BDS Waste Disposal is experiencing continued growth and offers an opportunity for a Tire CollectionLaborer with a current Class A or Class B License and two laborers. The Tire Collection Laborer position reports to the Fairfield location. The laborer positions are based at the Tire Processing Facility in Norridgewock.

The Tire Collection Laborer performs a variety of tasks involving physical labor to pick up tires at customer locations for delivery to the BDS tire processing facility or other BDS designated site. The Tire Collection Laborer provides ongoing support to the truck driver through assisting with a variety of jobs: assists driver in maintaining safety and cleanliness of the collection truck; assists driver in safely maneuvering truck into loading or unloading position; loads and unloads truck or assists the truck driver with loading/unloading truck; assists truck driver with directions, documentation and other related duties.

 

The Tire Collection Laborer may have opportunities to expand industry knowledge through on-the-job training and must exhibit a strong interest in tire recycling as a career. High School diploma or equivalent is required. Vocational/Trade School training or prior on-the-job training is preferred. A strong work ethic coupled with desire to learn tire recycling trade is required.  Knowledge and application of effective safety procedures, practices and equipment is required. A strong commitment to being a contributing member of the team is required. Physical strength, dexterity, mechanical ability and alertness are required. Basic reading and math skills required. Current Class A or Class B license required. 0-2 years of experience performing manual labor required.

The Laborer I performs a variety of tasks involving physical labor on assigned site projects. The Laborer I provides ongoing support to other workers through assisting with a variety of jobs. The Laborer I may have opportunities to expand industry knowledge through on-the-job training and must exhibit a strong interest in tire recycling as a career.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Vocational/Trade School training or prior on-the-job training is preferred. A strong work ethic coupled with desire to learn the tire recycling trade is required.  Knowledge and application of effective safety procedures, practices and equipment is required. A strong commitment to being an enthusiastic, contributing member of the team is required. Physical strength, dexterity, mechanical ability and alertness are required. Basic reading and math skills required.  0-2 years of experience performing manual labor required.
