POSITION OVERVIEW
As a Residential Youth Counselor, you will provide daily therapeutic care and programming according to agency policy and governing bodies' (DSS, OMH, JCAHO, etc.) requirements for elementary-aged children. You will work on-site on our Albany campus and will report to the Residential Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
Provide for the physical and psychological needs of clients, including physical safety, hygiene, clothing, food, cooking, medical care, and providing a reliable and nurturing environment.
1:1 Residential Counselor
- You will follow an individual youth’s 1:1 expectations plan, ICMP, and any safety plans in place.
- Engage the youth in activities and conversation that are age appropriate and at the appropriate developmental level.
- Document in writing a summary of each shift.
- Learn the history and specific issues associated with the youth who requires 1:1; will learn how to safely manage any crisis.
- Seek and obtain training in any particular area specific to the youth who requires 1:1care.
- Transport 1:1 client for medical, mental health, and other essential needs.
RC1
- You will must be able to work within trauma informed framework of program, including identifying and using coping/safety plans, maintaining consistency, providing regular routine, and controlling own response to youth.
- Engage and form positive relationship with all youth served.
- Complete all mandatory trainings according to programmatic guidelines.
- Display basic competency in TCI techniques.
- Follow outlined program routines, therapeutic plans of youth, and program rules and protocols.
- Work as part of a team including colleague residential counselors, clinicians, on line oncall, supervisors, and other administrative and functional support staff.
- Maintain respectful and appropriate communication with internal and external customers,including county workers, medical staff, parents etc.
- Complete and maintain documentation to meet programmatic and regulatory standards.
- Transport clients for medical, mental health, and other essential needs.
RC2
All of the above plus the following:
- You will facilitate groups/coached visitation, understanding and applying curriculum and appropriate practice models, i.e. DBT, SAY, etc.
- Take on specific leadership responsibilities for dorm/cottage, including coordinating activities, participating in program-wide committee.
- Must have the ability, skill, and knowledge to take a lead role in a team.
- Form positive relationships with more challenging youth and families.
RC3
All of the above plus the following:
- Display critical thinking and problem solving skills related to residential program needs.
- Display good judgment and decision making related to all program routines, therapeutic plans of youth, and program rules and protocols.
- Lead, delegate, and plan work for other team members.
Requirements and Education:
- HS Diploma/GED required.
- Experience working with emotionally disturbed population.
- A valid, clean driver's license is required.
- Must pass physical.
- Must be able to complete TCI training.
RC 1
Experience with emotionally disturbed population is preferred.
RC 2
At least six months of related experience is required with demonstrated competency in Level 1 essential job duties. One year of related experience is desired.
RC 3
At least one year of related experience is required with demonstrated competency in Level 2 essential job responsibilities. Two years or more related experience is desired.

Job Summary | The HVAC/r & Building Maintenance Technician will perform diversified duties for general building maintenance including carpentry, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and painting. HVAC-r responsibilities include repair, maintenance and installation of refrigeration, air conditioning, chilled water, compressed air, heating and ventilation systems and associated controls. Participates in on-call rotation in accordance with standard operating procedures. |

Job Summary | The Department of Electrical, Computer, and Systems Engineering (ECSE) at RENSSELAER POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE in Troy, NY invites applications for multiple tenured/tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant and Associate Professor levels. The ECSE department is in a period of multi-year growth. We seek individuals with demonstrated potential for excellence in research and teaching, combining innovative methods and compelling applications. Job Summary | The Department of Mechanical, Aerospace, and Nuclear Engineering (MANE) at RENSSELAER POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE in Troy, NY, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Mechanical Engineering. Applications will be considered at the Assistant or early Associate Professor levels. We welcome candidates that will bring additional dimensions to MANE’s research and teaching mission. Job Summary | The Director of Real Estate directs all activities associated with land management/leases; real estate revenue activities; building and land acquisition/sales; building and land appraisals; all Rensselaer property-related tax payments; Rensselaer tax exemption requirements; and special activities, that include leases and subleases of external facilities, fraternity/sorority land/building leases and finances; estate activities and community issues. The Director is responsible for leading real estate and economic development programs to attract diverse and innovative partners to engage on properties owned by the Institution both residential and commercial, inclusive of properties at Rensselaer Technology Park (RTP). This will comprise extensive collaboration with multiple portfolios including the Office of Strategic Alliances and Translation (OSAT), Provost, Student Life, OCEC, and Finance. The Director is responsible to develop programs to attract and maintain tenant occupants of RTP and create a self-funded real estate program. Programs that cultivate community and regional relationships and foster an exchange of ideas between community leaders, industry partners, researchers and students. The Director is responsible for all fiscal management of the RTP and real estate program including operating and capital budget development and financial controls to achieve goals. |

Engage the youth in activities and conversation that are age appropriate and at the appropriate developmental level.
Document in writing a summary of each shift.
Learn the history and specific issues associated with the youth who requires 1:1; will learn how to safely manage any crisis.
Transport 1:1 client for medical, mental health, and other essential needs.
