Certified Teacher Assistants - Sign On Bonus - $1,500
As a Teacher Assistant, you will assist the classroom teacher in all aspects of teaching, behavior management, and supporting students success in school. You will report to the Preschool Supervising Teacher and you will work onsite.
Responsibilities:
- Follow all Agency policies and procedures, along with state and federal regulations pertaining to our school and students.
- Assist the teacher in devising special strategies for reinforcing material or skills based on an understanding of individual students, their needs, interests, and abilities; create and modify materials to match student abilities.
- Work with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of materials to match student abilities.
- Monitor student behavior and help maintain discipline in the classroom; record behavior data as requested; assist with crisis prevention; assist with de-escalation techniques with students.
- Assist in the implementation of behavior plans (BIP); recording behavior data; and the completion of incident reports when requested.
- Monitor, supervise and assist students during non-instructional periods within a variety of school environments (e.g. lunch, recess/breaks, bus loading/unloading, playground, classroom, washroom, field trips, transportation, assemblies, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining a safe and positive learning environment.
- Assist in the implementation of Pyramid Model principles and practices in the classroom to build social and emotional competence and to support children through nurturing and responsive relationships and a high-quality environment.
- Attend meetings, training, professional learning sessions (e.g. first aid, Pyramid, CPR, emergency procedures, behavior management) for the purpose of enhancing professional skills, competencies and to meet regulatory requirements (OCFS regulations require 30 hours in 5 areas over 2 years).
- Perform various clerical duties; maintain records of student progress; develop and file incident reports; maintain student files; check daily attendance; make copies; develop classroom displays and instructional material; maintain and operate computers, smartboards and other classroom equipment.
- Collaborate with teacher and other staff to incorporate information provided by parents, doctors, nurses, therapists and others in order to understand the needs of and provide services for students.
- Assist the teacher(s) with the administration of appropriate assessment tools, tests, and other curriculum measurements.
- Always monitor safety and well-being of students; monitor student attitudes and encourage positive behavior and interactions with peers.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as requested by the teacher and Director.

Athletic Communications Assistant
Pay Status and Classification: Non-exempt, Part-time. This is a ten month term position.
Supervisor: Director of Athletic Communications
Position Purpose: Assists the Athletic Communications Director and Assistant Athletic Communications Director with the promoting and publicizing of athletic events, teams, and athletes to enhance the organization's brand and engage with fans, media, and the public.
This is ten month term position. Compensation includes an hourly rate plus college housing and a residential meal allowance which includes a partial meal plan available for use when the dining halls are open during the fall, winter, and spring trimesters.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Content Creation: Creates engaging and compelling multimedia content, such as videos, graphics, and photos, to enhance storytelling and promote the organization. Produces written content for various communication channels, including websites, social media platforms, newsletters, and publications. Collaborates with designers, photographers, videographers, and other creative professionals to produce high-quality content.
- Social Media Management: Develops and implements social media strategies to increase engagement, followership, and brand awareness. Monitors social media platforms, responds to comments and messages, and manages online reputation. Analyzes social media metrics and generates reports to assess the effectiveness of communication efforts and make data-driven decisions.
- Communication Strategy: Develops and implements strategic communication plans to promote athletic events, teams, and athletes. Identifies target audiences and creates tailored messaging and content to effectively reach them. Coordinates with internal stakeholders, such as coaches, athletes, and administrators, to gather information and stories for communication purposes.
- Team Development and Innovation: Contributes ideas, input, and support to Union Athletics initiatives, decisions, communications, and other activities. Seeks out, applies, and shares knowledge of communications trends and innovations.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field and experience working in a collegiate Athletic Communications and/or a combination of relevant education, training, certifications, and/or work experience.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of sports, athletics, and industry trends.
- Proficiency in digital and social media platforms.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.

- Physical requirements: Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand, bend and stoop for extended periods of time.

