Nurse - RN - Part-Time - Evenings and Weekends - Residential Treatment - Albany, NY

Additional pay differential for evenings, overnights, and weekends

As a Registered Nurse, you will provide nursing care and services to a youth and adolescent population with emotional, behavioral and physical needs using the nursing process (assessing, diagnosing,planning, implementing, and evaluating). You will report to the Nursing Manager and you will work onsite.

Responsibilities:

• Complete the nursing assessment, evaluation and treatment plan of care for the physical and behavioral/emotional health of the residents
• Case management of outside provider visits (medical and dental) including annual assessments
• Review lab and test results, reporting critical values to providers
• Medication management including ordering medications and obtaining prior authorizations
• Dispense medications; report/discuss observed side effects or other concerns with consulting psychiatrist
• Provide client and family education regarding medications and treatments\
• Collaborate with our staff regarding concerns and behaviors
• Communicate with medical director/providers regarding changes in client’s health/behavior
• Participate in Interdisciplinary Medication Review meetings
• Nursing and medical documentation using EHR
• Provide training to residential counselor staff regarding reporting/recording of observedbehaviors and possible side effects relating to medications
• Update discharge planning needs
• Participate when assigned in agency committees
• Other duties as assigned within scope of practice and based on agency needs

Requirements and Education:

• RN Licensed in New York State
• CPR Certification required.
• Registered Nurse 1-2 years’ experience preferred
• Experience working with youth and adolescent population desired
• Must pass physical.
• Must be able to complete TCI training.

Licensed Practical Nurse - Full TimeLPN - Albany, NY

As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will coordinate appropriate medical care, dental care, and mental health services nursing care/services to a youth and adolescent population with emotional, behavioral and physical needs. You will ensure that medical treatment services meet the requirements of the regulating agency. You will report to a Registered Nurse and you will work onsite.

• Complete the nursing observations report findings to the registered nurse
• Review lab and test results, reporting critical values to RN and providers
• Medication management including ordering medications and obtaining prior authorizations
• Dispense medications
• Communicate with medical director/providers regarding observation in client’s health/behavior
• Provide client and family education regarding medications and treatments
• Collaborate with our staff regarding concerns and behaviors
• Participate in Interdisciplinary Medication Review meetings
• Coordinate, monitor, and document the health care of youth with internal and external providers
• Schedule and assist with psychiatric med reviews for children in the program
• Coordinate referrals made to specialty clinics and follow up on recommended tests, treatments, or therapies
• Complete nursing documentation using EHR including logs, patient contacts, uploading and storing medical documentation, and tracking the attendance and follow ups of medical appointments

As a Nursing Supervisor, you will oversee the nursing staff who provide care and services to a youth and adolescent population with emotional, behavioral and mental health needs for the Residential Treatment Facility, Crisis, Miriam House, Healy House, and Residential Treatment Center programs. You will report to the Executive Director of Nursing and will work onsite.

Responsibilities:

• Hire and onboard nurses located on the Parsons campus.
• Oversee medication management including ordering, reconciliations, destruction and deliveries.
• Ensure that intake assessments and medication reviews are scheduled and covered.
• Oversee connection documentation- audit monthly.
• Audit program and nursing adherence to regulations and documentation including a regular schedule of audits for immunizations, medical administration, assessments etc.
• Work with Medical assistants to ensure provider documentation is signed and followed up on in timely manner.
• Oversee REMS documentation.
• Billing – go through invoices and approve/disapprove insurance claims.
• Schedule nursing shifts and on call schedules for physicians and providers.
• Provide supervision to registered nurses for Office of mental health units.
• Complete the nursing assessment, evaluation and treatment plans.
• Collaborate with in-house staff regarding concerns and behaviors.
• Communicate with medical director and providers regarding changes in client’s health and behavior
• Nursing and medical documentation using EMAR.
• On-call every other week.
• Responsible to following policies, procedures and regulations for programs on campus.

Requirements and Education:

• RN Licensed in New York State/ BSN is preferred.
• 2-4 years of nursing experience
• 1-2 yrs. experience in a supervisory position.
