Description
As a Family Support Worker, you will provide parenting education and support to families. Healthy Families is a home visiting program designed to assist parents in either enhancing or learning the skills that enable them to provide a safe, healthy and nurturing environment for their children. You will report to the Healthy Families Supervisor and you will work onsite with community-based travel required.
Responsibilities:
- Establish positive and professional relationships with families and provide services in their home.
- Utilize appropriate curricula and support materials to educate families on positive parent-child interaction and child development.
- Model and demonstrate problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Assist families in becoming more discerning consumers of community services and make referrals as need arise.
- Participate in the development of a service plan for each family.
- Ensure that families have identified a primary healthcare provider and are receiving essential medical services.
- Responsibly perform duties associated with special program services i.e. FRC, special events, etc.
- Complete assigned paperwork as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements and Education:
- High School Diploma
- Two years of work experience in human services.
- Experience with parenting education and/or early childhood development, preferred.
- Must have a valid NYS driver’s license, safe driving record, and have access to a vehicle for full-time business use.

Position description:
The Department of Psychology at Union College, Schenectady, New York, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor specializing in Neuroscience. Ph.D. in Neuroscience or related field is required; degree in hand by appointment date is preferable. Area of research specialization is less important than research that is programmatic and theoretically directed toward understanding the human brain. Areas of research that would complement our existing department include any using neuroscientific and/or computational neuroscientific approaches to study: sensation and perception; cognition broadly; memory; complex cognition; diversity; culture; social/emotional cognition; judgment and decision making; and/or neuroeconomics. Ability to teach, advise, and mentor a diverse population of undergraduates is essential. Please note: Our department is also hiring for the position of Assistant Professor in COGNITIVE PSYCHOLOGY. Our new colleague will offer 2 courses per trimester at a variety of levels, including a combination of some of the following: introductory psychology, statistics, introductory neuroscience, lab courses in cognitive neuroscience and/or sensation and perception, as well as an upper-level neuroscience seminar within the applicant’s domain, and/or other courses that could contribute to Union’s College’s interdisciplinary Neuroscience major.

We expect that our new colleague will establish and maintain a vibrant Neuroscience research program that involves our undergraduate students. Position Purpose: The Shift Sergeant for evening-shift serves as the primary shift supervisor, providing leadership, direction, and operational oversight to Campus Safety Officers and Control Officers assigned to evening-shift operations. This position ensures consistent enforcement of departmental and College policies, coordination of daily operations, and the accurate completion of reports and documentation.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Administrative and Supervisory Duties
Review all incident reports submitted by your shift in the Maxient Reporting System and recommend approval to the Director and Information Systems Specialist.
Complete performance evaluations for officers assigned to the 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. shift.
Attend staff meetings and other scheduled meetings as directed by the Director.
Assume relief duties of Campus Safety Officers and Control Officers as needed.
Administrative duties, such as interviewing, hiring, scheduling, and approving timecards.
In the absence of the Director, assume an advisory role on the President’s Safety and Security Committee.
Participate in new employee and student orientation sessions as requested.
Supervise students in the Student Escort Program.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director.
Crime Prevention and Community Engagement
Develop and implement campus-wide training and educational materials to promote safety and compliance.
Conduct crime evaluations and analyses to identify trends and recommend preventative measures.
Establish the department’s priority crime prevention programs.
Act as the Department’s Public Relations Officer; representing the department in community outreach efforts, communicating safety information, building trust, and promoting the department’s public image.
Review and advise on Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) initiatives.
Conduct security surveys and audits to identify areas for improvement.
Security and Patrol
Conduct inspections of campus lighting and telephone systems to ensure functionality and safety.
Prepare inspection and repair reports for the Director.
Collaborate with the Facilities Department to review campus plans.
Ensure all assigned officers perform their duties according to department policy and procedures.
Emergency Management and Response
Assist in developing emergency management programs, response plans, and training exercises.
Ensure readiness and coordination during emergency situations in collaboration with campus departments and local agencies.
Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice or a related field preferred; comparable experience or certifications may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Valid NYS driver’s license.
Current NYS Security Guard registration required.
Valid NYS Public Safety Officer certification preferred, but not required.
Completion of supervisor training within the first year of employment.
Ability to lift 50 lbs., walk and stand for extended periods, and climb stairs.

