We are looking for some great people to join our Education team as Teacher Assistants and Teacher Aides. In the position as Teacher Assistant, we ask that you be certified by NYS as a Teacher Assistant as the salary is higherwith this certificationthan the Teacher Aide.
Sign on Bonus - Certified Teacher Assistants- $1,500
Sign on Bonus - Teacher Aide - $1,000
As a Teacher Aide, you will assist the classroom teacher in all aspects of behavior management and supporting students success in school. You will work onsite.
Responsibilities:
- Follow all Agency policies and procedures, along with state and federal regulations pertaining to our school and students.
- Monitor student behavior and help maintain discipline in the classroom; record behavior data as requested; assist with crisis prevention; assist with de-escalation techniques with students.
- Help implement behavior plans (BIP); record behavior data; and the completion of incident reports when requested.
- Monitor, supervise and assist students during non-instructional periods within a variety of school environments (e.g. lunch, recess/breaks, bus loading/unloading, playground, classroom, washroom, field trips, transportation, assemblies) to maintain a safe and positive learning environment.
- Help implement classroom PBIS universal components and Tier 2 and Tier 3 strategies for selected students.
- Attend meetings, training, professional learning sessions (e.g. first aid, TCI, CPR, emergency procedures, behavior management) to enhance professional skills and competencies.
- Perform clerical duties; maintain records of student progress; develop and file incident reports; maintain student files; check daily attendance; make copies; develop classroom displays and instructional material; maintain and operate computers, smartboards and other classroom equipment.
- Collaborate with teacher and other staff to incorporate information provided by parents, doctors, nurses, therapists and others to understand the needs of and provide services for students.
- Always monitor safety and well-being of students; monitor student attitudes and encourage positive behavior and interactions with peers.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as requested by the teacher and principal
Requirements and Education:
- High School Diploma required
- Ability to work with students who demonstrate serious emotional and behavioral challenges, ages 6-21

Certified Teacher Assistants - Sign On Bonus - $1,500
As a Teacher Assistant, you will assist the classroom teacher in all aspects of teaching, behavior management, and supporting students success in school. You will report to the Preschool Supervising Teacher and you will work onsite.
Responsibilities:

- Assist the teacher in devising special strategies for reinforcing material or skills based on an understanding of individual students, their needs, interests, and abilities; create and modify materials to match student abilities.
- Work with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of materials to match student abilities.
- Monitor student behavior and help maintain discipline in the classroom; record behavior data as requested; assist with crisis prevention; assist with de-escalation techniques with students.
- Assist in the implementation of behavior plans (BIP); recording behavior data; and the completion of incident reports when requested.
- Monitor, supervise and assist students during non-instructional periods within a variety of school environments (e.g. lunch, recess/breaks, bus loading/unloading, playground, classroom, washroom, field trips, transportation, assemblies, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining a safe and positive learning environment.
- Assist in the implementation of Pyramid Model principles and practices in the classroom to build social and emotional competence and to support children through nurturing and responsive relationships and a high-quality environment.
- Attend meetings, training, professional learning sessions (e.g. first aid, Pyramid, CPR, emergency procedures, behavior management) for the purpose of enhancing professional skills, competencies and to meet regulatory requirements (OCFS regulations require 30 hours in 5 areas over 2 years).
- Perform various clerical duties; maintain records of student progress; develop and file incident reports; maintain student files; check daily attendance; make copies; develop classroom displays and instructional material; maintain and operate computers, smartboards and other classroom equipment.
- Collaborate with teacher and other staff to incorporate information provided by parents, doctors, nurses, therapists and others in order to understand the needs of and provide services for students.
- Assist the teacher(s) with the administration of appropriate assessment tools, tests, and other curriculum measurements.
- Always monitor safety and well-being of students; monitor student attitudes and encourage positive behavior and interactions with peers.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as requested by the teacher and Director.

Professional Development Coordinator (R24-26)

Description of Duties (This is a brief summary of the hiring department and the duties of the role):
The Professional Development Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating training related aspects of the Public Health Infrastructure project with the NYSDOH, including assuring that the deliverables are met on time and within budget. The coordinator will also serve as a member of the Center for Public Health Education team in overall planning an organizational improvement.
Minimum Qualifications (Both measurable and soft skill requirements):
- Bachelor’s degree from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization in a health profession, nursing, health education, public health, human services, social work, adult education, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the coordination of a public health or human services based training and professional development program
- Experience implementing a training plan or timeline.
- Experience working with a team of professionals to accomplish project-based deliverables
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects.
- Evidence of organizational skills and strong attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Experience working with state agencies

- Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles/theory
- Professional staff supervision experience
