Job Summary | The Administrative Coordinator provides administrative support for Associate Vice President Public Safety & Emergency Management and oversees the day to day operations for the Department of Public Safety. Art Collections & Exhibitions Department Student Assistant

Position Purpose: Assist with cataloging and new acquisitions and creating records in collections management database system
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Cataloguing New Acquisitions: Learns new acquisitions cataloguing processes, including photographing art, condition reporting, and art handling. Learns how to input data and images for artworks using the collection management system Collector Systems. Works independently with other students to wrap artworks in archival materials for storage and transport
- Permanent Collection: Performs location inventories and condition reports for artworks installed on campus. Installs/deinstalls UCPC artworks on campus. Artwork wrapping, labeling, and transporting around campus. Inputs artwork locations into a spreadsheet or the collections management system. Carefully handles artworks during wrapping, moving, and storing processes.
Qualifications:
- Attention to detail and the ability to accurately label artwork with inventory numbers, artist, and title information, as well as input in spreadsheets and database formats.
- Proficiency with Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel.
- Exercise great care in handling fragile art objects.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Ability to stand or sit for 3 hours at a time.
- Ability to lift and carry 20 lbs.

Assistant Athletic Trainer
Pay Status and Classification: Exempt, Regular full-time. This is a 12 month position.
Supervisor: Head Athletic Trainer/Student-Athlete Program Director
Position Purpose: Under the supervision of the Head Athletic Trainer, the Assistant Athletic Trainer supports the athletic department by providing care to student-athletes including injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation.
Union College sponsors 26 intercollegiate sports, 24 in Division III, with Ice Hockey competing at Division I. Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Injury Prevention, Rehabilitation, and Treatment: Develop and implement injury prevention programs. Provide first aid and emergency care when necessary. Evaluate and diagnose athletic injuries. Design and monitor rehabilitation programs for injured student athletes. Provides therapeutic treatment such as taping, bracing, and modalities.
- Communication and Collaboration: Educate student athletes on care and prevention of athletic injuries. Provide guidance on proper conditioning techniques. Communicate effectively with coaches and student athletes about injury status and progress. Coordinates with physicians and healthcare providers as needed.
- Administration: Provides support with the daily operations of the athletic training room and assists with the supervision of work study students. Electronic medical record keeping of athletic injuries, treatments, and rehabilitation progress.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or a related field required. Master’s degree and experience with National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) regulations and compliance knowledge preferred.
- National Athletic Trainers Association certified and in good standing with the Board of Certification (BOC) for athletic trainers.
- First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, and Automated External Defibrillator certifications required.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Ability to work in inclement weather.
- Physical requirements: Ability to engage in various physical activities, which may include lifting items of different weights of 25 pounds and more, and standing for extended periods.

Assistant Men’s Ice Hockey Coach

Position Purpose: Works closely with the head coach to develop and execute training programs, provide guidance and mentorship to student-athletes, and contribute to the overall success of the men’s ice hockey program.

Associate Director for Fraternity & Sorority Life

Supervisor: Director of Residential Education
Position Purpose: Oversees and directs the operations, vision, and programs for Greek life at Union College by facilitating an environment where members of the Greek community can be challenged and supported in their personal growth, efforts, and experiences. Serves as a trusted advisor to students. Shares responsibility with other Associate Directors for residential student staff processes (such as room selection, recruitment, selection, hiring, training, and ongoing development). Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Greek Community Development & Engagement: Creates a vibrant, welcoming, and inclusive environment for Greek organizations. Manages and supervises the activities of and provides guidance to various National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) sororities, North American Interfraternity Conference (NIC) fraternities, National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) and National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations (NALFO) organizations as well as local/unaffiliated organizations. Coordinates recruitment/intake and the annual review processes for all student Greek letter organizations. Designs and implements leadership development programs for the Greek community, including programming in the areas of risk management, membership recruitment/intake and education; problem resolution, and community planning.
- Supervision: Supervises the Community Director for Greek Houses. Indirectly supervises Greek house managers and part-time party monitors. Guides and supports the community director and student staff community development efforts, including the implementation of curricular engagement guides and corresponding assessments.
- Student Health and Safety: Monitors and intervenes with students who may be struggling academically and/or with other behavioral and developmental issues. Refers accordingly to services as needed. Participates in regular professional staff on-call rotation, providing crisis intervention and serving as a resource or referral agent. Understands and enforces Code of Student Conduct and other policies regarding behavior, safety, security, health, and other matters in cooperation with the appropriate offices. Serves as a campus judicial hearing officer. Participates in CARE team meetings and provides culturally responsive support to students.
- Collaboration: Builds relationships with alumni, donors, and other stakeholders to advance the Greek Life program and support its mission. Works in collaboration with designated staff in College Relations to interface with fraternity and sorority alumni. Serves as the liaison to national organizations, chapter advisors, and other College departments.
- Administration: Holds regular office hours to address student and staff needs. Manages the budget for the Greek Life department, allocating resources to support programming, events, and operational expenses. Attends campus community events. Serves on college committees as assigned. Assists with administrative office duties. Offers to pitch in to help colleagues during crunch times and overlapping deliverables.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration or related field and 3-5 years of student affairs experience or equivalent, and/or a combination of relevant education, training, certifications, and/or work experience. Knowledge of residential liberal arts college administration is desirable Knowledge of residential liberal arts college administration is desirable.
- Knowledge of National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) sororities, North American Interfraternity Conference (NIC) fraternities, National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) and National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations (NALFO) organizations. Membership in an international/national fraternity or sorority is preferred.

