As a Residential Youth Counselor, you will provide daily therapeutic care and programming according to agency policy and governing bodies' (DSS, OMH, JCAHO, etc.) requirements for elementary aged children.. You will work on-site on our Albany campus and will report to the Residential Supervisor.

Responsibilities:

Provide for the physical and psychological needs of clients, including physical safety, hygiene, clothing, food, cooking, medical care, and providing a reliable and nurturing environment.

1:1 Residential Counselor

• You will follow an individual youth’s 1:1 expectations plan, ICMP, and any safety plans in place.

• Engage the youth in activities and conversation that are age appropriate and at the appropriate developmental level.

• Document in writing a summary of each shift.

• Learn the history and specific issues associated with the youth who requires 1:1; will learn how to safely manage any crisis.

• Seek and obtain training in any particular area specific to the youth who requires 1:1care.

• Transport 1:1 client for medical, mental health, and other essential needs.

• You will must be able to work within trauma informed framework of program, including identifying and using coping/safety plans, maintaining consistency, providing regular routine, and controlling own response to youth.

Clinician, Sexual Abuse Treatment Program (SATP)

As a Clinician for The Sexual Abuse Treatment Program (SATP), you will provide assessment and treatment to child victims of sexual abuse and non-offending parents. The Sexual Abuse Treatment Program helps children and non-offending family members in Schenectady County heal from the damaging effects of child sexual abuse. The program's goal is to reduce the trauma experienced by each family member and to help the family adjust and reorganize in a manner to help ensure the healthy development and ongoing protection of the child. You will report to the Program Coordinator and provide therapy services onsite at our SATP office; there is the opportunity to complete documentation remotely. You will work 40 hours a week, Monday - Friday, including one evening shift as determined by our clients’ needs.

Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and family therapy to child victims of sexual abuse and their families.
• Participate in and conduct sexual abuse evaluations.
• Prepare for and provide expert witness testimony in Family Court.
• Complete paperwork properly and within the agency, county, and state guidelines.

Behavior and Campus Support Worker

You will ensure the security of campus and community residential locations, including working with staff, maintaining communication with resident’s family and guardians, and overseeing resident transportation needs. You will report to the Online/Oncall supervisor and you will work on-site.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and ensure implementation of all applicable emergency systems, agency policies, and program procedures.
• Respond to crises within assigned Residential Program/locations. • You will follow an individual youth’s 1:1 expectations plan, ICMP, and any safety plans in place.

Northern Rivers is hiring two full-time, Foster Care Case Managers for Schenectady. As a Case Manager, you will work with the children in care, the Department of Social Services, foster families, and birth families in the journey toward achieving permanency in multiple settings. You will report to the Program Coordinator. Position offers a Flexible schedule with opportunity to work from home approximately 20% throughout the week.

Responsibilities:

• Work with foster and birth families to coordinate all appointments for children, including providing transportation if another plan cannot be found.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Lifeguard – Albany or Schenectady, NY

Starting rate is $22 per hour!Ideal seasonal position with flexible schedule from Memorial Day to Labor Day weekend. Daytime and early evening hours on weekdays and/or weekends.

The Parsons and Northeast residential programs are seeking full-time and part-timeLifeguards to work out of either our Albany or Schenectady campus (applicants may choose their preferred location). Our Lifeguards provide rescue and lifesaving services, teach water safety and swim instruction to children and adolescents in program during the summer months, and help maintain our pools for optimal health and safety.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitor and maintain order in the swimming pool area to prevent accidents
• Rescue swimmers in danger of drowning, administering first aid as needed
• Inspect the swimming facilities at the beginning and end of each shift for cleanliness; monitor and record the chlorine content and pH level of the water
• Provide students with ongoing swimming instruction based on ability level
• Hold students and staff accountable to the rules of the pool area and report any concerns with adherence of these rules to a Residential Supervisor
• Work as needed in other areas of the recreational department during inclement weather
  

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Requires an Advance Life Saving certificate or equivalent (must be a certified Lifeguard)
• Must be at least 18 years of age
