We are seeking a high energy, motivated Assistant Distribution Center Manager in our Lyons, NY location.
The Assistant Distribution Center Manager will assist the DC Manager with managing all aspects of the day warehouse, night warehouse, and distribution functions. Regularly interact and communicate objectives with the DC Manager as well as give direction to all shift and department managers by utilizing good written and verbal communication skills. Responsible for training, leading, coaching, and assigning work for all shifts and departments while focusing on proper delivery process, customer service expectations, safe working and safe driving techniques, compliance, and product handling.
ESSENTIAL POSITION RESULTS
• Reports to the DC Manager.
• Back up the DC Manager, having the ability to perform all required functions.
• Work closely with and provide direction to the Driver Manager, the Dock Supervisor, and the Day Admin. Provide backup to these positions in their absence, having the ability to perform all required functions of these roles.
• Learn and maintain a general working knowledge of all-night warehouse functions and have ongoing communication with the night management team.
• Proficient with SAP/Roadnet/Omnitracs/ Microsoft products as a subject matter expert (and any other EMN necessary software)
• Needs to understand the Roadnet routing program and Omnitracs to properly communicate to the logistics team any concerns or recommendations.
• Weekly review of day and driver payroll, submission, and sign-off responsibility, reporting concerns to the DC Manager.
• Must be able to multi-task and stay focused on highly complex processes with large amounts of data, providing high-level positive execution.
• Reviews, discusses, and positively executes the 30/60/90 plans provided by the DC Manager.
• Must be able to work with all departments in a learning capacity, building a high-level competency to execute as an Associate DC Manager.
• Will handle driver phone calls to answer any questions and give advice or direction on any issues or problems that arise.
• Audits routes to ensure compliance, performs service time analysis and reports findings as needed.
• Will monitor Omnitracs program and reports as and when needed.
• Participates in Driver compliance review process.
• Ability to recognize problems at an early stage and be able to communicate and troubleshoot to resolve the problems.
• Good communication skills are essential to keep employees, managers, and supervisors fully apprised of situations that arise. When necessary, will need to contact Customer Service, Accounts Receivable, or the Logistics department to resolve problems.
• Investigate shipping errors and shortages as and if needed.
• Vehicle post-accident investigation involvement and drug testing in the event the Driver Manager is absent.
• Communicate with Penske to expedite vehicle repairs and PM work.
• Communicate delivery instructions and Time Window changes to the Logistic department in the absence of the Driver Manager
• Communicate and respond to Sales personnel regarding any delivery problems.
• Perform morning driver dispatch in the absence of the Driver manager.
• Observe, coach, and train delivery drivers and day warehouse workers on proper policy, procedures, and safety requirements as needed.
• Observe all work functions to ensure stretching exercises, safe lifting, and safe working habits are being performed. Coaches on proper techniques when noticing any unsafe habits are taking place.
• Review and address velocity and product handling rate data on warehouse workers with the day warehouse supervisor
• Run empty bin reports and check for blocked bins.
• Print and assign transfers, combo picks, and hot lists for day warehouse crew.
• Investigate inventory issues and perform vintage checks.
• Review outside pick reports and assist in re-slotting of materials on the pick line.
• Monitor Chep pallet reports and set up delivery appointments.
• Complete daily reporting summaries and spreadsheets as needed.
• Performs PIT training and certification as needed.
• Develop facility- related training materials and support implementation as needed.
• Completes accident and injury reports and participates in the investigation process as needed.
• Communicate with the maintenance department on equipment repairs needed.
• Facilitate communication between the day shift and the night shift managers on any needed communication (such as replenishment needs and status) as well as DC manager communication as directed.
• Become familiar with the night shift start-up process and the overall night operation.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages/Supervises Day Warehouse Supervisor, Driver Manager, and Day Administration, as well as members of the Day Shift, Driver, and Day Warehouse as required. Works in conjunction with the Driver Manager to ensure we service our customers efficiently and professionally. Works in conjunction with the dock supervisor to ensure that the receiving, put away, consolidation, and replenishment are performed accurately and efficiently. Works with the Night Warehouse Manager daily to communicate information and create a harmonious bond between day and night operations and work processes. Coaches and trains in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures. Management of direct reports to obtain department and company expectations, training management, non-union, and union employees; assisting in planning; giving direction, evaluation, and providing positive and negative feedback to employees and management on performance. Will recognize, reward, coach, and resolve problems, with disciplinary action provided as and if needed.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

- Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000 and annual bonus potential

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Certifications and /or licenses:
• College degree required and/or significant industry experience as an Operations Department Manager
• A valid CDL class B or A driver's license with air brake endorsement with clean MVR preferred
Experience:
• At least 3 - 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge/Skills:
• Expert level PC skills using MS Office and other various computer systems.
• Subject matter expert of SAP, Roadnet/Omnitracs routing program, Shiraz, and Lucas.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations and rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to relate to different personality types and communicate for success.
• Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to solve complex problems and deal with a variety of variables.
• Using diplomacy and discretion as well as strong customer service skills.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This position may have a full-time, part time or relief schedule. Days and hours of work are determined for each vacancy and would typically include an evening or overnight shift.

Essential Functions:

As a key member of a small team, the Facilities Manager is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the Geneva History Museum, Johnston House, and Rose Hill Mansion and accompanying grounds. The position requires basic knowledge of historic preservation standards and experience with the management of physical property. The position is part-time (up to 30 hours a week) and the salary is $20 per hour. Benefits include paid time off (vacation, sick leave, and holidays), and contributions to retirement plan.
Training and Experience: Minimum two years’ experience with property management. Working knowledge of the methods and practices of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and security tasks. Basic skills with computers (Microsoft application), carpentry, plumbing, painting, and electrical matters. Experience in supervising outside contractors and consultants. Physical strength, stamina, and coordination to perform a wide variety of job tasks. Familiarity working at a museum, historic site, or comparable setting preferred.
Specific Responsibilities: Reporting to the Executive Director, the Facilities Manager is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the Geneva History Museum, Johnston House, and Rose Hill Mansion and accompanying ground. Duties include regularly examine the status of Historic Geneva’s buildings and grounds; use knowledge to make necessary, routine repairs; review and manage service contracts; arrange routine services; and serve as the primary contact with vendors and contractors. Manage facility-related projects by preparing scopes of work, locating, and receiving bids (or negotiating work) and overseeing the work of independent contractors.
