Position Title: Bursar
Pay Status and Classification: Exempt, Regular Full-time
Supervisor: Controller
Position Purpose: The Bursar oversees the overall operations of student financial services, billing, receivables, and cashiering functions of the College. Provides direction and leadership in financial management, fiscal policies, and internal controls related to the Bursar’s function. Represents the College to various internal departments as well as external agencies such as governmental agencies, vendors, students, and parents.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Manage a streamlined and accurate billing, payment, and cash management operation for the College.
Process weekly transmittals and reconciliations for Student Accounts, Admissions Deposits, outside scholarships, and student account refunds
Direct and manage the duties of the Assistant Bursar and Cashier
Direct and manage third party billing and payments such as ROTC, Yellow Ribbon, and AmeriCorps
Ensure clear communications to students regarding billing
Evaluate policies and procedures necessary for the effective management of student accounts receivable
Coordinate and work collaboratively with others to ensure accurate information on enrolled students for billing purposes
Ensure compliance with college, state, and federal regulations concerning student records
Responsible for managing student loan programs, including Perkins and college loans
Prepare and conduct exit interviews for all withdrawing and/or graduating students
Maintain a working knowledge of innovative methods for doing business with local and national payment plan and collection agencies
Determine when past due accounts should be placed with third party agencies, when to negotiate payment terms and when to pursue legal action.
Ensure the accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable aging components including billings, cash receipts, loan service management, reporting, and reconciliations
Direct and manage all PayPal transactions
Coordinate student insurance programs with various campus departments, maintaining clear processes for charging and waiving insurance using both Union’s software in tandem with the Insurance Agency portal
Responsible for tax reporting related to student accounts including 1098T Tuition
Reconcile and maintain all miscellaneous accounts receivables
Prepare reports and analyses as requested by the Controller and others related to student accounts and receivables
Work with external professionals such as auditors, consultants, attorneys and collection agencies and governmental entities
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required
Minimum of 7 years of experience in college financial policies and procedures, with a strong foundation in accounts receivable, customer service, and cash management practices
Strong supervisory skills
Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations
Ability to organize, implement, and administer complex record keeping systems and procedures
Energy and enthusiasm to support a culture of change while ensuring a stable financial framework. This includes the ability to articulate strategies, implement policies, assess the need for process improvements, identify creative solutions, and lead systems changes
Must be highly organized and detail oriented
Demonstrated commitment to open collaboration and customer service, strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to prioritize workload, manage multiple tasks, and consistently meet deadlines
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite(specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook), Google applications and student information systems. Experience working with Ellucian Colleague preferred.
Compensation:
The annual salary range for this position is $72,000-$75,000. Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Title: Director of International Student Services
Pay Status and Classification: Exempt, Regular Full-time
Supervisor: Head Class Dean
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Documentation and Compliance: Issues immigration documents and processes applications through the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS). Maintains accurate records of international students immigration documentation within SEVIS and College systems. Ensures compliance with federal regulations and College policies pertaining to international students. Guides students through new employee hiring processes for on-campus employment, including applying for a social security number. Works closely with Class Deans to ensure proper understanding and application of regulations and policies, taking appropriate initiative and exercising discretion within the scope of assigned duties.
Student Advising and Support:Advises and assists international students on a variety of matters including immigration and visa regulations and applications, cultural adjustment, personal matters, financial concerns, and College procedures. Programming and Engagement: Oversees the development and execution of orientation programs for new international students. Works with other departments to provide tailored programming to ensure students understand Title IX, the Code of Conduct, and the Honor Code. Creates and implements initiatives beyond orientation that support the retention, well-being, and academic success of international students. Collaborates with campus partners to enhance career readiness, wellness, cultural exchange, and social engagement opportunities.
Administration:Develops and implements a comprehensive strategy for international student services. Maintains and updates policies and procedures. Produces departmental communications, including newsletters, website content, and student resources. Manages the department budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources. Manages programming and event logistics. Actively participates in professional development on the regulations governing international students about College policies and procedures that ensure ongoing compliance.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree and experience working with international students in higher education, and/or a combination of relevant education, training, certifications, and/or work experience. A Master’s degree is preferred.
Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident in order to serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) and an Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO), as required by federal regulations.
Strong knowledge of SEVIS, F-1 and J-1 visa regulations, and international student compliance requirements.

