Teacher Assistant
Sign On Bonus - $1,500 (paid in 2 parts)
Available shifts - Monday - Friday between 7:30 am - 5:00 pm - no weekends
As a Teacher Assistant, you will assist the classroom teacher in all aspects of teaching, behavior management, and supporting students success in school. You will report to the Preschool Supervising Teacher and you will work onsite.
Responsibilities:
- Follow all Agency policies and procedures, along with state and federal regulations pertaining to our school and students.
- Assist the teacher in devising special strategies for reinforcing material or skills based on an understanding of individual students, their needs, interests, and abilities; create and modify materials to match student abilities.
- Work with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of materials to match student abilities.
- Monitor student behavior and help maintain discipline in the classroom; record behavior data as requested; assist with crisis prevention; assist with de-escalation techniques with students.
- Assist in the implementation of behavior plans (BIP); recording behavior data; and the completion of incident reports when requested.
- Monitor, supervise and assist students during non-instructional periods within a variety of school environments (e.g. lunch, recess/breaks, bus loading/unloading, playground, classroom, washroom, field trips, transportation, assemblies, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining a safe and positive learning environment.
- Assist in the implementation of Pyramid Model principles and practices in the classroom to build social and emotional competence and to support children through nurturing and responsive relationships and a high-quality environment.
- Attend meetings, training, professional learning sessions (e.g. first aid, Pyramid, CPR, emergency procedures, behavior management) for the purpose of enhancing professional skills, competencies and to meet regulatory requirements (OCFS regulations require 30 hours in 5 areas over 2 years).
- Perform various clerical duties; maintain records of student progress; develop and file incident reports; maintain student files; check daily attendance; make copies; develop classroom displays and instructional material; maintain and operate computers, smartboards and other classroom equipment.
- Collaborate with teacher and other staff to incorporate information provided by parents, doctors, nurses, therapists and others in order to understand the needs of and provide services for students.
- Assist the teacher(s) with the administration of appropriate assessment tools, tests, and other curriculum measurements.
- Always monitor safety and well-being of students; monitor student attitudes and encourage positive behavior and interactions with peers.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as requested by the teacher and Director.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervision and Leadership: Leads, supervises, and coordinates the activities of the custodial team to ensure all assigned tasks are completed. Assesses job performance of custodians for yearly evaluation. Prioritizes/schedules work to be done by custodians. Ensures custodians have completed their assigned tasks in each area.
Cleaning and Maintenance: Performs regular cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, etc. Utilizing cleaning equipment such as butler van, ride on scrubbers, and advanced cleaning equipment. Conducts regular inspections of all areas ensuring areas are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards. Provides coverage for absent staff to maintain cleaning standards.
Communication and Collaboration: Communicates effectively with the Supervisor of Building Maintenance and other staff members about cleaning schedules, and needs. Resolves any custodian related concerns promptly. Pitches in to assist colleagues as needed.
Operations: Monitors and manages inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment. Executes special cleaning tasks as requested, beyond routine daily cleaning duties. Stays informed about standards for the use, handling, and disposal of cleaning chemicals. Supports the work request system's administrative functions related to cleaning tasks.
Administration: Processes monthly requests for cleaning supplies. Approves bi-weekly time sheets for all applicable custodians. Attends seminars and other courses of study designed to improve job performance. Complies with departmental and college policies and procedures. Schedules all vacation and absence time off for their team. Schedules appropriate staffing for major events such as ReUnion, Commencement, Trustees, etc.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
A minimum of three years of custodial experience. A minimum of three years of supervisory experience within a custodial environment is preferred.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and special events.
Thorough knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper handling, and disposal procedures.
Must have a valid New York State Driver's License with a clean driving record.
Strong organizational and leadership skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Physical requirements: Ability to perform physical tasks for extended periods, including standing, walking, and bending, as well as the capability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.

