Job Summary | The Software Engineer will serve as the focal point of all software related issues of the PERFORM Project Team. The Software Engineer will organize and maintain software infrastructure of the Project Team, and contribute to the proposal, planning and execution of team-based industrial applied research projects. Project execution will involve development of original software and utilization of commercial software packages. The Software Engineer will require interaction with multiple Project Team stakeholders, including industrial clients, faculty, staff, and students. |

Licensed Electrician - Facilities Services
Pay Status and Classification: Non-exempt, Regular full-time. This is a 12-month position.
Supervisor: Supervisor of Electrical
Position Purpose: Installs, maintains, and repairs electrical systems in residential, and commercial College owned properties according to job specifications and local codes. Follows and enforce safety standards and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Operations: Meets the electrical needs of the campus community by performing work requests, emergencies, and special set-ups for faculty, staff and students. Works with various departments in order to achieve common goals and desires. Duties include: Ballast/driver, switch/receptacle, and breaker/feeder replacements.
- Maintenance: Performs and maintains functionality of equipment and systems, including: emergency lighting, switchgear, variable frequency drives, motor control centers, transformers, and battery back-up systems. Conducts monthly preventive maintenance in order to minimize equipment downtime.
- Projects: Plans and lays out work accordingly with knowledge and understanding of reading blueprints. Contributes to team projects consisting of lighting retrofits, additional circuitry, Electrical vehicle (EV) charger installations, and feeder upgrades.
- Trouble-Shooting: Inspects electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, ensuring compliance with codes. Identifies and diagnoses electrical issues. Collaborates with team members on finding the best approach while leading to set an example. Reads and interprets one-line diagrams in order to diagnose failures, and develops new skills through hands-on training.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma, two-year technical trade school, or apprenticeship program, and/or a combination of relevant education, training, certifications, and/or work experience.
- Five years as a Journeyman Electrician, experience in residential, commercial, and industrial applications.
- Valid Commercial Electrician’s License, preferably in Schenectady, Albany, or Troy.
- Available for round-the-clock emergency response both on and off campus.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe software.
- Knowledge of medium voltage three phase systems (13.2KV), WYE/DELTA and low voltage systems (24, 120, 208, 277, and 480v).
- Must have a valid New York State Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
- Must be safety conscious.
- Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams, diagnose motor and motor control failures, and capacity to grow and develop skills through hands-on training.
- Physical requirements: Ability to perform physical tasks for extended periods, including standing, walking, and bending, as well as the capability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Strong understanding and application of the National Electrical Code, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards on electrical and work safety procedures.

Compensation
The rate for this position is $28.00 - $30.00 per hour. Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The stated hiring rate/range represents the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Building Maintainer

Supervisor: Supervisor of Building Maintenance
Position Purpose: Ensures the optimal functioning, safety and appearance of campus facilities through the maintenance and repairs of various physical structures throughout the College.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Facility Maintenance and Repair: Conducts routine maintenance and repairs on plumbing, electrical, and structural fixtures. Addresses issues related to windows, including repairs and replacement of parts. Performs minor replacements of carpet and vinyl composition tiles as needed.
- Utilities Management: Reads electric and gas meters accurately and regularly. Troubleshoots and addresses any issues related to electric and gas meters promptly. Ensures the proper functioning of utilities to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
- Collaboration and Logistics: Participates in various set-up tasks, including furniture moving assignments. Adapts to a flexible schedule, including weekends, for special assignments. Collaborates with team members to execute logistics plans effectively and efficiently.
Qualifications:
- Two years of general maintenance experience in a large educational, healthcare, or residential complex or a combination of relevant education, training, certifications, and/or work experience. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- A valid New York State Driver's License.
- Ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
- Must be safety conscious.
