Position Purpose: Patrols buildings and grounds, responds to emergencies and performs related duties designed to promote and ensure a safe and secure environment for all campus and community members.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Safety and Security Patrol: Patrols campus premises on foot or vehicle to ensure the safety and security of students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Identifies and responds to potential security threats, suspicious activities, and safety hazards. Monitors access to campus buildings and facilities and ensures that only authorized individuals enter restricted areas. Directs traffic during peak hours, special events, or emergencies, ensuring smooth flow and pedestrian safety.
Emergency Response: Responds promptly to emergency calls, provides first aid or assistance as needed, and coordinates with other emergency responders when required.
Crime Prevention: Monitors access points, enforces campus policies, and addresses violations like trespassing, vandalism, and theft. Conducts security checks on buildings and facilities.
Investigations: Collects evidence, interviews witnesses, and files detailed reports for further action by campus authorities or law enforcement if necessary.
Safety Training and Awareness: Attends safety workshops, training sessions, and awareness programs related to personal safety, fire safety, and active shooter preparedness.
Communication: Maintains clear and constant communication with other Campus Safety members, campus staff, and local law enforcement to coordinate responses to incidents effectively.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent and one year of experience in a related field.
Associate’s degree in a related field of study may be substituted for work experience.
Valid NYS driver's license.
Current New York State Security Guard registration certification required.
Ability to lift 50 lbs., walk and stand for extended periods, and climbing of stairs.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings.

Job Summary | The Maintenance Mechanic/Plumber performs a wide range of repair and maintenance duties primarily related to plumbing equipment and systems. The Department of Psychology at Union College, Schenectady, New York, invites applications for a three-year visiting faculty position at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor. Area of specialization is less important than teaching and research excellence. Ability to teach, advise, and mentor a diverse population of undergraduates is essential. A PhD in Psychology by the appointment date is required.
Our new colleague will offer 2 courses per trimester (a total of 6 courses per academic year) at a variety of levels, including content courses in their area of expertise. An ability to teach statistics and/or introductory psychology is a plus. We also welcome a colleague with the ability to contribute to the College's General Education curriculum.
We expect that our new colleague will establish and maintain a dynamic research program that involves our undergraduate students. The college and department provide outstanding research support, including internal funding opportunities for both faculty and student research. Shared departmental resources include eye-tracking and electroencephalography (EEG) equipment. The college also maintains an active Faculty Development Program that provides mentorship and various other forms of support towards growing faculty teaching, scholarship, and leadership.

The Program in Religious Studies at Union College seeks to make a tenure-track appointment at the level of Assistant Professor in the area of Religion and Science. The appointee is expected to offer courses in religious studies, including in various aspects of religion and science, for the Religious Studies program, and also selected courses in philosophy for the Philosophy Department. It is also expected that the appointee’s teaching will support the General Education program (https://www.union.edu/general-education). There is an expectation that the appointee would support the work of the Templeton Institute at Union (https://www.union.edu/templeton) and take advantage of research and outreach opportunities afforded them there.
Applicants should have strong grounding in science and in religious studies, as well as hold a PhD in religious studies, philosophy, history, STEM, or other relevant field that interconnects science and the academic study of religion. Candidates who are ABD and will complete their degree by September, 2026 are welcome to apply. Demonstrated experience in teaching across science, philosophy and religion is highly valued, as is evidence of building institutional connections between religious studies and science. The Religious Studies program is particularly interested in candidates who work in the area of AI and spirituality. POSITION OVERVIEW
DIFFERENTIAL PAY
(10%) is paid 5:00 pm - 7:30 am. Monday thru Friday
(20%) is paid 12:00 am - 12:00 am. Saturday and Sunday

As a Residential Youth Counselor, you will provide daily therapeutic care and programming according to agency policy and governing bodies' (DSS, OMH, JCAHO, etc.) requirements for elementary aged children.. You will work on-site on our Albany campus and will report to the Residential Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
1:1 Residential Counselor
Provide for the physical and psychological needs of clients, including physical safety, hygiene, clothing, food, cooking, medical care, and providing a reliable and nurturing environment.
- You will follow an individual youth’s 1:1 expectations plan, ICMP, and any safety plans in place.
- Engage the youth in activities and conversation that are age appropriate and at the appropriate developmental level.
- Document in writing a summary of each shift.
- Learn the history and specific issues associated with the youth who requires 1:1; will learn how to safely manage any crisis.
- Transport 1:1 client for medical, mental health, and other essential needs.
RC1
- You will must be able to work within trauma informed framework of program, including identifying and using coping/safety plans, maintaining consistency, providing regular routine, and controlling own response to youth.
- Engage and form positive relationship with all youth served.
- Complete all mandatory trainings according to programmatic guidelines.
- Display basic competency in TCI techniques.
- Follow outlined program routines, therapeutic plans of youth, and program rules and protocols.
- Work as part of a team including colleague residential counselors, clinicians, on line oncall, supervisors, and other administrative and functional support staff.
- Maintain respectful and appropriate communication with internal and external customers, including county workers, medical staff, parents etc.