The Head of Resource Management provides leadership and management for the acquisitions of all materials, including providing access to holdings via the library’s discovery tools and knowledge base. They develop and manage the acquisitions budget in consultation and collaboration with the College Librarian and the Head of Collection Development, and they supervise acquisitions, continuations, and finance staff in the Resource Management unit. The incumbent participates in library-wide services and projects, such as instruction, workshops, and events for the diverse Union community.
Responsibilities
Organize and maintain access to the library’s print, electronic, streaming, and continuing resources in all formats using a variety of platforms, including the library’s electronic resource management systems, knowledge base, Library Services Platform, and user-facing discovery tools (Primo, LibGuides database A-Z list).
Manage workflows and staff for the acquisition and financial workflows necessary to maintain a robust library collection in all formats.

Position Title: Community Director
Pay Status and Classification: Exempt, Regular Full-time
This is a full-time, twelve-month live-in position that includes a furnished on-campus apartment including utilities with responsibility of serving on-call and supporting evening and weekend activities.
Supervisor:Director of Residential Education & Housing
Position Purpose:
Reporting to one of three Associate Directors, the Community Director (CD) is responsible for the comprehensive management of 1-2 residence halls or smaller cluster of houses, approximately 350 residents and supervising up to 12 student staff members. The CD serves as an active and visible residential life staff member that is responsible for facilitating an engaging building community-level residential experience that is highly relational; fosters curiosity and learning; centers well-being; and supports students in successfully finding their way. Primary duties and responsibilities include: implementing the residential engagement model, administration and supervision, support for student development, crisis management, student conduct administration, community development, collaboration with facility management, as well as college and departmental committee assignments.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties: This position works directly with our Fraternity and Sorority Life Community, overseeing 10 fraternity/sorority housing units and serving as an advisor for at least one Greek council and other community building initiatives.
Community Development:
Works proactively toward creating an inclusive community atmosphere in which people respect each other’s rights, cultures, and sensitivities.
Develop, implement, manage, and assess student engagement and community development initiatives as well as Collaborate with other departments across the college through the Student & Campus Life.

Administrative and Finance:Orders office and program supplies. Assists Class Deans with data collection and reports for the student leave process through Slate and Qualtrics. Develops a working knowledge of Workday to process payments, reconcile transactions, secure procurement bids, and complete other finance tasks. Student Programming:Actively participates in weekly/bi-weekly department and planning meetings. Coordinates and supports program logistics (e.g. collaborates with campus stakeholders, secures transportation, gathers bids, reserves campus spaces using 25Live, enters catering orders in Catertrax. etc.) for Orientation, and other programming. Attends programming to ensure proper event setup and execution.
Qualifications:
Associate’s degree and three to five years of administrative experience, or a combination of relevant education, training, certifications, and/or work experience. Experience working in a higher education and a small liberal arts environment is preferred.
The applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident to fulfill the role of Designated School Official (DSO), in compliance with federal regulations.

Administrative: Manages Handshake, which includes the calendar of events, online appointment scheduling system, employer job/internship module, and manages data tracking for all programming. Maintains the accuracy and security of highly confidential student, alumni and employer data by collaborating with other departments including ITS, Dean of Students, and Registrar’s office. Manages office supply inventory and reconciles the accounts payable process for various orders/purchasing needs. Reports and manages any facility or IT needs for the office. Works closely with the Executive Director on account updates and with forecasting budgets. Tracks participation in all programs and events, maintains the data, and generates statistical reports to provide key metrics to support the annual Career Center assessment of results including producing the Annual Report. Manages the first destination data collection process including using Qualtrics, coordinating participation in the Pre-Commencement Fair, and collaborating with the Office of Institutional Research. Qualifications:

Position Description:
A Ph.D. in chemistry or a closely related field is required. Successful candidates will have the potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching and research, and should be committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive community. Teaching responsibilities will be primarily in introductory chemistry courses and labs, with additional teaching responsibilities depending on the successful candidate's area(s) of expertise and departmental need. This position involves teaching, on average, two courses in each of three trimesters. About the Department of Chemistry:
The Department of Chemistry comprises thirteen permanent faculty members with support from an administrative assistant and a laboratory specialist. One faculty member also serves as the Department’s dedicated instrumentation specialist. Annually, about 20 students graduate with a degree in chemistry or biochemistry, and about 40% of the students on campus take introductory chemistry courses during their time at Union.