As a Family Peer Advocate, you will help children with emotional and mental health challenges through support and advocacy with parents and caregivers. You will report to the Program Manager, Community Solutions and Peer Support and you will work onsite with travel required.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support, advocacy and resources to the family based on the child's needs as identified by the parent/caregiver
- Provide services within a Family-driven Care framework, including respecting family choice and voice, believing in each family’s potential to learn and grow, and utilizing strategies that empower families

Information Technology Services (ITS), the central IT provider at the University at Albany, seeks applicants for a Desktop and Mobile Computing (D&MC) Senior Endpoint Management Specialist. ITS manages and supports nearly 7,000 university-owned faculty/staff, classroom, conference room, and research lab desktops and mobile devices. The D&MC Endpoint Management Specialist is a senior position that is key to continuous improvement and delivery of services in this large-scale operation.
The D&MC Senior Endpoint Management Specialist is a subject matter expert in desktop and mobile computing and provides technical leadership within service teams. They address and resolve complex and non-standard requests and issues. They develop and maintain strong expertise in enterprise management applications and tools (i.e., Active Directory, MECM, AllSight, Jamf, etc.) and steer the selection and usage of each in achieving ITS' goals and adhering to ITS' principles and standards.

The successful Senior Endpoint Management Specialist independently identifies process challenges and recommends and assists in implementing actionable improvements and solutions to the D&MC Manager. Under the leadership and direction of the D&MC Manager, the Senior Endpoint Management Specialist is responsible for ensuring internal and customer-facing documentation is created, accurate, and updated regularly. They understand the value of documentation in promoting clarity and cohesion for large service teams.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Enterprise management applications and tools (i.e., Active Directory, MECM, AllSight, Jamf, etc.)
• Ensure that all enterprise desktop and mobile device management applications and tools are maintained, and versions updated in a timely fashion and adhere to ITS standards, controls, security policies and procedures.
• Build and maintain advanced technical expertise in ITS' enterprise desktop and mobile device management applications and tools.

• Maintain, provide reports and update replacement schedule and replacement cost fields in the asset inventories for all supported service areas to support budgeting and planning processes.
• Endpoints service standards, efficient operations and consistent user experiences
• Provide subject matter expertise, oversee and continuously evaluate hardware and software deployment and support processes, their effectiveness and recommend improvements.
• Determine and document the standard workstation and printer models and configurations for various use cases including fac/staff, classrooms, conference rooms, research labs; refresh standards, as needed.
• Oversee the internal and external documentation and maintain all approved desktop and mobile computing standards for the University.
• Regularly report on workstation hardware, operating systems, software, and printers at risk or outside of defined standards and work to resolve.
• Determine and document operating system versions used for deployments; determine and manage upgrade cycles.

Position description:
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering welcomes applicants with a commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and mentoring undergraduates in the field of Environmental Engineering. The CEE Department currently has expertise in the areas of water quality, soil and sediment remediation, risk assessment, hydrology, sustainable treatment, water and wastewater management, and contaminant fate and transport processes. We are looking to expand and diversify our areas of focus into areas associated with the broad topic of air (e.g., air quality, climate change, atmospheric interactions, air pollution management, environmental change and adaptation, aerosol-climate interactions, wildfire-atmosphere interactions, wind power meteorology, and/or climate engineering). Experience working directly with communities is a plus. The new hire will teach courses in the curriculum as appropriate, including core classes such as Thermofluids, Introduction to Environmental Engineering and/or Contaminant Fate and Transport, as well as the development and teaching of upper level environmental engineering electives in their area of expertise. In addition, there is an expectation that all new hires in the Department will teach at least one course annually to non-engineers ideally as part of the College’s new Complex Questions/Global Challenges and Social Justice common curriculum. The new hire will also be heavily involved in the ABET accreditation process which includes opportunities for curriculum development and assessment.
The successful candidate will also have a strong interest in interdisciplinary collaboration. The CEE department has a close relationship with the Environmental Science, Policy, and Engineering Program. In addition, consistent with Union’s goal to break new ground with respect to integrating engineering fields with the liberal arts, we also welcome applicants who are eager to explore joint programming possibilities with departments and programs in the humanities and social sciences.
All candidates must have an earned Ph.D. degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related Engineering field; applicants close to finishing their Ph.D. will be considered. Preference will also be given to those who have a demonstrated interest in undergraduate teaching. Compensation
The annual salary range for this position is $93,000-$96,000. Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The stated hiring rate/range represents the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
