Job Summary | The Department of Earth & Environmental Sciences (E&ES) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY invites applications for one open rank, and one assistant level tenure-track/tenured position, both in Earth Systems Science. Research areas in the E&ES Department currently include experimental, analytical, and environmental geochemistry, petrology of Earth’s systems, biogeochemistry, astrobiology, geomicrobiology, and modern and ancient climate change. We are seeking applicants whose research will complement and grow these strengths, and whose research programs address fundamental problems in Earth Systems science, including, but not limited to: 1. Natural systems and environmental geochemistry, global change, critical zone science, soil science, environmental mineralogy. Any candidate with a computational approach in the above research areas is also encouraged to apply. The successful candidates will have duties that include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the Department of Earth & Environmental Sciences, engaging in the Geology and Environmental Sciences undergraduate degree programs, developing and maintaining robust programs of research and scholarship, and providing service to the department, the School of Science, and to Rensselaer. Clinical Case Manager, Intensive Family Empowerment Program
As a Clinical Case Manager in the Intensive Family Empowerment Program, you will provide six to nine months of intensive services to families whose children are either at risk of being removed from their homes or are already in placement. The goals of the program are to prevent out-of-home placement for troubled children, provide a safe environment to return children already in placement, and prevent future out-of-home placement. You will report to the Program Coordinator and will work in a combination of on-site and remote settings with travel to client's homes required.
Responsibilities:
- Provide home and community services to the identified youth and their caregiver as prescribed in the treatment plan for those enrolled in our Family Preservation Services.
- Educate parents and their child in a variety of social-emotional and parenting skills such as communication, discipline, anger management, emotional regulation, attunement, caregiver affect management, decision making, problem-solving, social skill building, budgeting, family and home organization, behavioral management, etc.
- Maintain a caseload of three children.
- Complete and maintain appropriate case records through the completion of intake, assessments, progress notes, reports, etc. following agency, county, and state policy and funding requirements.
- Participate in the comprehensive assessment and creation of the treatment plan for assigned cases to determine and address service needs and ensure the provision of regular treatment plan meetings and service plan reviews.
- Provide liaison contact with collateral resources such as referring agencies, schools, family courts, and other agency personnel serving on behalf of a child and family as it relates to their treatment.
- You will work Monday through Friday with a flexible schedule that includes evenings and a rotating on-call schedule.
Requirements and Education:
- Bachelor's degree in social work, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field;
- Experience working with at-risk youth and families;
- Home and community-based experience is a plus.

Lecturer of Biomedical Engineering Position at Union College
The Department of Electrical, Computer and Biomedical Engineering at Union College invites applications for a Lecturer of Biomedical Engineering position, beginning Fall 2024. The position is renewable with a contract period of three years. After six years of employment at Union, Lecturers are eligible for promotion to Senior Lecturer with the possibility of contract lengths up to five years. A Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering or a closely related field is required. Candidates expecting to complete their doctoral thesis before September 2024 are also welcome to apply. We seek an individual who demonstrates a strong commitment to student-centered undergraduate education, including those with a professional interest in pedagogy. Service duties will include coordinating the Summer Clinical Immersion Program with our local partners, advising our Biomedical Engineering Society student chapter, and coordinating the biomedical engineering seminar series. Compensation
The annual salary range for this position is $81,000 - $84,000. Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Certified Recreation Therapists are eligible for $1000 signing bonus!
As a Recreation Therapist, you will support Residential Treatment Facility clients recreation needs during intake and treatment. You will report to the Director of Therapeutic Recreation and you will work onsite, with some flexibility for remote work.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct therapeutic recreational assessments of residents to support the preparation and implementation of treatment plans (14-day and monthly Treatment Reviews).Consult with RTF team members regarding recreation activity planning, design, implementation, and evaluation
- Organize, facilitate, and support therapeutic recreational activities for individual clients and for groups
- Maintain contact with community recreational resources to support recreational needsand activities
- Maintain RTF recreational facilities and supplies; schedule use
- Ensure that therapeutic recreational services comply with JCAHO, COA, IOC,and OMH standards
- Complete all documentation requirements, including Rec Assessments; Individual/GroupProgress Note; Permission Packets.
- Maintain the family/guardians connection and involvement with the child during the RTF stay
- Involve the family in every aspect of the treatment and discharge process

