The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering welcomes applicants with a commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and mentoring undergraduates in the field of Civil Engineering. The CEE Department currently possesses expertise in the fields of geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, transportation engineering, water quality and hydrology. We are particularly interested in increasing our capacity in the field of Structural Engineering. The new hire will teach courses in the curriculum as appropriate, including core classes and upper-level courses such as the fundamental theory of structure, as well as electives. In addition, there is an expectation that all new hires in the Department will teach at least one course annually to non-engineers ideally as part of the College’s new Complex Questions/Global Challenges and Social Justice common curriculum. The new hire will also be heavily involved in the ABET accreditation process which includes opportunities for curriculum development and assessment.
The successful candidate will also have a passion for interdisciplinary collaboration. The CEE department has a close relationship with the Environmental Science, Policy, and Engineering Program. In addition, consistent with Union’s goal to break new ground with respect to integrating engineering fields with the liberal arts, we welcome applicants who are eager to explore joint programming possibilities with departments and programs in the humanities and social sciences, including with interdisciplinary programs.
All candidates must have an earned Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering and expertise in the area of structural engineering; applicants close to finishing the Ph.D. will be considered. Successful candidates will demonstrate the potential to advance a research program at Union College that involves undergraduates. Preference will also be given to those who have a demonstrated interest in undergraduate teaching. Successful candidates will detail an interest, understanding, and commitment to the support and development of all students through education, research, and/or service. Professional licensure (P.E) in Civil Engineering is preferred but not required.
About the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department:
Union currently offers ABET-accredited degrees in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, and Biomedical Engineering. The department of Civil and Environmental Engineering began offering B.S. degrees in Civil Engineering & Environmental Engineering during the 2023-2024 academic year and is actively working toward ABET accreditation. This project is part of a strategic initiative, supported by a historic gift, to both broaden Union’s engineering offerings and integrate the study of engineering and computer science with the liberal arts, inside and outside of the classroom, to benefit students across the College. The CEE Department will have a footprint within the new Engineering & Computer Science Initiative building opening in Fall of 2027.

Position Purpose: Provide oversight of Student Receivables, including responsibility for billing and collection. Act as a key liaison between the student, their family and the campus community.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Manage the Student Account Receivables which involves the billing and collection of tuition and fees.
Communicating with students and their families via phone, email, mail or in person to investigate and resolve customer queries, inclusive of third party invoicing.
Monitor Federal Regulations for higher education accounts receivable compliance.

As a Special Education Teacher, you will develop and implement classroom instructional plans for students and support students success in academic and behavioral goals. You will report to the Assistant Principle and you will work onsite.

Position Purpose: Technical support for the Department of Electrical, Computer, and Biomedical Engineering. Maintain and upgrade test equipment, computer hardware and software, and electronics supplies for classrooms and teaching laboratories. Assist students and faculty with projects involving electronics and computer components and maintain a safe working environment for project work.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Maintain test equipment in department classrooms and teaching laboratories.
Test equipment, includes: power supplies, oscilloscopes, signal generators, multimeters, soldering stations, and testing kits (multimeter and scope probes, cables, solderless breadboard).
Maintain computers (both hardware and software) in department classrooms and teaching laboratories. Software responsibilities include software updates, licenses, imaging/memory management, and connectivity with test equipment.
Maintain inventories of electrical and computer supplies. Electrical supplies include: resistors, capacitors, inductors, semiconductors, wire, breadboards, probe cables, and hand tools. Computer supplies include: USB cables, video cables, mice, and keyboards.
Provide support for student capstone and student/faculty research projects. Support includes purchasing components, addressing questions related to stock electronic components, and providing assistance with test equipment.
Ensure all safety standards and work practices (e.g. soldering) within the department classrooms are followed according to college policy and law. Assist in coordinating lab safety standards for ABET accreditation.
Qualifications:
Proficiency with electronic test equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and power supplies.
Proficiency in soldering and desoldering electronic components, as well as soldering safety protocols.
Proficiency in computer maintenance and connectivity with laboratory instrumentation.
Experience with supporting laboratory safety standards.
Experience with the diagnosis and minor repair of electronic and computer equipment.
Minimum of two years of vocational/technical school or equivalent knowledge in electrical and computer engineering.
Experience with engineering software (e.g., circuit simulation and MATLAB) microcontrollers and embedded systems, and working in educational or research laboratory settings preferred.

