This position is focused in the area of mechatronics with a specialty in robotics. A Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related field) is required; applicants close to finishing their Ph.D. will also be considered. The successful candidate will teach and develop content for a range of undergraduate courses and laboratories in the areas of mechatronics (including basics of electrical circuits), robotics, controls, automation, or mechanical design. Preference will be given to applicants who can lead curricular developments in several of these areas. Demonstrated excellence in teaching and conducting high quality, peer reviewed and published research are requirements for success in the position. Union College has a strong record in undergraduate research, and candidates will be expected to pursue an active program of scholarly research involving undergraduate students. About the Department of Mechanical Engineering
Union College’s engineering programs are nationally ranked. Northern Rivers has opportunities for Teacher Aides at our Neil Hellman School. The school serves residential and day students with serious emotional, behavioral and learning challenges, and our team members provide the therapeutic, educational and vocational services they need to empower our students to reach their maximum potential to ensure student success.
For some of these children, coming to school allows them to be in a place where they are cared for and allowed to just be kids, and to reach their educational goals without the stress of food insecurity or housing availability.
As a Teacher Aide, you see the progress a child in your classroom is making as each week advances, giving you a sense of accomplishment knowing that you make a difference in each child’s life.
Teacher Aides assist the classroom teacher in all aspects of behavior management and supporting students' success in school. You will work onsite at our Albany campus, and follow the school calendar, which includes a six-week summer school beginning in July.
This position is the perfect opportunity for someone interested in working with children in a teaching setting, but without the educational criteria of a teacher.
Responsibilities:
Monitor student behavior and help maintain discipline in the classroom; record behavior data as requested; assist with crisis prevention; assist with de-escalation techniques with students.
Help implement behavior plans (BIP); record behavior data; and the completion of incident reports when requested.
Monitor, supervise and assist students during non-instructional periods within a variety of school environments (e.g. lunch, recess/breaks, bus loading/unloading, playground, classroom, washroom, field trips, transportation, assemblies) to maintain a safe and positive learning environment.
Help implement classroom PBIS universal components and Tier 2 and Tier 3 strategies for selected students.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Systems and Database Management: Acts as the primary point of contact for user inquiries related to database usage and third-party products. We seek socio-cultural candidates whose research addresses and who can teach courses on: environmental anthropology, economic anthropology, science and technology studies, public health, and/or indigeneity. We are especially interested in candidates who can also offer courses on gender and/or religion (particularly Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism) and who could potentially develop an ethnographic field school. Position description:
The Department of Psychology at Union College, Schenectady, New York, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor specializing in Neuroscience. Ph.D. in Neuroscience or related field is required; degree in hand by appointment date is preferable. Area of research specialization is less important than research that is programmatic and theoretically directed toward understanding the human brain. Areas of research that would complement our existing department include any using neuroscientific and/or computational neuroscientific approaches to study: sensation and perception; cognition broadly; memory; complex cognition; diversity; culture; social/emotional cognition; judgment and decision making; and/or neuroeconomics. Ability to teach, advise, and mentor a diverse population of undergraduates is essential. Please note: Our department is also hiring for the position of Assistant Professor in COGNITIVE PSYCHOLOGY. Position Purpose:Develops revenue streams by planning, organizing, and executing successful events, meetings, and conferences at Union College, with the greatest attention to outstanding customer service. Partners with the Director of Special Events and Conferences to market and sell the use of college facilities to generate budgeted revenue goals.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Event Planning: Manages work assignments for support service as it pertains to meetings and/or events (i.e. location, room set ups, food, transportation, audio visual arrangements), develops and cultivates working relationships with vendors to ensure customer satisfaction, manages room assignments through scheduling software, develops and manages summer program revenue, and supervises event activity (may require evening and weekend availability).
Customer Service and Communication:Provides excellent customer service to clients, and event attendees, ensuring that they have a positive experience and their needs are met. Communicates event details to all stakeholders, including staff, vendors, and attendees, verifying that all parties have the necessary information.
Relationship Building and Marketing: Maintains existing clients to increase repeat business opportunities. Cultivates new clients by marketing conference services to external organizations. Manages department web pages and social media presence. Develops responses to proposals and estimates and follows up appropriately on all proposals.
Team Development, Innovation, & Supervision: Contributes ideas, input, and support to Union Special Events and Conference and other activities that impact the success of the department. Seeks out, applies, and shares knowledge of special events logistics, trends, and innovations.
Administrative:Responsible for accounts payable for event vendors and accounts receivable for client invoices. Administers contract cycle (create, negotiate, approve, execute), develops program plans, monthly and quarterly reports and forecasts. Generates reports on profitability of potential events for discussion with the Director of Events and Central Scheduling. Offers to help colleagues during busy times and for overlapping responsibilities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, event/business management, or a related field and/or a combination of relevant education, training, certifications, and/or 3-5 years of related work experience.
Previous customer service experience, preferably in the events industry. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to interact with varied constituencies.
Ability to lift 30 pounds.
Ability to move between buildings and walk for extended periods.
Technically proficient and experienced in working with systems and applications. These include software platforms for scheduling, space planning and logistics through software tools.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, as needed.
A general understanding of sound, lighting and video systems.
Ability to travel may be required for trade shows, conferences, etc.
Able to support, contribute to, and strengthen a vibrant, culturally diverse, and inclusive learning community of students, alumni, faculty, and fellow professionals.

Compensation:
The hourly range for this position is $25-28 per hour.Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Safety and Security Patrol: Patrols campus premises on foot or vehicle to ensure the safety and security of students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Identifies and responds to potential security threats, suspicious activities, and safety hazards. Monitors access to campus buildings and facilities and ensures that only authorized individuals enter restricted areas. Directs traffic during peak hours, special events, or emergencies, ensuring smooth flow and pedestrian safety.
Emergency Response: Responds promptly to emergency calls, provides first aid or assistance as needed, and coordinates with other emergency responders when required.
Crime Prevention: Monitors access points, enforces campus policies, and addresses violations like trespassing, vandalism, and theft. Conducts security checks on buildings and facilities.
Investigations: Collects evidence, interviews witnesses, and files detailed reports for further action by campus authorities or law enforcement if necessary.
Safety Training and Awareness: Attends safety workshops, training sessions, and awareness programs related to personal safety, fire safety, and active shooter preparedness.
Communication: Maintains clear and constant communication with other Campus Safety members, campus staff, and local law enforcement to coordinate responses to incidents effectively.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent and one year of experience in a related field, and/or a combination of relevant education, training, certifications, or work experience.
Associate’s degree in a related field of study may be substituted for work experience.
Valid NYS drivers license.
Current New York State Security Guard registration certification required.
Physical requirements: Ability to lift 50 lbs, walk and stand for extended periods, and climbing of stairs.
