Job Summary | The Network Security Engineer is responsible for providing technical leadership and oversight for complex, enterprise-wide services including the design, development and maintenance of campus security network infrastructure. The network security engineer is involved in all aspects of network security from detecting, tracking, identifying, collecting evidence & resolving break-ins, virus/worm infections, and campus hacking. In addition, the Network Security Engineer leads complex projects that often include individuals from different departments or portfolios and leadership. This position collaborates closely with other technical and IT leadership positions providing high-level guidance, mentoring and training including helping to develop other technical employees. |
Minimum Qualifications | Bachelor's degree and six (6) years relevant professional work experience including formal training in information technology and network security. |
Preferred Qualifications | Experience supporting Higher Education environment. |

As a Foster Care Home Finder, you will recruit, train, certify, and maintain foster and pre-adoptive foster homes to children from birth through age 21 who have been removed from their homes and placed in foster care. Each foster parent receives training and ongoing professional support to promote a positive, successful experience. You will report to the Foster Care Recruitment Coordinator and you will work on-site
Responsibilities:
- Participate actively in community activities and events to recruit foster parents
- Participate in developing an active recruitment plan for recruiting foster parents
- Handle inquiries and applications from potential foster parents
- Facilitate all orientation meetings with potential foster parents
- Complete all paperwork for the certification process
- Prepare and present NTDC training for potential foster parents
- Assess families’ ability to foster children as it relates to the 14 Characteristics of Successful Parents who Foster or Adopt
- Complete home studies for all recommended foster homes
- Conduct safety assessments to assure the health and safety of foster homes
- Facilitate agency pre-certification trainings
- Maintain certified foster family records
- Handle the recertification process, including development of yearly reauthorization narrative with each family, assessing strengths and needs of the foster home
- Provide ongoing training and support for certified parents in conjunction with the foster care team
- Check with certified families on quarterly basis to monitor strengths and needs of the foster home
- Consult with Program Coordinator on homes and placement of children
- Coordinate annual holiday party and a foster parent appreciation event as retention efforts
Requirements and Education:
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, sociology, psychology, education or related field
- At least two years of related experience
- Requires a valid New York driver’s license

Position Purpose: Installs, maintains, and repairs electrical systems in residential, and commercial College owned properties according to job specifications and local codes. Follows and enforce safety standards and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Operations: Meets the electrical needs of the campus community by performing work requests, emergencies, and special set-ups for faculty, staff and students. Works with various departments in order to achieve common goals and desires. Duties include: Ballast/driver, switch/receptacle, and breaker/feeder replacements.
- Maintenance: Performs and maintains functionality of equipment and systems, including: emergency lighting, switchgear, variable frequency drives, motor control centers, transformers, and battery back-up systems. Conducts monthly preventive maintenance in order to minimize equipment downtime.
- Projects: Plans and lays out work accordingly with knowledge and understanding of reading blueprints. Contributes to team projects consisting of lighting retrofits, additional circuitry, Electrical vehicle (EV) charger installations, and feeder upgrades.
- Trouble-Shooting: Inspects electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, ensuring compliance with codes. Identifies and diagnoses electrical issues. Collaborates with team members on finding the best approach while leading to set an example. Reads and interprets one-line diagrams in order to diagnose failures, and develops new skills through hands-on training.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma, two-year technical trade school, or apprenticeship program, and/or a combination of relevant education, training, certifications, and/or work experience.
- Five years as a Journeyman Electrician, experience in residential, commercial, and industrial applications.
- Valid Commercial Electrician’s License, preferably in Schenectady, Albany, or Troy.
- Available for round-the-clock emergency response both on and off campus.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe software.
- Knowledge of medium voltage three phase systems (13.2KV), WYE/DELTA and low voltage systems (24, 120, 208, 277, and 480v).
- Must have a valid New York State Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
- Must be safety conscious.
- Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams, diagnose motor and motor control failures, and capacity to grow and develop skills through hands-on training.
- Physical requirements: Ability to perform physical tasks for extended periods, including standing, walking, and bending, as well as the capability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Strong understanding and application of the National Electrical Code, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards on electrical and work safety procedures.
- The ability to foster and enhance a thriving, diverse, inclusive, and culturally vibrant community, while promoting a sense of belonging among students, faculty and staff colleagues, and alumni.