Job Summary | The Sr. Major Gift Officer (MGO) will serve as the Senior Regional Director of Development for the Southwest Region of the United States and will be responsible for developing a regular cadence of strategic opportunities focused on engaging existing and prospective major donors with the end goal of qualifying, soliciting, and closing major gifts. This role will serve as the primary strategist and staff person for the Texas Triangle Executive Council. Director of Student Conduct & Conflict Resolution
Pay Status and Classification: Exempt, Regular full-time.
Supervisor: Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs, Campus Living & Learning
Position Purpose: Oversees the community standards process and educates campus stakeholders on the values and expectations for living, working, and learning in the Union College community. Responsible for the administration and development of the Union College Code of Student Conduct. Manages institutional risk when processing student conduct cases, conducts training and outreach, provides consultation on student conduct issues, and ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Carries out the mission of Union College and the Division of Student Affairs.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Student Accountability: Oversees all matters related to the functioning of the non-academic campus conduct system, the maintenance of conduct records, and the management of the contracted conduct system from Maxient. Investigates and ensures timely resolution of all reports of student conduct violations (e.g., interviews; investigations; gathering and assessing evidence; interim support measures; hearings; referrals; preparing confidential reports containing findings; record-keeping; etc.). Receives, processes, investigates, monitors, and reports on bias incident reports involving students. Engages effectively with students in developmentally and educationally focused conversations to address and resolve student conduct matters. Compiles and analyzes data from Maxient and other sources to propose and support initiatives in conduct management. Provides support as needed for Title IX case management, referrals, investigations and hearing boards.
- Conflict Resolution: Offers, where appropriate, alternative forms of dispute resolution. Oversees the provision of conflict resolution services -- including mediation, conflict coaching, restorative practices, and facilitated dialogue -- to students upon request (e.g., meeting with complaining parties and using independent judgment to offer conflict resolution and problem-solving alternatives, when appropriate and applicable).
- Programming: Collaborates with divisional and institutional partners to create and assess an educational programming plan to target key areas of student behavioral concerns, including alcohol use, drug use, sexual misconduct, interpersonal conflict, and safety education. Educates students about their rights and responsibilities through active and passive programming. Monitors student compliance with online education requirements related to Title IX, alcohol & other drugs, and student behavior.
- Staff Development: Uses a distributive model for conduct cases and trains various campus judicial officers. Monitors, trains, and updates judicial officers on all relevant topics, strategies, and techniques in student conduct. Recruits, trains and advises the Student Conduct Committee, Organizational Misconduct Committee, Judicial Hearing Board, and other boards as assigned.
- Student Health and Safety: Monitors students for signs of academic difficulties and/or with other behavioral and developmental issues, intervening and referring to services as needed. Participates in regular professional staff on-call rotation, providing crisis intervention and serving as a resource or referral agent. Participates in Crisis Assessment and Risk Evaluation (CARE) team meetings and provides culturally responsive support to students.
- Administration: Manages the day-to-day functions of the Dean of Students Office, including email response and supervision of the work-study program. Updates and maintains corresponding websites regularly, with proper archiving of code updates. Collaborates with Campus Safety to manage Clery Report requirements. Plans an annual budget in consultation with the assistant vice-president and finance office. Reconciles purchases in a timely fashion and oversees staff use of purchasing cards. Serves on college committees as assigned. Offers to pitch in to help colleagues during crunch times and overlapping deliverables.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration or related field and 5-7 years of student affairs experience or equivalent, and/or a combination of relevant education, training, certifications, and work experience. Knowledge of residential liberal arts college administration is desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a thorough understanding of current best practices in the fields of student accountability and an awareness of emerging issues in higher education, student conduct, community building, and student learning.

Assistant Athletic Trainer

Supervisor: Head Athletic Trainer/Student-Athlete Program Director
Position Purpose: Under the supervision of the Head Athletic Trainer, the Assistant Athletic Trainer supports the athletic department by providing care to student-athletes including injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation.

- Injury Prevention, Rehabilitation, and Treatment: Develop and implement injury prevention programs. Provide first aid and emergency care when necessary. Evaluate and diagnose athletic injuries. - Communication and Collaboration: Educate student athletes on care and prevention of athletic injuries. Provide guidance on proper conditioning techniques. As a Clinician in the Youth ACT program, you will help children avoid hospitalizations and out-of-home placements by providing intensive, community-based services to these youth and families. The youth served by Youth ACT have not found success in traditional mental health and community treatment. You will travel locally to work with children and families in their communities providing a core of rehabilitative services to ensure success, including non-licensed counseling and support for youth and family, skill building, peer support, caregiver support and advocacy, pre-vocational services and respite. You will report to a Community Service Provider Supervisor, and work onsite within the community, as travel is required and documentation may be completed remotely.
Responsibilities:
- Provide services within a Family-driven Care framework, including respecting family choice and voice, believing in each family’s potential to learn and grow, and utilizing strategies that empower families
- Work with family members to identify goals and objectives of treatment
- Provide services based on the needs as identified in the Treatment Plan
- Coordinate with the child and caregiver on the scheduling and provision of services
- Participate in relevant treatment meetings and attend all required trainings
- Complete all documentation
Requirements and Education:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least two years of related experience OR
- Master's degree in Social Work, counseling, psych, or a related human service and at least one year of related experience
- Valid NYS Driver's License required

Job Summary | The Event Technician, Stage Technologies will be a generalist in all production departments (audio, video, and stage technologies) and specialize in the lighting field of the stage technologies department. The Event Technician will support the installation, operation, and strike of technical performance systems during residencies, research, and events. In addition, the Event Technician, Stage Technologies will maintain working knowledge of current lighting and staging equipment and their integration with other production systems (audio, video), and utilize this expertise in upholding the high production standards of EMPAC events. |

Job Summary | The Procurement Agent is responsible for ensuring that supplier data is accurate, up to date, and in compliance with Institute policies. The Agent assists with evaluating and negotiating small dollar procurements, consistent with Rensselaer policies. Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Procurement, the Agent works closely with E-Business prioritizing master agreements, supplier enablement, and other contract opportunities. In collaboration with other areas in the Controller’s Office, facilitates encumbrance releases and develops training materials and programs focused on compliance with policies and procedures. |
