associate's degree
Experience Required: Experience with programs that serve at risk youth.
Experience working with underrepresented populations.

Jr. Case Manager - Grant funded
The Jr. Case Manager will help plan, coordinate and supervise the activities of individuals enrolled in Youth Employment Program and Summer Youth Employment Programs. The essential role of the Jr. Case Manager will be teaching the participants proper work ethic. Proper work ethic includes honesty and integrity in the workplace; following all rules and procedures as directed; stressing the importance of being on time; understanding acceptable reasons for not reporting to work or leaving early; being cooperative and a team player; respecting co-workers and supervisors; doing your job to the best of your ability; and practicing effective communication skills. The Jr. Case Manager will handle the maintenance of participant records, data entry and case note activities. Organization skills and computer experience a must for this role. Candidate must have strong counseling skills to motivate clients and to identify and overcome barriers using a supportive approach. Act as a coach by preparing and mentoring youth during their Summer Youth Employment Program. This may include encouraging and guiding appropriate dress, attitude, interview skills, and other job readiness training. Includes employer and work site visits. Visiting/monitoring worksites to ensure participants are completing age-appropriate duties, gaining a rewarding work experience, ensuring adequate work is provided with proper supervision, and most vital that youth are in a safe environment. This position requires ability to travel between Orange County Worksites, offices and other locations as needed.
Job Requirements:
Education & Experience Required: Associate degree or higher OR completion of 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university; OR two years' experience in the human services field. Must be computer literate.

Supervising Groundsman
The work involves responsibility for the general maintenance and upkeep of all grounds and grounds equipment of the College. Work is carried out under general supervision with leeway for independent judgement in the planning and scheduling grounds and equipment maintenance. Supervision is exercised over subordinate personnel.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:
- Plans, schedules, supervises and participates in grounds maintenance including, but not limited to, mowing, reseeding, fertilizing, spraying, watering, pruning, planting and the removal of debris with hand and power equipment;
- Schedules, supervises and participates in maintenance of sidewalks, parking lots and storm drains;
- Schedules, supervises and participates in layout and maintenance of gardens and athletic fields;
- Schedules, supervises and participates in snow removal and sanding of lots, sidewalks and roof areas;
- Compiles information for bids, requisitions, stores and maintains inventory;
- Instructs and supervises subordinates in the safe operation and maintenance of power and hand equipment;
- Schedules, supervises and participates in the maintenance and repair of all power and hand equipment;
- Schedules, supervises and participates in the maintenance and repair of garage and workshop;
- Schedules, supervises and participates in the daily removal of all waste from campus buildings and grounds for disposal at landfill;
- Operates a variety of tools and ground equipment, including, but not limited to, backhoes, tractors, mechanical post hold diggers, leveling instruments, chain saws, etc.;
- Completes reports as required.
Other: Full-time, 12 months, Civil Service Competitive Provisional Appointment. Civil Service Examination is a requirement for permanent appointment. Examination to be announced at later date.
Monday - Friday, 7:00AM - 3:00PM, (40 hours per week - one hour paid lunch). Hours will vary during peak periods.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Either:
(A) An Associate's Degree in Landscape Development, Recreation and Sports Area Management or related field and one (1) year of supervisory experience involving all aspects of grounds and grounds equipment maintenance; OR
(B) Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and three (3) years of paid work experience involving all aspects of grounds and grounds equipment maintenance, one (1) year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity; OR
(C) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must obtain within one (1) year of appointment, and maintain, appropriate pesticide, insecticide and herbicide applicator's certification.
Must obtain with one (1) year of appointment and maintain a valid Commercial Driver's License with a "B" classification (CDL-B)
Preferred Skills, Abilities and Characteristics:

PROSPERAR Pathway Coach - PT
The PROSPERAR Pathway Coach works collaboratively in a diverse, inclusive and student-centered environment, with students of various learning styles, identities and life experiences. As a representative of one or more of the seven communities, this position centers on clearing the path for students to graduate, with targeted strategies to meet the needs of Hispanic and low-income students. The PROSPERAR Pathway Coach will help students gain access to resources when most needed. Case Manager (Welfare to Work)
The Employment & Training Administration is currently seeking a Case Manager to join their team.
The Case Manager will plan, coordinate and supervise the activities of individuals enrolled in Welfare to Work programs. The essential nature of the work is to assign program participants to employment activities to meet federal participation work requirements as well as help them to reach economic independence. This position will be responsible for motivating clients to fulfill the terms of their work requirements and to develop a plan to achieve realistic occupational goals. Additionally, the Case Manager will handle the maintenance of participant records, data entry and case note activities that will be entered into and managed in a state database/computer system. Organization and computer experience is required. Due to mandated program participation, at times, the position may call for work with unmotivated clients with multiple barriers to employment. Therefore, the candidate must have strong counseling skills to assess and overcome client barriers to improve responsiveness and compliance with ETA program demands. Travel may be required between the Career Centers and other sites as needed.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provides assistance to participants through referral to job readiness training programs, support services, and other appropriate work activities leading to employment.
- Approves, monitors, oversees and evaluates the efforts of assigned participants in programs to achieve work participation requirements provided through Orange County Career Centers/Employment & Training Administration.
- Participates in case conferences, informational meetings with various partner agencies and/or service providers regarding client participation programs, job readiness activities and self-sufficiency plans leading to independence.
- Counsel individual participants to motivate, reinforce and develop a solid work ethic and achieve realistic goals. Will formulate career plans and evaluate barriers to employment as assigned.
- Maintains participant program records, enters and updates data into Welfare to Work Case Management System (WTWCMS), including the formulation of an assessment, employment plan and other relevant data. Completes reports, compiles statistics, prepares caseload for monthly local and state case reviews.
- May provide orientation, job readiness and training workshops.
- Provide mentoring to clients in their job seeking and post-employment related needs. May include employer and work site visits.
- Provide retention services to both customer and employer.
- May make training related program or work-site field visits to evaluate participant progress.

This foundational course integrates classroom learning with active movement experiences, helping students build lifelong wellness habits and understand the importance of physical activity for health and performance.
The instructor will be responsible for following established Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs), delivering engaging instruction, assessing student progress, and facilitating participation in a variety of physical movement sessions.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Teach one or more sections of Concepts of Physical Wellness, a credit bearing general education course.
- Deliver course content aligned with required SLOs, including: ,

- Evaluating individual fitness levels across components such as cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength/endurance, flexibility, and body composition

- Lead and supervise in-class physical activity sessions that are safe, inclusive, and adapted for varied fitness levels.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, fitness data, assessments, and grades in accordance with college policies.
- Provide feedback and academic support to students during office hours or as needed.
- Collaborate with department faculty to ensure consistency and quality in course delivery.
Job Requirements:
Required Education: Master's degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science, Health Promotion Kinesiology, or a closely related field.
Required Experience: Experience teaching wellness, fitness or physical education in higher education and/or high school level. Ability to facilitate both classroom-based instruction and activity based learning. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills and a commitment to student success, equity, and inclusive pedagogical practices.

This role, housed within the Center for Student and Career Success, plays a pivotal part in fulfilling our mission to empower students to achieve their academic and career aspirations.
The Assistant Director of Career Success is critical to advancing SUNY Orange's Career initiatives and provides training for faculty and staff on career coaching. The Assistant Director facilitates workshops for faculty and staff and works closely with academic communities within the college in developing career exploration options for students. The Assistant Director will assist students with developing alternative career options related to their academic discipline.
