Job Summary | The Lally School of Management at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute seeks applications for a tenure-track (or tenured) faculty position at the Associate Professor level in Business Analytics/Supply Chain Management starting Fall 2024. Candidates must have a PhD degree from an accredited university in Analytics, Operations Research, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a closely related field, along with demonstrated evidence to produce original and innovative scholarly work with publications in premier business journals. The successful candidate will join the School either as a tenure-track assistant professor, or as an associate professor, based on teaching and research experience and success. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated potential and commitment to effective teaching in our graduate and undergraduate degree programs in supply chain and business analytics, as well as provide service to the School of Management and to Rensselaer. The position requires excellence in research in the area of supply chain and analytics, effective written communication skills, and strong technical skills in areas such as analytical modeling, data management, machine learning and computation. Demonstrated interest in emerging technologies including artificial intelligence and Blockchain and in topics relevant to global shifts in supply chains would be a plus. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage with and develop research initiatives aligned both within the Lally School and with the new strategic research initiatives at Rensselaer. The School provides an intellectually stimulating and collaborative environment for inter-disciplinary scholarly contributions with support for research, teaching, and service. We are seeking an outstanding candidate who is driven and willing to engage with the vibrant, diverse and inclusive cross-disciplinary research community at Rensselaer. About the Lally School of Management at RPI: Rensselaer is ranked among the top 50 national universities and is a Carnegie I research institution. The Lally school offers undergraduate, masters, MBA and Ph.D. programs in several analytics related disciplines and the school is expecting to grow significantly in deep analytics offerings in marketing, supply chain and operations, quantitative finance, and information systems, to name a few. Approximately 350 undergraduate students, 120 MBA/MS students and 20 Ph.D. students are currently enrolled in the school of Management. The Lally School of Management is AACSB-accredited. Supervisor: Transportation Manager
Position Purpose: Provides transportation of Union College students, staff and community members to and from College approved locations following safety protocols.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Safety Compliance: Conducts pre-trip inspections of equipment before each designated route. Reports concerns regarding vehicle safety, road hazards, and safety for the community being served i.e. road hazards, sick or intoxicated students to the immediate supervisor from Campus Safety. Complies with random drug and alcohol testing requirements.
- Trip Management and Reporting: Provides trip information to the dispatcher before each trip. Maintains scheduled times and locations for the 'Trolley Service.' Reports all incidents, whether minor or major, to the immediate supervisor from Campus Safety.
Qualifications:
- Two or more years of transportation driving experience.
- Valid NYS Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Strong communication skills and ability to exercise exceptional judgment and demonstrate outstanding professionalism in a range of situations.
- Demonstrated commitment to following safety procedures.
- The ability to foster and enhance a thriving, culturally diverse, and inclusive learning community, while promoting a sense of belonging among students, alumni, faculty, and staff colleagues.
- Able to anticipate, deliver on, and exceed the expectations of constituencies served e.g., students, faculty, alumni, supervisees, and colleagues.
The expected rate for this position is $15.00 per hour. Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The stated hiring rate/range represents the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Trolley Driver, On Call
Pay Status and Classification: Temp, part-time.
Supervisor: Transportation Manager
Position Purpose: Provides transportation of Union College students, staff and community members to and from College approved locations following safety protocols
Responsibilities:
- Duties of the driver include a pre-trip inspection of the equipment to be used during the designated route
- Provide the dispatcher with trip information prior to the start of each trip
- Maintain the scheduled times and locations as posted for the Trolley Service
- Report all concerns of vehicle safety, including concerns of safety for the community being served, i.e. road hazards, sick or intoxicated students to the immediate supervisor from Campus Safety
- Report any incidents whether they appear minor or major to the driver
- Drivers must possess and maintain a valid New State Commercial Drivers License, minimum class "B" with "P" endorsement.
- 2+ years of transportation driving experience
- Strong communications skills for working with a diverse group of college Faculty, Staff and Students
- Drivers are subject to commercial driver’s license (CDL) standards.
- All drivers are subject to random drug and alcohol testing as mandated by citations “49 CFR 382” & “49 CFR 40”