Position Purpose: Leads the Accommodative Services Office at Union College, providing strategic direction and overseeing day-to-day operations to support students with disabilities. Position Purpose: Oversees the community standards process and educates campus stakeholders on the values and expectations for living, working, and learning in the Union College community. Responsible for the administration and development of the Union College Code of Student Conduct. Manages institutional risk when processing student conduct cases, conducts training and outreach, provides consultation on student conduct issues, and ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Student Accountability: Oversees all matters related to the functioning of the non-academic campus conduct system, the maintenance of conduct records, and the management of the contracted conduct system from Maxient. Investigates and ensures timely resolution of all reports of student conduct violations (e.g., interviews; investigations; gathering and assessing evidence; interim support measures; hearings; referrals; preparing confidential reports containing findings; record-keeping; etc.). Receives, processes, investigates, monitors, and reports on bias incident reports involving students. Engages effectively with students in developmentally and educationally focused conversations to address and resolve student conduct matters. Compiles and analyzes data from Maxient and other sources to propose and support initiatives in conduct management. Provides support as needed for Title IX case management, referrals, investigations and hearing boards.
- Conflict Resolution: Offers, where appropriate, alternative forms of dispute resolution. Oversees the provision of conflict resolution services -- including mediation, conflict coaching, restorative practices, and facilitated dialogue -- to students upon request (e.g., meeting with complaining parties and using independent judgment to offer conflict resolution and problem-solving alternatives, when appropriate and applicable).
- Programming: Collaborates with divisional and institutional partners to create and assess an educational programming plan to target key areas of student behavioral concerns, including alcohol use, drug use, sexual misconduct, interpersonal conflict, and safety education. Educates students about their rights and responsibilities through active and passive programming. Monitors student compliance with online education requirements related to Title IX, alcohol & other drugs, and student behavior.
- Staff Development: Uses a distributive model for conduct cases and trains various campus judicial officers. Monitors, trains, and updates judicial officers on all relevant topics, strategies, and techniques in student conduct. Recruits, trains and advises the Student Conduct Committee, Organizational Misconduct Committee, Judicial Hearing Board, and other boards as assigned.
- Student Health and Safety: Monitors students for signs of academic difficulties and/or with other behavioral and developmental issues, intervening and referring to services as needed. Participates in regular professional staff on-call rotation, providing crisis intervention and serving as a resource or referral agent. Participates in Crisis Assessment and Risk Evaluation (CARE) team meetings and provides culturally responsive support to students.
- Administration: Manages the day-to-day functions of the Dean of Students Office, including email response and supervision of the work-study program. - Proficient in Windows and Apple client hardware and operating systems.

Job Summary | The Director of Real Estate directs all activities associated with land management/leases; real estate revenue activities; building and land acquisition/sales; building and land appraisals; all Rensselaer property-related tax payments; Rensselaer tax exemption requirements; and special activities, that include leases and subleases of external facilities, fraternity/sorority land/building leases and finances; estate activities and community issues. - Work with NHS staff, Clinical staff, Parents/guardians, outside service providers and identified students to:
- Design a realistic discharge plan that is guided by each youth’s wishes, hopes and dreams
- Coordinate your client driven discharge planning process with local OCFS, OMH, and NYSED representatives that supports a client-driven plan which integrates housing, health and medical care, education and employment needs.
- Coordinate a set of vocational and transitional related activities including instruction, community experiences, employment and volunteer experiences, and the acquisition of daily living skills.
- Examine/identify post secondary vocational training options
- Respectfully honor each youth’s feelings about past and current relationships and ensure that when needed individuals will have the opportunity to work on issues of grief, loss and enduring relationships
- Complete a Permanency Pact and identify specific people who agree to offer life long supports (either related or not)
- Develop a Circle of Supportand identify specific people who agree to advocate for and support the student during the transition process
- Promote active involvement of identified students in planning and implementing the transition component of their IEP.

Supervisor: Transportation Manager
Position Purpose: Provides transportation of Union College students, staff and community members to and from College approved locations following safety protocols.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Safety Compliance: Conducts pre-trip inspections of equipment before each designated route. Reports concerns regarding vehicle safety, road hazards, and safety for the community being served i.e. road hazards, sick or intoxicated students to the immediate supervisor from Campus Safety. Complies with random drug and alcohol testing requirements.
- Trip Management and Reporting: Provides trip information to the dispatcher before each trip. Maintains scheduled times and locations for the 'Trolley Service.' Reports all incidents, whether minor or major, to the immediate supervisor from Campus Safety.
Qualifications:
- Two or more years of transportation driving experience.
- Valid NYS Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Strong communication skills and ability to exercise exceptional judgment and demonstrate outstanding professionalism in a range of situations.

VISITING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF ANTHROPOLOGY
Union College (Schenectady, New York) seeks applicants for a one-year visiting position at the assistant professor level. We seek socio-cultural candidates who can teach courses on environmental anthropology and who would also be able to offer courses in some of the following areas: indigeneity, environmental justice, economic anthropology, Science and Technology Studies, Religion and Environmentalism, anthropology of food, and global health. In terms of geographic expertise we are interested in someone who works in Sub Saharan Africa, the Caribbean, Southeast Asia or amongst indigenous people of Oceania or the Americas. But we will consider other areas not currently represented by faculty in the department. Candidates with Ph.D. in hand and teaching experience are preferred, but these qualifications are not required. The successful candidate will teach six courses over three ten-week trimesters.
The Department prides itself on strong teaching and on building relationships with students. Department members are also active scholars who support each other’s scholarship and who value the integration of research and teaching. Anthropology at Union contributes to many interdisciplinary programs and to the Complex Questions general education curriculum that focuses on global challenges and on social justice. Compensation
The annual salary range for this position is $67,000 - $69,000.
