BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assemble, set up, serve, break down and monitors continental breakfast food and beverages with a personable, courteous and professional manner.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

•Clean up all spills as quickly as possible.
•Fulfill guest requests for food and beverage items accurately by serving and presenting menu items in a neat and appetizing manner.
•Clear the buffet(s) after the meal. Clean the equipment and return it to secure storage.
•Clean the location according to standards and leave the area presentable and ready for next use.
•Maintain and clean all buffet storage areas on a daily basis as directed by management.
•Anticipate guest's needs and meet them before you are asked.
•Maintain a presence at the location, greet guests in a friendly manner, and be approachable and informative at all times.
•Take responsibility for all Mohonk Mountain House equipment and supplies. Be careful to prevent loss and abuse of any items you use.
•Maintain a polite and pleasant personality.
•Work under crowded noisy conditions and to navigate around guests with loaded trays and potentially hot items.
•Work productively alone and without supervision when necessary.
•Handle small delicate equipment/objects without extraneous movement, contamination or destruction.
•Perform basic mathematical functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
•Answer phones and take food and beverage orders from guests.
•Enter guest orders in a Point of Sale Terminal and enter special requests such as dietary restrictions, allergies, etc.
•Learn standard menu items, describe to the guest in detail and answer guest questions.
•Provide recommendations and suggestions aimed at enhancing the satisfaction of diners such as recommendations about wine pairings.
•Adhere to Mohonk Mountain House’s Dress and Grooming Standards; presenting a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance and maintaining a positive, professional image to our customers.
•Learn and successfully demonstrate the Mohonk Mountain House Service Steps with Service Strategies with guests and staff.
•Learn and retain knowledge of historical facts and information about Mohonk Mountain House.
•Develop and maintain positive working relationships with other staff.
•Speak, read and write the English language and communicate in a clear and congenial manner, with our guests, visitors and employees. Hear verbal instructions, directions and warnings.
•Reach with hands and arms, bend, kneel, stoop, twist and flex arms, walk up and down stairs/inclines, sit, climb up/down ladders or stand for up to 5 hours at a time.
•Negotiate stairs up and down, and uneven pathways while carrying service trays up to 20/lbs.
•Maneuver carts or dollies safely with loads up to 200 pounds up and down stairs, elevators, through passageways or outdoors up to 500 feet.
•Lift up to 50 pounds from ground level to waist level and carries a distance of up to 75 feet with/ without assistance. Walk up to 7 miles per day.
•Lift and carry 25-35 lbs. to public areas within the hotel.
•See close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
•Maintain a flexible work schedule including days/nights, weekdays/weekends, holidays, and during peak periods of business.
•Demonstrate regular, predictable and punctual attendance during regularly scheduled work hours.
•Work a varying schedule, sometimes on short notice, when needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:

We’ve been making cheese since 2007… come join the team!
We are located in the beautiful mid-Hudson; our Creamery sits among the fields and rolling hills of our sister company Chaseholm Farm, which practices regenerative, grass-fed dairying. We are currently a small, human-scale operation of 5-6 full time staff sending high-quality artisan cheese out into the Hudson Valley, NYC area and beyond, and we are at an exciting stage of growth and expansion. We are currently looking for 1 full-time and 1 part-time team member but are flexible in terms of schedule. Reach out to us and let’s talk about our needs and yours!
Working at the Creamery is a fast-paced, engaging experience. We start the day early saying hello to the Chaseholm cows, picking up milk, and off we go! We’re a small team and we do most things by hand – we are artisans after all! It is an intensive work environment, but at the end of the day, you get to point to a delicious, ripe Camembert or a nutty, delightful slice of Tomme and say, “I made that!” No day is the same; you’ll never get bored and you’ll learn a lot. You’ll be able to get involved in all aspects of cheesemaking:
- Milk receiving and pasteurizing
- Cheese making and production
- Cheese ripening and affinage
- Cheese packaging and labeling
- Recordkeeping and analysis
- Cleaning and sanitation
Additional areas you could get involved in include:
- Mechanical plant and equipment maintenance
- Food safety regulation and compliance
- Sales and customer service at farmers’ markets across the region (please see the farmers’ market associate job posting!)
- Accounts management with our retail and distributor partners
You do NOT need experience in cheesemaking or food production! We will teach you. However, there are a few qualities that our ideal candidate will have.
You MUST have:
- A reliable means of transportation: our rural location is not accessible by public transportation
- The ability to handle physically demanding work, lift 30 lbs comfortably, remain moving on your feet for a few hours at a time (with breaks of course!): certain tasks are possible to complete while sitting but there is definitely a lot of walking around on the processing floor!
- A strong work ethic with regards to time management: when you’re on the clock you’re working efficiently
Ideally, you are also:
- Proactive: you take the initiative to start the next task
- Ready to take ownership of a project or area, learn the ins + outs, and follow through to completion
- Attentive to details and able to maintain focus through a repetitive task
- Able to communicate clearly and respectfully with others about your needs and team needs
- Interested in learning about the art + science of cheesemaking: you don’t need to become an expert but we’d like for you to understand the “why” behind the “what” so you are able to execute tasks efficiently and make best judgements to produce the best quality cheese
We are indeed a small team and do our best to support each other as we juggle each day’s and week’s tasks. We like to plan ahead but look to remain flexible as different needs come up. We often work in teams on larger tasks and solo on other small ones. We like to work hard so we can play hard, we know that beer tastes better ice cold, and we’ve enjoyed many a team pizza party and bonfire cookout. Sometimes we’ll do both at once: you might find us one day blasting pop tunes as we clean cheese equipment and the next day listening to some delightful classical music as we press cheese curds into their final forms.

BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Supervises the operational aspects of the stables program including horseback riding, pony rides, carriage operation, corporate events, public relations, staffing, expense control, and sales; maximizing revenue while maintaining a high quality of safety and service. This person will respond quickly and appropriately to satisfy all guest and staff requests while promoting a positive and safe experience. The Stables Supervisor is an active member of the recreation team who responds to all issues of departmental concern within the framework of the operation of the total hotel.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
•Oversee daily operations of the stable in absence of Stable Manager including: staff, rides, reservations, accounting procedures, and animal care.
•Demonstrate competency as horseback rider with ability to mount horse from the ground.
•Arrive prepared, on time, and ready to work; maintain good attendance.
•Display good horsemanship and have a strong fundamental background in horse ailments, conditions, and traits.
•Demonstrate “Horse sense” and interpret herd behavior.
•Assess rider’s abilities and horse behaviors in response to riders’ actions.

•Lift up to 75 pounds from ground level to waist level and carry a distance of up to 100 yards with/ without assistance. Walk up to 7 miles per day.

QUALIFICATIONS:
•Valid Driver’s License and at least 21 years of age, or 20 years of age with at least two years of licensed driving experience.
•CHA certification a plus
•A.A. or B.S degree in Equine Science is helpful
•Minimum of 4 years experience in a public/private stables operation with a proven record of increasing responsibility
•Current standard First Aid and CPR preferred

BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as the primary point of contact related to Recreation, Spa and Meal reservations for in-house guests. This staff person will have very high levels of guest contact. In addition to assisting guests with reservations for activities, this staff member will serve as contact point for Mohonk Staff members looking to provide further guest experience enhancements. This person will be responsible for the coordination and maintenance of the Central Stairs information boards related to content and appearance.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

- Work with external companies to arrange excursions to surrounding area attractions on behalf of the guest.