Position Title: Payroll Specialist

Immediate Supervisor: Director of Payroll
Position Purpose: This position is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance requirements are met, promotes effective, efficient work processes and aligns with the strategic goals of the College.

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering welcomes applicants with a commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and mentoring undergraduates in the field of Environmental Engineering. The CEE Department currently has expertise in the areas of water quality, risk assessment, and hydrology. We are looking to expand and diversify our areas of focus into, but not limited to research in the areas of: Air Quality, Waste Management, Soils and Remediation Technologies, and/or Energy and Environmental Sustainability. Experience working directly with communities is a plus. The new hire will teach courses in the curriculum as appropriate, including core classes and upper-level courses appropriate for their area of expertise such as Introduction to Environmental Engineering and/or Contaminant Fate and Transport, as well as upper environmental engineering electives. In addition, there is an expectation that all new hires in the Department will teach at least one course annually to non-engineers ideally as part of the College’s new Complex Questions/Global Challenges and Social Justice common curriculum. The new hire will also be heavily involved in the ABET accreditation process which includes opportunities for curriculum development and assessment.
The successful candidate will also have a strong interest in interdisciplinary collaboration. The CEE department has a close relationship with the Environmental Science, Policy, and Engineering Program. In addition, consistent with Union’s goal to break new ground with respect to integrating engineering fields with the liberal arts, we also welcome applicants who are eager to explore joint programming possibilities with departments and programs in the humanities and social sciences, including with interdisciplinary programs that operate in DEIB spaces with respect to curriculum (e.g., Africana Studies, Asian Studies, Law and Humanities, Latin American and Caribbean Studies, and Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies).
All candidates must have an earned Ph.D. degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering; applicants close to finishing their Ph.D. will be considered.

Clinician, Mobile Crisis - Days
Differential Pay Available!

As a Clinician for Mobile Crisis, you will be providing crisis risk assessments with a diagnosis (with appropriate supervisory approval, per scope of practice), crisis stabilization and interventions, de-escalation techniques and follow-up services to the identified client experiencing emotional, behavioral, and psychiatric crises. These interventions, provided by telephone and on-site mobile visits, will be implemented using a strength-based, trauma-informed, systems-oriented perspective and will include the development of crisis prevention and safety plans; follow-up to evaluate the effectiveness of plans; coordination of services with existing treatment providers; and linkage to additional community-based therapeutic resources and supports. You will directly report to the Clinical Site Supervisors with Director and Executive Program Director guidance and support. You will work on-site with travel to the community and individuals' homes.
Responsibilities:
- Provide rapid response to adults, children, adolescents, and families, who are in crisis, experiencing an emotional or behavioral disturbance by phone and on-site within the community, and as assigned, participate in acute care emergency services rotation system designed to facilitate and strengthen community-based crisis intervention services. This includes rotation of schedule to provide coverage during holidays and weekends.
- Conduct risk assessments with a diagnosis (with appropriate supervisory approval, per scope of practice), mental status examinations, and substance abuse screening.
- Analyze information to identify action plan, which includes crisis stabilization plan, safety, and crisis prevention plans, and plan for follow-up. Consult with team and supervisors.
- Coordinate with community resources for collateral input and follow-up care, including referrals for mental health treatment and substance abuse assessment and treatment.
- Provide short-term crisis intervention and stabilization services to adults, children, adolescents, and their families in the home or community (wherever the individual is experiencing a crisis).
Schedule/Shift:
- Fulltime; 5 days a week8 hour shifts or 4 days a week 10 hour shifts

Position Title: Community Director

This is a full-time, twelve-month live-in position that includes a furnished on-campus apartment including utilities with responsibility of serving on-call and supporting evening and weekend activities.

Position Purpose:
Reporting to one of three Associate Directors, the Community Director (CD) is responsible for the comprehensive management of 1-2 residence halls or smaller cluster of houses, approximately 350 residents and supervising up to 12 student staff members. Essential Responsibilities and Duties: This position works directly with our Fraternity and Sorority Life Community, overseeing 10 fraternity/sorority housing units and serving as an advisor for at least one Greek council and other community building initiatives.
Community Development:

Develop, implement, manage, and assess student engagement and community development initiatives as well as Collaborate with other departments across the college through the Student & Campus Life.

