Job Summary

The Student Services Coordinator serves in the Office of Undergraduate Student Services, located in the Department of Mechanical, Aerospace and Nuclear Engineering. The Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of activities relating to the recruitment of new undergraduate students to the department, the retention and satisfaction of current students, and support of accreditation assessment activities. In addition, the Coordinator will be the first student-facing individual addressing general inquiries and questions for MANE students and faculty and is responsible for creating a welcoming environment for the School of Engineering and MANE. The Coordinator reports to the Senior Student Services Administrator. The Coordinator is expected to work independently and as part of a team of student-focused service providers.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of two years of relevant work experience
• A combination of education, training, and experience may be considered

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Related Field preferred

Representative Job Duties

• Serve as first point of contact for MANE undergraduate students, responding to basic advising and logistics questions. Appropriately refer to appropriate campus resources such as CCPD, Student Success, Counseling Center, etc. 
• Monitor registration and enrollment management for MANE courses. Assist students with scheduling difficulties that may arise during registration periods, coordinating with the registrar’s office as needed.
• Provide logistic support for the Sr. Student Services Administrator to facilitate the provision of academic advising services to current students and faculty including managing communication to students (e.g., organizing webinars for prospective students, organize MANE involvement in PREFACE and other Institute outreach programs), maintaining contact lists for MANE undergraduate students
• Plan, arrange and coordinate all admission events such as Medalist Day, Fall Open House, and Spring Accepted Student Celebrations. Coordinate special Department events: coordinate with entities across the campus as needed, anticipate needs, organize the necessary components for successful events, ensure readiness in advance of the activity and participate in execution of events
• Help build community within the MANE department through organization and facilitation of regularly scheduled social events. Coordinate with undergraduate and graduate student services on department event logistics, advertising, and planning
• Provide faculty with limited logistical support such as scheduling classrooms for tests and review sessions, facilitating testing accommodations for students when needed, and monitoring course syllabi compliance. Coordinate the course and final exam schedules of all MANE Department courses with UGSS Director and Institute personnel. Enter courses and faculty assignments into Institute wide enterprise systems in accordance with established standards and timetables. 
•  Work with ABET Curriculum Coordinators, Department faculty and ABET support staff throughout the academic year to ensure ABET requirements and polices are being followed; collect all necessary course documentation for review by external ABET evaluators. 
• MANE Representative to coordinate Catalog and Curriculum revisions. Consult with MANE leadership including the Director of MANE Undergraduate Student Services, Associate Department Heads, etc. to incorporate all catalog revisions and curriculum template updates. 
• Welcome on-site visitors to the JEC; answer general inquiries and direct visitors to appropriate locations and services as needed. Ordering supplies and other duties related to academic advising and office operations. 
• Train, schedule, and provide direction to work study students to assist with department tasks. 
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The Senior Web Producer independently plans, produces, and manages web sites, and content management system (CMS). This role places, creates and/or edits Institute web site content; prepares and produces digital imagery and multimedia elements for web publication. The Senior Web Producer provides authoritative consulting to web content owners.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in communications, web design, information technology, digital media, or a related field
• Two (2 ) or more years professional experience in website production, content management, or a related digital communications role, including;
  • Hands-on experience using a Content Management System (CMS) such as Drupal, WordPress, or similar
  • Proficiency in HTML and CSS to format, troubleshoot, and adjust web content
  • Familiarity with basic image editing tools (Photoshop, Canva, or similar) for preparing web-ready graphics
  • Understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG) and commitment to creating accessible content

Relevant combinations of education, training and experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in higher education, large organizations, or complex, multi-stakeholder environments
• Experience training or consulting with content owners on effective CMS use
• Experience using analytics tools (Google Analytics, Tag Manager) to measure and improve site performance
• Knowledge of SEO best practices and implementation
• Experience coordinating with developers and designers

• Design and implement layout and presentation of web pages derived from both predefined CMS templates or themes, and Rensselaer standards.
• Provide authoritative consulting to website owners and less senior web producers to effectively use and leverage their website or system. 
• Collaborate with stakeholders and web developers to identify common needs (functionalities and workflows) that can be deployed campus-wide.
• Align stakeholder needs with existing technologies offered by DotCIO.
• Oversee external providers including site architects, designers, and content producers (copy, photo, video) to meet stakeholder objectives.

Job Summary

The Maintenance Mechanic/Plumber performs a wide range of repair and maintenance duties primarily related to plumbing equipment and systems. Performs maintenance and repair work on but not limited to utility infrastructure, building systems, steam heating systems, laboratories, exhaust fans, pumps, and air compressors. Participates in on-call rotation in accordance with standard operating procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent
• Three (3) years of experience in plumbing and piping
• Valid US Driver’s license
• Must have the ability to be medically qualified for respirator use

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Basic knowledge of plumbing trade, equipment, and tools
• Ability to read, write, and perform arithmetic functions
• Ability to read and troubleshoot from blueprints, drawings, and specifications
• Ability to use all hand tools and operate all power tools and equipment (i.e., pipe threader/cutters, band saw, power snakes, generators, compressors)
• Ability to operate a computer using standard office software
• Ability to work on ladders, scaffolding, and lifts

Job Duties

• Plan and perform repair, maintenance and installation work (including insulation) supporting campus buildings, utilities and infrastructure including, but not limited to, plumbing heating, cooling, fire protection, storm sewer, water, and laboratory gas. Essential
  Repair and install steam-and condensate lines; support the operation of central steam plants. 
• Test and troubleshoot systems and equipment including assessment of problem and identification of repair options. Complete repair work; promptly call for assistance when necessary; follow-up to verify resolution of problems. 
• The Senior Maintenance Mechanic/Plumber performs a wide range of repair and maintenance duties primarily related to plumbing equipment and systems. Plans, coordinates, and directs crew when assignments are in the specialty area of plumbing and/or pipefitting. Performs maintenance and repair work on but not limited to utility infrastructure, building systems, steam heating systems, laboratories, exhaust fans, pumps, and air compressors. Participates in on-call rotation in accordance with standard operating procedures. 
• Assist Supervisor in maintaining inventory of parts and supplies by identifying non-stock parts and materials needed, including ID, quantity, and potential vendors. Order parts as assigned. 
• Utilize the CMMS data base to review and update equipment repair history and WO’s. Essential
  Maintain, repair and install equipment such as satellite boilers, furnaces, ventilation fans, air compressors, and pumps.