Compensation
The hourly rate for this position is $15.50. Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The stated hiring rate/range represents the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Assistant Athletic Trainer
Pay Status and Classification: Exempt, Regular full-time. This is a 12 month position.
Supervisor: Head Athletic Trainer/Student-Athlete Program Director
Position Purpose: Under the supervision of the Head Athletic Trainer, the Assistant Athletic Trainer supports the athletic department by providing care to student-athletes including injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation.
Union College sponsors 26 intercollegiate sports, 24 in Division III, with Ice Hockey competing at Division I. Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Injury Prevention, Rehabilitation, and Treatment: Develop and implement injury prevention programs. Provide first aid and emergency care when necessary. Evaluate and diagnose athletic injuries. Design and monitor rehabilitation programs for injured student athletes. Provides therapeutic treatment such as taping, bracing, and modalities.
- Communication and Collaboration: Educate student athletes on care and prevention of athletic injuries. Provide guidance on proper conditioning techniques. Communicate effectively with coaches and student athletes about injury status and progress. Coordinates with physicians and healthcare providers as needed.
- Administration: Provides support with the daily operations of the athletic training room and assists with the supervision of work study students. Electronic medical record keeping of athletic injuries, treatments, and rehabilitation progress.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or a related field required. Master’s degree and experience with National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) regulations and compliance knowledge preferred.
- National Athletic Trainers Association certified and in good standing with the Board of Certification (BOC) for athletic trainers.
- First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, and Automated External Defibrillator certifications required.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Ability to work in inclement weather.

Compensation
The annual salary range this position is $67,000 - $69,000. Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Job Summary | The Lally School of Management at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute seeks applications for a tenure-track (or tenured) faculty position at the Associate Professor level in Business Analytics/Supply Chain Management starting Fall 2024. Candidates must have a PhD degree from an accredited university in Analytics, Operations Research, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a closely related field, along with demonstrated evidence to produce original and innovative scholarly work with publications in premier business journals. The successful candidate will join the School either as a tenure-track assistant professor, or as an associate professor, based on teaching and research experience and success. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated potential and commitment to effective teaching in our graduate and undergraduate degree programs in supply chain and business analytics, as well as provide service to the School of Management and to Rensselaer. The position requires excellence in research in the area of supply chain and analytics, effective written communication skills, and strong technical skills in areas such as analytical modeling, data management, machine learning and computation. Demonstrated interest in emerging technologies including artificial intelligence and Blockchain and in topics relevant to global shifts in supply chains would be a plus. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage with and develop research initiatives aligned both within the Lally School and with the new strategic research initiatives at Rensselaer. Job Summary | The Department of Physics, Applied Physics, and Astronomy at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the field of Quantum Computing, Quantum Information, and Quantum Technology, with focus on the fundamental aspects or applications of quantum computation, scalability, and error correction on current and future quantum computing devices. Research areas can include but not limited to quantum entanglement, decoherence, and noise in quantum networks, with applications to quantum cryptography, quantum encryption, and secure quantum communications in noisy environments. Possible related areas would also include studying and exploiting the fundamental connections between Quantum Monte Carlo and Quantum Computing, simulating quantum field theory and many-body theory with a quantum computer (in particular, simulating systems with a “sign” problem), quantum communication networks, exotic quantum dynamics, quantum sensing protocols, exotic quantum phases of matter, and theory on the nature of information at the quantum level. With the anticipated of arrival of the IBM Quantum System One on our campus, this hire will have access to explore and implement some of these challenging problems. This hire would be part of a bold effort at RPI to strengthen and extend our current faculty cluster in Quantum Information, and would interact with our current faculty on quantum optics and photon entanglement, quantum field-theory, quantum fluctuations in networks, as well as with researchers from Computer Science, ECSE, Future of Computing Institute, and with the future hires of the recently announced Quantum Constellation. The position also represents a response to federal priorities expressed in the National Quantum Initiative Act. The successful candidate will establish/maintain and externally funded research program, participate in collaborative, multi-investigator research and research training initiatives, and contribute to the high impact teaching program in the Department of Physics, Applied Physics, and Astronomy. Job Summary | The Department of Biological Sciences at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY invites applications for tenure-track/tenured faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate, or full Professor levels. We seek passionate and innovative individuals with demonstrated potential to establish a strong externally funded research program and contribute to the teaching mission of the department. All exceptional candidates will be considered, and we encourage applications from individuals who will bring a unique research approach and skill set to address fundamental problems in neurobiology, cell and developmental, biology, broadly defined. Successful candidates will complement the department research strengths in cellular neuroscience, circadian biology, molecular motors & cytoskeleton dynamics, muscle physiology & disease, neurodegeneration, protein design, folding, structure & functional dynamics, protein misfolding in human disease, microbiology & host-pathogen interactions, biophysics of extreme environments, and freshwater ecology & climate change. The successful candidate will be expected to establish/maintain an externally funded research program, participate in collaborative, multi-investigator research and research training initiatives, and contribute to the high impact teaching program in the Department of Biological Sciences. The successful candidate will join the faculty in the 218,000 square foot Center for Biotechnology and Interdisciplinary Studies (CBIS), which contains staff-supported core facilities and promotes an atmosphere for interdisciplinary collaboration. The Institute for Data Exploration and Applications (IDEA) enables an opportunity to partner with faculty that are at the forefront of biological data analytics, enabling the modeling and simulation power to advance the quantitative and systems biology approaches that are widely employed in the department. IDEA and the Center for Computational Innovation provide collaborative opportunities to use the fastest supercomputer found at a private university. More recently, Rensselaer and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai launched the Center for Engineering and Precision Medicine (CEPM) in New York City to engage in both fundamental and translational biomedical research both in New York City and the Troy campus, expanding collaborative opportunities with a world class medical school for Rensselaer faculty. **Sign On Bonus $5,000** (paid in 2 parts 1/2 at 30 days and1/2 at a year)
As a Special Education Teacher, you will develop and implement classroom instructional plans for students and support students success in academic and behavioral goals. You will report to the Assistant Principal and you will work onsite.
Responsibilities:
- Follow all Agency policies and procedures, along with state and federal regulations about our school and students.
- Develop and implement a classroom instructional plan based on a students IEP and grade and subject area curricula; work with content area teachers to ensure that their lessons are differentiated as to meet the needs of all students.
- Develop and implement Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs) for all students on your caseload. Ensure that accommodations and modifications are provided. Provide specially designed instruction and monitor student progress toward academic and behavioral goals. Complete progress reports and IEP updates, and participate in CSE meetings as scheduled.
- Coordinate the creation of special strategies for reinforcing material or skills based on an understanding of individual students, their needs, interests, and abilities; create and modify materials to match student abilities.
- Develop and coordinate the implementation of single and classroom behavior plans for managing student behavior to maintain discipline in the classroom; oversee the collecting of behavior data; assist classroom staff with crisis prevention and intervention techniques; assist classroom staff with de-escalation techniques; teach students appropriate behavior strategies.
Requirements and Education:
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in Special Education (Master's Degree preferred) or subject area, and ability to work with students who demonstrate serious emotional and behavioral challenges, ages 6-21. General education certification with enrollment in a program that leads to special education certification may be considered.