Building Management:

Fraternity and Sorority Life Specifics:
Coordinate with Associate Director daily operations of Fraternity and Sorority Life.
Advise and develop one or more assigned FSL student governing councils, including the Interfraternity Council (IFC), Multicultural Greek Council (MGC), National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) or Panhellenic Council (CPC), and Order of Omega.
Maintains statistics, rosters, and Fraternity/Sorority records.
Assist the Assistant Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life office-related webpages, social media accounts.
Participates in departmental teams for leadership development and student group advisement, including leadership development, skills training, hazing prevention, and wellness initiatives.
Qualifications:

The Department of Psychology at Union College, Schenectady, New York, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor specializing in Neuroscience. We encourage applications from individuals with identities historically underrepresented in the sciences. Ability to teach, advise, and mentor a diverse population of undergraduates is essential. Area of research specialization is less important than research that is programmatic and theoretically directed toward understanding the human brain. Areas of research that would complement our existing department include any using neuroscientific and/or computational neuroscientific approaches to study: sensation and perception; cognition broadly; memory; complex cognition; diversity; culture; social/emotional cognition; judgment and decision making; and/or neuroeconomics.
Ideally, our new colleague will offer courses at a variety of levels including including a combination of at least some of the following: introductory psychology, statistics, introductory neuroscience, lab courses in cognitive neuroscience and/or sensation and perception, as well as an upper-level neuroscience seminar within the applicant’s domain. Position description:
The Department of Theatre and Dance at Union College in Schenectady, NY, invites applications to fill a Lecturer position (three-year, renewable contract). We are looking for a teaching artist and practitioner in the field with overlapping specialties in two or more areas of video/projection and sound design/technology, scenic design, and/or lighting design/technology, who can serve as designer in those roles for departmental theatrical, dance, and movement productions. The ideal candidate would partner with other Union College departments and programs such as computer science, engineering, film studies, the maker lab, or other interdisciplinary programs.
The ability to serve as sound, projection/video, scenic, or lighting designer on faculty productions would be required. There would be an option to serve as production manager or stage manager in rotation with other faculty or adjuncts if qualified. A successful candidate with sufficient previous directing experience may also have the opportunity to work as a creator/collaborator to devise or direct productions as part of the department's season.
The successful candidate should hold an MFA in an area of performing arts design or an equivalent terminal degree (ABD considered); other degrees may be considered if the candidate also demonstrates exceptional professional experience. The candidate should demonstrate teaching experience in and/or commitment to a liberal arts context and provide evidence of teaching effectiveness and professional accomplishment. We seek an artist/educator looking to help create a diverse, collaborative, and inclusive community, and spark student investment in, and enthusiasm for the study of interdisciplinary practices of performing arts design and technology.
Responsibilities include teaching six courses per academic year (usually two courses in each of three 10 week academic terms) with an expectation that the faculty member will design for one or more department productions each year, with corresponding course releases. A candidate with interest and experience may also be assigned a release for directing or devising a production. Primary courses will include design, technology, or creative collaboration classes for majors and non-majors. The successful candidate should demonstrate a desire to incorporate a variety of teaching methodologies, particularly those that prioritize anti-racist, decolonized, or non-eurocentric practices. In addition, all Lecturers have co-curricular duties which support programmatic activities for the department. The duties for this position include: being active in season selection and student thesis approvals, student mentorship and advising, internship guidance as well as support and management of equipment and materials as well as production mentorship and support in the candidate’s area/s of specialty.

Job Summary | The Sr. Communications Specialist reports to the Manager of Advancement Communications, and is responsible for creating, implementing, and assessing targeted communications, solicitations, and direct marketing strategies for key IA internal and external audiences, including special constituencies such as annual donors, parents, young and graduate alumni, reunion classes, corporate partners, students, and other identified audiences. The Senior Communications Specialist supports all web-related projects for Institute Advancement philanthropic efforts for annual donors, which may include stewardship and donor relations-related writing and key projects. |

Clinician,Foster Care
MSW/MHC's with Limited Permit are eligible for $2500 signing bonus!
Licensed Social Workers or Mental Health professionals are eligible for $7500 signing bonus!

As a Foster Clinician, you will provide clinical services to children in foster care and support foster families, and families within the foster care system. The Therapeutic Foster Family Program provides foster and pre-adoptive foster homes for abused and neglected children from birth through age 21. Each foster parent receives intensive training and ongoing professional support to promote a positive, successful experience. You will report to the Clinical Supervisor and will work a combination of on-site and remote with travel to client's homes required. This is a Monday - Friday position with some evening hours required to support client needs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide assessment, treatment planning and general counseling for children in foster care.
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy to children and families, when needed
- Conduct specialized risk assessments
- Consult with other staff involved in the care of the child and families
- Attend all case related meetings (Counsel on Special Education, Termination of Parental Rights, staff meetings, service provider meetings, emergency meetings, court), for cases they are serving
- Participate in formal and informal supervision.
- Meet regularly in the community regarding cases they are seeing for general counseling.
- Have regular communication/meeting with birth families around progress/problems of children in care and how to support them in and work towards permanency.
- Provide regular case documentation for all children and families on workload including assessments, progress notes, Family Service Plan, etc.
Requirements and Education:
- Requires a Master’s degree in counseling with related experience.
- Limited permit is required; professional licensure (LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, LCAT) preferred.

Clinician, Youth ACT
Licensed Social Workers or Mental Health Professionals are eligible for a $7500 signing bonus!

As a Clinician in the Youth ACT program, you will help children avoid hospitalizations and out-of-home placements by providing intensive, community-based services to these youth and families. The youth served by Youth ACT have not found success in traditional mental health and community treatment. Our Clinicians are part of a tight-knit multi-disciplinary team that meets daily to provide medication treatment, therapy, skill building, and psychoeducational support to youth and families to meet all of their needs. You will report to the Director of Youth ACT and you will work Monday - Friday on-site with required travel to client's home. Some early evening hours may be required to support client needs.
Responsibilities:
- A shared caseload and ample supervision and support to provide intensive services to the 36 youth and families that the team serves overall, meeting the client where they are in the community, rather than in a clinical office setting.
- Specialized training in the Youth ACT model as well as the principles of person-centered planning, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, social determinants of health, cultural competence, implicit bias, and many other best practices.
- A lead role in providing services to clients/families such as:
- Risk Assessment
- Substance Abuse Screen/Assessment
- Suicide Assessment
- Mental Health needs assessment
- Social Needs Screening - Health Leads
- Comprehensive Psychosocial Assessment to include diagnosis and needs to develop a treatment plan (IAP)
- Child and Adolescent Strengths and Needs Assessment
- Close collaboration with collateral providers involved in the lives of the youth and family
- Opportunities to provide holistic care to the youth and family system via individual, group, and family counseling modalities.
- Community-based work, so flexibility in scheduling and opportunity to be out in the community rather than tied to office setting.
Requirements and Education:
- Master's degree is needed in this position.
- NYS professional licensure required: LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LCAT or LMFT - may consider limited permits.
- One year post-graduate experience preferred.
- NYS driver's license as you will be community-based and travel is required.

Pre School Teacher Aide - Substitute
Available shifts - Monday - Friday between 7:30 am - 5:00 pm - no weekends
As a per diem Preschool Teacher Aide - Substitute, you will work with teachers in the management of a preschool classroom by providing quality care to ages 3-5 following Agency philosophy, program performance standards and curriculum guidelines. You will report to the Preschool Supervising Teacher and you will work onsite.
Responsibilities:
- Use daily routines and observations to meet the strengths and needs of children
- Work as a team member to facilitate the programs curriculum, procedures and philosophy.
- Assist in the implementation of weekly program plans.
- Help establish a safe environment and a positive emotional tone that is supportive of the individual childs feelings by interacting with them in a supportive way.
- Maintain a welcoming atmosphere to encourage and facilitate ongoing parent participation and involvement.
- Participate in staff training according to program staff training plan and policies.
- Report any suspected injuries immediately to classroom staff.
- Learn and apply the program curricula to each child.
- Maintain punctuality in all interactions with children, parents, coworkers and volunteers.
- Interact positively with and provide choices to children during meal and nap times.
- Care for program equipment and supplies safely and cost-effectively.
- Assist in classroom cleanup and follow universal precautions daily.
- Assist children in transitioning during day when needed.
