Job Summary | The Department of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) at RENSSELAER POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE in Troy, NY, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or tenured Associate Professor position in Materials Science and Engineering with expertise and potential in the broad area of bulk/thin film metallic materials. Job Summary | The Sr. Major Gift Officer (MGO) will serve as the Senior Regional Director of Development for the Southwest Region of the United States and will be responsible for developing a regular cadence of strategic opportunities focused on engaging existing and prospective major donors with the end goal of qualifying, soliciting, and closing major gifts. Job Summary | The Procurement Agent is responsible for ensuring that supplier data is accurate, up to date, and in compliance with Institute policies. The Agent assists with evaluating and negotiating small dollar procurements, consistent with Rensselaer policies. Major Gifts Officer / Senior Major Gifts Officer
Pay Status and Classification: Exempt, Regular full-time. This is a 12 month position. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
Supervisor: Director of Major Gifts
Position Purpose:
Plays a pivotal role in advancing fundraising endeavors at Union College by engaging in the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major donors capable of making significant financial contributions ranging from $20,000.00 to $1,000,000.00 to bolster the institution's mission and strategic objectives.
Develops and executes strategic plans aimed at optimizing each donor's support of the College, collaborating with the Director, Vice President of College Relations, President, Senior Administration, and Faculty as appropriate to nurture robust relationships with the College.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Relationship Management: Proactively establishes opportunities for face-to-face interactions to cultivate, solicit, and steward a designated portfolio of 100-150 current and prospective donors, adhering to industry best practices. Develops detailed cultivation and solicitation plans annually for the top 25-50 donor prospects, incorporating opportunities for current use pledges and planned giving to drive philanthropic engagement. Nurtures enduring relationships with major donors by delivering exceptional stewardship and personalized engagement experiences.
- Knowledge of Union: Cultivates a comprehensive understanding of Union’s history, academic, extracurricular, and athletic programs, along with familiarity with faculty, students, and administration. Maintains a deep awareness of the College’s priorities and initiatives, translating them into fundraising opportunities, while staying informed about trends and developments in higher education as an industry.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Collaborates closely with campus stakeholders to ensure synergy with fundraising priorities, fostering a cohesive approach toward advancing the College's overarching mission. Aligns efforts with the division’s goals and strategies related to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) and anti-racism, fostering a culture of collaboration and collective impact. Partners closely with colleagues across all advancement departments to achieve integrated advancement operations, leveraging this synergy to increase alumni participation in fundraising initiatives.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree, and a minimum of two years of experience fundraising in a higher education setting is required.
- A valid U.S. driver license is required.
- Proven experience cultivating and closing major or deferred gift commitments is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational acumen essential for effective planning, gift documentation, and project execution.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally via various modes of transportation, including car, air, train, or bus.
- Ability to work a non-traditional schedule, including weekends, evenings, and other unconventional hours.
- Proven ability as a self-starting strategic thinker, characterized by persistence, personable nature, teamwork, and a drive for success.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain composure under pressure in a goal-driven environment, coupled with proficiency in analytical thinking and problem-solving, and the ability to synthesize complex information and data.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, along with flexibility, collaboration, and a positive demeanor.
- Proficiency in basic data management systems and prospect moves management platforms, as well as fundamental computer applications like EverTrue, Google Docs, Sheets, etc.
- The ability to foster and enhance a thriving, culturally diverse, and inclusive learning community, while promoting a sense of belonging among students, alumni, faculty, and staff colleagues.

Compensation
Major Gifts Officer: The annual salary range for the Major Gifts Officer is $70,000.00-$80,000.00.
Senior Major Gifts Officer: The annual salary range for the Senior Major Gifts Officer is $93,000.00-$97,000.00.
Depending on the candidate's experience, candidates may be considered for either the Major Gifts Officer or Senior Major Gifts Officer position.
Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Job Summary | The Program Administrator, Sr manages activities of the Center of Excellence in Digital Game Development at RPI, also known as the Digital Gaming Hub, administered through the Games and Simulation Arts and Sciences Program in the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences. Position Purpose: Assist with managing library materials in collection and with digital projects
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Participate in special projects pertaining to the CDLS department.
- Independently scan historical and contemporary material using an overhead and flatbed scanner.
- Assist the Digital Projects and Metadata Librarian, Digital Collections and Preservation Librarian, and Metadata Specialist with image capture, quality assurance, and spreadsheet work as necessary.
- Process all designated cataloged material that is received, in a variety of formats and languages, according to departmental instructions.
- Review records and spreadsheets for quality assurance benchmarks.
- Comply with CDLS policies and procedures, including a commitment to a set work schedule for the term and notify supervisors in advance of any scheduling changes.
Qualifications:
- Highly detail oriented.
- Ability to work well independently and follow detailed written instructions.
- Moderate to high comfort levels with technology, file management, and software like Excel, Google Sheets, or Photoshop desirable.

The rate for this position is $15.00 per hour. POSITION OVERVIEW
Our Maintenance Workers take pride in preventative maintenance, repairing of buildings, grounds and equipment. You would beworkingfrom 7:30amto 4:00pm, Monday through Friday, or as needed for snow removal.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for removal of snow on property.
- Perform tasks related to maintenance slips and project work, will be available for off hours work such as snow removal and other emergencies and are willing to work irregular hours as needed.
- Assume primary responsibility for the maintenance of a specific Agency building, or for the provision of a specific Department function (e.g. automotive or grounds).
- Perform repairs to plumbing, electric wiring, furniture, doors and windows, hardware, varied mechanical equipment, machinery, install shelves, new hardware and do skilled painting.
- Inspectproperty to ascertain safety and repair needs.
- Order repair parts.
- Perform specialized tasks related to one or more of the standard building trades, or perform automotive maintenance on Agency vehicles along with performing other duties as assigned by the Supervisor of Building and Grounds.
Education and/or Experience
- HS diploma preferred.
- Training certification in skilled trades desired.
- Must have a valid New York State driver’s license.One year's experience in one of the recognized skilled trades or two years of experience in either general buildingconstruction or automotive maintenance.
- Must be able to use the tools, equipment and materials of the building and grounds department, and to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions.

Job Summary | The Groundskeeper performs grounds and landscape duties, snow removal and equipment operations associated with the maintenance of the campus grounds and athletic fields and support all campus wide events. |
Minimum Qualifications | High School/Equivalent and one (1) year of experience in landscape maintenance including operation of grounds related equipment Valid US driver’s license Relevant combinations of education, training and experience will be considered. |
Preferred Qualifications | Experience in operating snow removal equipment |

Shift | Business Hours with weekends or evenings occasionally required |
Travel | Local travel between campus locations only |
Driving | Driving a Rensselaer vehicle for non-passenger use |
Salary Range/Rate | Expected hiring range: $17.00 + .10 cents per year of experience Pay transparency disclosure: The selected candidate’s salary will be determined based on factors that include the available budget, internal equity, and the final candidate’s qualifications, experience, education and other job-related credentials. This hiring range is provided as Rensselaer’s good faith estimate of the expected hiring range at the time of posting. |