As a Youth Peer Advocate, you will be an ally, mentor, and advocate for clients and families as they contend with the difficulties and uncertainties of mental illness. You will use lived experience to contribute to treatment planning for each participant, and facilitating the team’s development and maintenance of a culture of respect. The Youth Assertive Community Treatment team (ACT) Program is an innovative treatment program. The program serves children with mental illness or serious emotional disturbance and their families. You will report to the Director of Youth Act and work onsite with community-based travel required.
Responsibilities:
- Engage individuals and establish trusting, collaborative relationships directed toward the goals clients identify on their treatment plans
- Contribute to client treatment plans, advocating for clients' needs
- Participate in daily treatment team meetings and work directly with other team members to provide support and assistance to program participants.
- Provide individual face-to-face support to youth and families receiving services
- Spend 70% or more of scheduled work hours in community settings
- Meet with family, youth, and collateral contacts to provide psychoeducation about serious mental illness
- Be a role model, educate recipients about self-help techniques and self-help group processes, teach effective coping strategies based on personal experience, teach symptom management skills, assist in clarifying rehabilitation and recovery goals, and assist in the development of community support systems and networks.
Requirements and Education:
- High School Diploma or GED, Associates Degree preferred
- A valid New York State driver’s license.
- Complete and obtain the NYCPS-Provisional certification for review by the New York Peer Specialist Certification Board (NYPSCB) within the agreed-upon time of start date.
