Job Description:
As a Residential Youth Counselor, you will provide daily therapeutic care and programming according to agency policy and governing bodies' (DSS, OMH, JCAHO, etc.) requirements for elementary aged children.. You will work on-site on our Albany campus and will report to the Residential Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
Provide for the physical and psychological needs of clients, including physical safety, hygiene, clothing, food, cooking, medical care, and providing a reliable and nurturing environment.
1 on 1 Residential Counselor
You will follow an individual youth’s 1:1 expectations plan, ICMP, and any safety plans in place.
Engage the youth in activities and conversation that are age appropriate and at the appropriate developmental level.
Document in writing a summary of each shift.
Learn the history and specific issues associated with the youth who requires 1:1; will learn how to safely manage any crisis.
Seek and obtain training in any particular area specific to the youth who requires 1:1care.
Transport 1:1 client for medical, mental health, and other essential needs.
Residential Counselor level 1
Experience with emotionally disturbed population is preferred.
You will must be able to work within trauma informed framework of program, including identifying and using coping/safety plans, maintaining consistency, providing regular routine, and controlling own response to youth.
Engage and form positive relationship with all youth served.
Complete all mandatory trainings according to programmatic guidelines.
Display basic competency in TCI techniques.
Follow outlined program routines, therapeutic plans of youth, and program rules and protocols.
Work as part of a team including colleague residential counselors, clinicians, on line oncall, supervisors, and other administrative and functional support staff.
Maintain respectful and appropriate communication with internal and external customers,including county workers, medical staff, parents etc.
Complete and maintain documentation to meet programmatic and regulatory standards.
Transport clients for medical, mental health, and other essential needs.
Residential Counselor level 2
At least six months of related experience is required with demonstrated competency in Level 1 essential job duties listed above. One year of related experience is desiredplus the following:
You will facilitate groups/coached visitation, understanding and applying curriculum and appropriate practice models, i.e. DBT, SAY, etc.
Take on specific leadership responsibilities for dorm/cottage, including coordinating activities, participating in program-wide committee.
Must have the ability, skill, and knowledge to take a lead role in a team.
Form positive relationships with more challenging youth and families.
Residential Counselor level 3 (Senior RC)
At least one year of related experience is required with demonstrated competency in Level 2 essential job responsibilities listed above. Two years or more related experience is desiredplus the following:
Display critical thinking and problem solving skills related to residential program needs.
Display good judgment and decision making related to all program routines, therapeutic plans of youth, and program rules and protocols.
Lead, delegate, and plan work for other team members.
Requirements and Education:
HS Diploma/GED required.
Experience working with emotionally disturbed population.
A valid, clean driver's license is required.
Must pass physical.
Must be able to complete TCI training.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervision and Leadership: Leads, supervises, and coordinates the activities of the custodial team to ensure all assigned tasks are completed. Assesses job performance of custodians for yearly evaluation. Prioritizes/schedules work to be done by custodians. Ensures custodians have completed their assigned tasks in each area.
Cleaning and Maintenance: Performs regular cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, etc. Utilizing cleaning equipment such as butler van, ride on scrubbers, and advanced cleaning equipment. Conducts regular inspections of all areas ensuring areas are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards. Provides coverage for absent staff to maintain cleaning standards.
Communication and Collaboration: Communicates effectively with the Supervisor of Building Maintenance and other staff members about cleaning schedules, and needs. Resolves any custodian related concerns promptly. Pitches in to assist colleagues as needed.
Operations: Monitors and manages inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment. Executes special cleaning tasks as requested, beyond routine daily cleaning duties. Stays informed about standards for the use, handling, and disposal of cleaning chemicals. Supports the work request system's administrative functions related to cleaning tasks.
Administration: Processes monthly requests for cleaning supplies. Approves bi-weekly time sheets for all applicable custodians. Attends seminars and other courses of study designed to improve job performance. Complies with departmental and college policies and procedures. Schedules all vacation and absence time off for their team. Schedules appropriate staffing for major events such as ReUnion, Commencement, Trustees, etc.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
A minimum of three years of custodial experience. A minimum of three years of supervisory experience within a custodial environment is preferred.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and special events.
Thorough knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper handling, and disposal procedures.
Must have a valid New York State Driver's License with a clean driving record.
Strong organizational and leadership skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Physical requirements: Ability to perform physical tasks for extended periods, including standing, walking, and bending, as well as the capability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.

Compensation:
The rate for this position is $19.00 per hour. The Full-Time Faculty member is a faculty position with exempt status. Reporting to the Department Chair, this non-tenure track, full-time faculty position is expected to provide academic instruction to degree, certificate, and non-degree learners. Reporting to one of three Associate Directors, the Community Director (CD) is responsible for the comprehensive management of 1-2 residence halls or smaller cluster of houses, approximately 350 residents and supervising up to 12 student staff members. The CD serves as an active and visible residential life staff member that is responsible for facilitating an engaging building community-level residential experience that is highly relational; fosters curiosity and learning; centers well-being; and supports students in successfully finding their way. Primary duties and responsibilities include: implementing the residential engagement model, administration and supervision, support for student development, crisis management, student conduct administration, community development, collaboration with facility management, as well as college and departmental committee assignments.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties: This position works directly with our Fraternity and Sorority Life Community, overseeing 10 fraternity/sorority housing units and serving as an advisor for at least one Greek council and other community building initiatives.
