Job Summary | The Department of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) at RENSSELAER POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE in Troy, NY, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or tenured Associate Professor position in Materials Science and Engineering with expertise and potential in the broad area of bulk/thin film metallic materials. Example research foci and applications include nanoelectronics device wiring, packaging and integration, energy generation (e.g., nuclear, thermoelectric, wind, solar) and storage (e.g., batteries, supercapacitors), light-weight high-strength structures, alloy design, microstructure development, additive manufacturing, and environmental degradation. We will also consider exceptional candidates from other related areas. Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering or a related field. Job Summary | The Economic and Industry Analyst will analyze and make recommendations for progress of the sustainable fashion industry, from farms and new materials to processing to brands and design, in New York State and in general (in the U.S. and worldwide). The Analyst will review and keep abreast of pertinent studies and research, and will seek information from industry data sources, carry out interviews and surveys, and analyze and interpret the information. The work is based at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute as part of the Fashion Innovation Center (FIC). The Analyst will interact with FIC members and participants to learn about the industry, discuss sustainable fashion industry problems and potential solutions, consider ways to advance the industry in New York State, and document relevant information and findings in report, paper, and/or book form. The Analyst will also provide suggestions where relevant to innovative project participants in the FIC’s accelerator. The Analyst will work closely with the Center Director and other FIC members. |

Job Summary | The Procurement Agent is responsible for ensuring that supplier data is accurate, up to date, and in compliance with Institute policies. The Agent assists with evaluating and negotiating small dollar procurements, consistent with Rensselaer policies. Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Procurement, the Agent works closely with E-Business prioritizing master agreements, supplier enablement, and other contract opportunities. - While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions and is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and fumes.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet while in the office, or light to moderately loud when out in the field driving.
- Drivers are likely to drive on motorways for long periods of time.
- Drivers are expected to work in all weather conditions including snow and icy conditions therefore they need to be alert and careful at all times.