Compensation
The rate for this position is $28.00 - $30.00 per hour. Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The stated hiring rate/range represents the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Clinician, Foster Care
MSW's with Limited Permit are eligible for $2500 signing bonus
Licensed Social Workers are eligible for a $7500 signing bonus
As a Foster Clinician, you will provide clinical services to children in foster care and support foster families, and families within the foster care system. The Therapeutic Foster Family Program provides foster and pre-adoptive foster homes for abused and neglected children from birth through age 21. Each foster parent receives intensive training and ongoing professional support to promote a positive, successful experience. You will report to the Clinical Supervisor and you will work onsite.
Responsibilities:
- Provide assessment, treatment planning and general counseling for children in foster care.
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy to children and families, when needed
- Conduct specialized risk assessments
- Consult with other staff involved in the care of the child and families
- Attend all case related meetings (Counsel on Special Education, Termination of Parental Rights, staff meetings, service provider meetings, emergency meetings, court), for cases they are serving
- Participate in formal and informal supervision.
- Meet regularly in the community regarding cases they are seeing for general counseling.
- Have regular communication/meeting with birth families around progress/problems of children in care and how to support them in and work towards permanency.
- Provide regular case documentation for all children and families on workload including assessments, progress notes, Family Service Plan, etc.
Requirements and Education:
- Requires a Master’s degree in counseling with related experience.
- Limited permit is required; professional licensure (LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, LCAT) preferred.

Job Summary | The Department of Biological Sciences at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY invites applications for tenure-track/tenured faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate, or full Professor levels. The successful candidate will join the faculty in the 218,000 square foot Center for Biotechnology and Interdisciplinary Studies (CBIS), which contains staff-supported core facilities and promotes an atmosphere for interdisciplinary collaboration. The Institute for Data Exploration and Applications (IDEA) enables an opportunity to partner with faculty that are at the forefront of biological data analytics, enabling the modeling and simulation power to advance the quantitative and systems biology approaches that are widely employed in the department. IDEA and the Center for Computational Innovation provide collaborative opportunities to use the fastest supercomputer found at a private university. More recently, Rensselaer and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai launched the Center for Engineering and Precision Medicine (CEPM) in New York City to engage in both fundamental and translational biomedical research both in New York City and the Troy campus, expanding collaborative opportunities with a world class medical school for Rensselaer faculty. Job Summary | The Department of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) at RENSSELAER POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE in Troy, NY, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or tenured Associate Professor position in Materials Science and Engineering with expertise and potential in the broad area of bulk/thin film metallic materials. Job Summary | The Department of Earth & Environmental Sciences (E&ES) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY invites applications for one open rank, and one assistant level tenure-track/tenured position, both in Earth Systems Science. Research areas in the E&ES Department currently include experimental, analytical, and environmental geochemistry, petrology of Earth’s systems, biogeochemistry, astrobiology, geomicrobiology, and modern and ancient climate change. We are seeking applicants whose research will complement and grow these strengths, and whose research programs address fundamental problems in Earth Systems science, including, but not limited to: 1. Natural systems and environmental geochemistry, global change, critical zone science, soil science, environmental mineralogy. Any candidate with a computational approach in the above research areas is also encouraged to apply. The successful candidates will have duties that include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the Department of Earth & Environmental Sciences, engaging in the Geology and Environmental Sciences undergraduate degree programs, developing and maintaining robust programs of research and scholarship, and providing service to the department, the School of Science, and to Rensselaer.