Community Development:
Works proactively toward creating an inclusive community atmosphere in which people respect each other’s rights, cultures, and sensitivities.
Develop, implement, manage, and assess student engagement and community development initiatives as well as Collaborate with other departments across the college through the Student & Campus Life.
Provides accurate advice and guidance to students based on their individual needs.
Establishes a schedule that is appropriate for a student-facing, residentially focused role. Schedules work hours that meet the needs of students inside the assigned community. This includes some evening and weekend hours essential for programs and training. Maintains a visible and active presence in their residence hall(s).
Actively engage with students and community through frequently attending community engagement and campus events, community walk throughs and open office hours.
Support specific community needs as associated with assigned residence halls, which could include fraternity/sorority housing, theme communities, the Minerva Program (our living learning community), and others.
Supervision:
Select, train, supervise, evaluate and develop student staff, consisting of an undergraduate Head Resident Assistant (HRA), several undergraduate Resident Assistants (RA) and possible House Managers (HMs), who shall jointly assist in the development of a residential environment for learning
Ensures ongoing staff development to help student staff learn leadership skills and mentor others.
Plans weekly staff meetings and meets with each staff member individually on a routine basis.
Educates all student staff about various campus resources.
Manages and supports community development efforts, including the implementation of curricular engagement guides and corresponding assessments.
Health and Safety:
Monitors and intervenes with students who may be struggling academically and/or with other behavioral and developmental issues.
Refers accordingly to services as needed.
Participates in regular professional staff on-call rotation, providing crisis intervention and serving as a resource or referral agent. Mediates roommate conflicts. Responsible for performing weekly and break on call duty coverage as directed
Understands and enforces Code of Student Conduct and other policies regarding behavior, safety, security, health, and other matters in cooperation with the appropriate offices.
Serves as a campus hearing officer through service as an educator during discussions with the involved resident(s) in an attempt to instill an understanding of the educational philosophy of the conduct process.
Building Management:
Collaborate with Res Ed Leadership team regarding resident management operations (e.g., initiating and tracking space changes, making resident space assignments, annual room selection and re-selection process, summer conference housing, etc.).
Work cooperatively with Residence Life staff in coordinating move-in/move-out processes each term in assigned hall or apartment area.
Promotes fire safety through programs, inspections, and scheduled fire drills.
Ensures damages are reported and documented to the facilities department.
Routinely walks assigned residential areas to check for any facilities issues and submits work orders as needed.
Administration:
Oversee the daily operation of residential communities, including, check-in and checkout procedures, facility, and security management
Manages the budget for assigned staff, allocating resources to support programming, events, and operational expenses.
Assist the Res Ed Leadership team with the coordination of annual projects [e.g., Student Staff Selection, Room Selection, Training, Opening/Closing, Room Changes, Publications/Website, Summer Conference Housing] and Serves on college committees as assigned.
Assists with administrative office duties.
Offers to pitch in to help colleagues during crunch times and overlapping deliverables.
Fulfill other general duties assigned by the Office of Residential Education and Housing, Division of Student Affairs, and/or Union College.
Fraternity and Sorority Life Specifics:
Coordinate with Associate Director daily operations of Fraternity and Sorority Life.
Advise and develop one or more assigned FSL student governing councils, including the Interfraternity Council (IFC), Multicultural Greek Council (MGC), National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) or Panhellenic Council (CPC), and Order of Omega.
Maintains statistics, rosters, and Fraternity/Sorority records.
Assist the Assistant Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life office-related webpages, social media accounts.
Participates in departmental teams for leadership development and student group advisement, including leadership development, skills training, hazing prevention, and wellness initiatives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in Higher Education preferred , College Student Personnel, Counseling or related field and/or a combination of relevant education, training, certifications, and/or work experience.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Position Purpose: Provides essential office and administrative support for a high traffic student-facing department within student affairs, ensuring the efficient operation of systems and processes to support Union students. Coordinates and executes various student programming events.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Office Support and Customer Service: Provides office support for the four Class Deans and Director of International Student Services. Greets and directs office visitors to the appropriate party. Supports the international check-in process as a Designated School Official (DSO), providing travel signatures for international students.
Administrative and Finance:Orders office and program supplies. Assists Class Deans with data collection and reports for the student leave process through Slate and Qualtrics. Develops a working knowledge of Workday to process payments, reconcile transactions, secure procurement bids, and complete other finance tasks. Student Programming:Actively participates in weekly/bi-weekly department and planning meetings. Qualifications:
