We seek socio-cultural candidates whose research addresses and who can teach courses on: environmental anthropology, economic anthropology, science and technology studies, public health, and/or indigeneity. We are especially interested in candidates who can also offer courses on gender and/or religion (particularly Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism) and who could potentially develop an ethnographic field school. In terms of geographic expertise, preference will be given to candidates who work in Sub-Saharan Africa, the Caribbean, the Middle East, South, East, or Southeast Asia or amongst indigenous people of Oceania or the Americas, but we will also consider other areas not currently represented by faculty in the department. Candidates with Ph.D. in anthropology in hand and teaching experience are preferred, but ABD candidates, as well as candidates in closely related fields are welcome to apply. The successful candidate will teach six courses over three ten-week trimesters.
About the Anthropology Department:
The Department prides itself on strong teaching and on building relationships with students. Department members are all active scholars who support each other’s scholarship and who value the integration of research and teaching. The department has a long tradition of field schools (currently running in Fiji and India) where students do hands-on research. Anthropology at Union contributes to many interdisciplinary programs and to the Complex Questions general education curriculum that focuses on global challenges and on social justice. Job Summary | The Program Manager, Supplementary Education has primary responsibility for providing learning support services for students. The Manager will oversee, develop, train, monitor, and supervise comprehensive academic support programs including peer tutoring programs and teaching assistant (during the summer). In collaboration with campus constituents, the Program Manager will develop and support Institute-wide learning initiatives and support programs and activities. The Program Manager will participate in Student Success Center functions and be responsible for creating reports and materials for external audiences, maintenance of the website, and support office communications, marketing, and social media to promote tutoring and learning resources. |

As a Preschool Special Education Teacher, you will develop and implement of classroom instructional plans for preschool students in the Neil Hellman Preschool. You will also support students' success in academic and behavioral goals. You will report to the Preschool Supervising Teacher and you will work onsite.
Responsibilities:
- Follow all Agency policies and procedures, along with state and federal regulations about our school and students.
- Develop and implement a classroom instructional plan based on a student's IEP and Creative Curriculum Objectives for Development and Learning, creating lessons that are differentiated as to meet the needs of all students.
- Develop and implement Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs) for students in their classroom. Ensure that accommodations and modifications are provided. Provide specially designed instruction and monitor student progress toward academic and behavioral goals. Complete progress reports and IEP updates, and participate in CPSE meetings as scheduled.
- Coordinate the creation of special strategies for reinforcing material or skills based on an understanding of individual students, their needs, interests, and abilities; create and modify materials to match student abilities.
- Develop and coordinate the implementation of individual and classroom behavior plans for managing student behavior to maintain discipline in the classroom; oversee the collecting of behavior data; assist classroom staff with intervention techniques; assist classroom staff with de-escalation techniques; reteach students appropriate behavior strategies.
- Manage, coordinate and model the implementation of Pyramid Model principles and practices in the classroom to build social and emotional competence and to support children through nurturing and responsive relationships and a high-quality environment.
- Coordinate the safety and well- being of students through the use of established classroom and schoolwide processes and procedures; supervise classroom staff in implementing these with their work with students throughout the building.
- Follow school and agency procedures and policies for reporting incidents. This includes behavior incident reports (BIR) and incidents such as child/sexual abuse, substance abuse, harassment, bullying, and violence.
- Establish relationships with parents and family members to create a partnership around student treatment, student behavior, and academic progress.
- Schedule, supervise, and monitor teacher assistants as they assist students in various non-instructional environments (e.g. bus loading/unloading, playground, classroom, washroom, field trips, transportation)
- Lead and attend classroom team meetings, and behavior/treatment meetings and professional training and development sessions or needed (e.g. Pyramid, CPR, emergency procedures and other agency requirements.)
- Provide leadership to assigned teacher aides and assistants in the various clerical and non-instructional duties or needed for your classroom.
- Work with other teachers, clinicians, administrators, medical staff and other school staff to provide integrated support, assistance, and treatment to students.

Our new colleague will teach two courses each year (winter and spring trimesters; early January through mid-June 2026), which are components of our year-longclinical sequence: Clinical Psychology 2: Interventions (with a lab), and Clinical Psychology 3: Internship. Clinical Psychology 2:Interventions covers theories of psychotherapy and communication, and with an experiential labsection. In Clinical Psychology 3: Internship, advanced students spend ten hours perweek at supervised internship sites in the community, and meet one class sectionper week for group supervision.
Many of our students are interested in pursuing careers in the helping professions, andcontinue on to masters, doctoral, or pre-med programs. There would also beopportunities to mentor clinically-bound students, to supervise senior thesis projects,and conduct one’s own independent research, if desired. Position description:
The Department of Psychology at Union College, Schenectady, New York, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor specializing in Neuroscience. Ph.D. in Neuroscience or related field is required; degree in hand by appointment date is preferable. Area of research specialization is less important than research that is programmatic and theoretically directed toward understanding the human brain. Areas of research that would complement our existing department include any using neuroscientific and/or computational neuroscientific approaches to study: sensation and perception; cognition broadly; memory; complex cognition; diversity; culture; social/emotional cognition; judgment and decision making; and/or neuroeconomics. Ability to teach, advise, and mentor a diverse population of undergraduates is essential. Please note: Our department is also hiring for the position of Assistant Professor in COGNITIVE PSYCHOLOGY. Our new colleague will offer 2 courses per trimester at a variety of levels, including a combination of some of the following: introductory psychology, statistics, introductory neuroscience, lab courses in cognitive neuroscience and/or sensation and perception, as well as an upper-level neuroscience seminar within the applicant’s domain, and/or other courses that could contribute to Union’s College’s interdisciplinary Neuroscience major.
We also welcome a colleague with the ability to provide a psychological or neuroscientific perspective on topics that contribute to the College's general education curriculum, including courses that contribute to students' understanding of and appreciation for Global Challenges and Justice, Equity, Identity, and Difference.
We expect that our new colleague will establish and maintain a vibrant Neuroscience research program that involves our undergraduate students. Shared departmental resources include brand-new EEG and eye-tracking equipment that allow for simultaneous data acquisition. The Department of Psychology at Union College, Schenectady, New York, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor specializing in Cognitive Psychology, broadly defined. Area of specialization is less important than research and teaching excellence. Position description:
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering welcomes applicants with a commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and mentoring undergraduates in the field of Environmental Engineering. The CEE Department currently has expertise in the areas of water quality, soil and sediment remediation, risk assessment, hydrology, sustainable treatment, water and wastewater management, and contaminant fate and transport processes. We are looking to expand and diversify our areas of focus into areas associated with the broad topic of air (e.g., air quality, climate change, atmospheric interactions, air pollution management, environmental change and adaptation, aerosol-climate interactions, wildfire-atmosphere interactions, wind power meteorology, and/or climate engineering). Experience working directly with communities is a plus. The new hire will teach courses in the curriculum as appropriate, including core classes such as Thermofluids, Introduction to Environmental Engineering and/or Contaminant Fate and Transport, as well as the development and teaching of upper level environmental engineering electives in their area of expertise. In addition, there is an expectation that all new hires in the Department will teach at least one course annually to non-engineers ideally as part of the College’s new Complex Questions/Global Challenges and Social Justice common curriculum. The new hire will also be heavily involved in the ABET accreditation process which includes opportunities for curriculum development and assessment.
The successful candidate will also have a strong interest in interdisciplinary collaboration. The CEE department has a close relationship with the Environmental Science, Policy, and Engineering Program.