This position is focused in the area of mechatronics with a specialty in robotics. We seek socio-cultural candidates whose research addresses and who can teach courses on: environmental anthropology, economic anthropology, science and technology studies, public health, and/or indigeneity. Head Women’s Flag Football Coach

Our new colleague will teach two courses each year (winter and spring trimesters; early January through mid-June 2026), which are components of our year-longclinical sequence: Clinical Psychology 2: Interventions (with a lab), and Clinical Psychology 3: Internship. Clinical Psychology 2:Interventions covers theories of psychotherapy and communication, and with an experiential labsection. Position description:
The Department of Psychology at Union College, Schenectady, New York, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor specializing in Neuroscience. Ph.D. in Neuroscience or related field is required; degree in hand by appointment date is preferable. Area of research specialization is less important than research that is programmatic and theoretically directed toward understanding the human brain. Areas of research that would complement our existing department include any using neuroscientific and/or computational neuroscientific approaches to study: sensation and perception; cognition broadly; memory; complex cognition; diversity; culture; social/emotional cognition; judgment and decision making; and/or neuroeconomics. Ability to teach, advise, and mentor a diverse population of undergraduates is essential. Please note: Our department is also hiring for the position of Assistant Professor in COGNITIVE PSYCHOLOGY. Administrative:Responsible for accounts payable for event vendors and accounts receivable for client invoices. Administers contract cycle (create, negotiate, approve, execute), develops program plans, monthly and quarterly reports and forecasts. Generates reports on profitability of potential events for discussion with the Director of Events and Central Scheduling. Offers to help colleagues during busy times and for overlapping responsibilities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, event/business management, or a related field and/or a combination of relevant education, training, certifications, and/or 3-5 years of related work experience.
Previous customer service experience, preferably in the events industry. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to interact with varied constituencies.

The Department of Psychology at Union College, Schenectady, New York, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor specializing in Cognitive Psychology, broadly defined. We are seeking a candidate whose research area explores the interaction between biological systems and the environment as it relates to epidemiology and/or public health. Potential subjects of study include, but are not limited to: host-vector biology, microbiomes, evolution and transmission of infectious agents, genetic epidemiology, and environmental influences on pathogenesis. Candidates using combinations of field-based, wet-lab, genomics, and/or computational approaches are highly preferred. All candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in a biology or in a related field and preference will be given to those with at least one year of postdoctoral experience in research or teaching. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent preparation to teach courses in Colonial and Modern Latin America, including courses that reflect the candidate’s area(s) of specialization, which will contribute to the Latin American and Caribbean Studies Program and other relevant interdisciplinary programs (such as Gender, Sexuality, & Women’s Studies, Environmental Science, Policy, & Engineering, and/or Africana Studies) as well as the College’s General Education curriculum. The ability to teach pre-Columbian, indigenous and/or global history is highly desirable. The normal teaching load at Union College is six courses over three trimesters; the candidate would be expected to offer courses ranging from the introductory level to junior seminars and to supervise senior projects. Ph.D. in History or closely related field required at time of appointment (September 1, 2026).
About the History Department:
The History Department at Union College offers undergraduate courses that range from introductory surveys, through more focused topical courses, to advanced seminars. Many of these are writing-intensive courses that contribute to Union’s Writing Across the Curriculum program. All history majors write a senior thesis, a significant independent project directed by a History professor. Faculty teach courses in their respective areas of expertise, including by region, African, American (colonial, nineteenth, and twentieth century), East Asian, European (medieval, early modern, and modern), Latin America, South Asian, as well as topics such as digital history, environmental history, history of gender and identity, history of science and technology, Jewish history, and public history. Department members are active researchers with a strong publication record with prominent journals and publishers.

Supervisor: Director Of Enterprise Systems & Networking, Information Technology Services
Position Purpose:The Systems Administrator reports to the Director of Enterprise Systems and is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, operations and security of the enterprise administrative and academic information systems, including physical and virtual server infrastructure, various on-premises and cloud-based applications, endpoint deployment and management platforms, and monitoring and disaster recovery utilities. The position is expected to provide system provisioning and maintenance in a manner that is consistent with College’s goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
System Administration: Manages, maintains, and secures Union’s physical and virtual computing infrastructure and application services. Installs and configures servers, operating systems, and both on-premises and cloud-based applications. Implements security measures to protect institutional data and prevent unauthorized access. Manages user accounts and access rights in accordance with privacy, security, and compliance best practices. Maintains endpoint deployment platforms, automated system jobs, and disaster recovery systems. Assists team members with technical issues and works with vendors to resolve problems and determine equipment requirements.
System Deployment and Maintenance: Supports deployments, upgrades, and migrations to maintain stable and secure environments. Participates in assessing requirements, applying patches, and implementing configuration changes. Assists in evaluating new technologies that enhance system reliability, efficiency, and security.
Security and Compliance: Applies secure system configuration, patching, and access controls to protect institutional infrastructure. Monitors system activity to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities. Ensures compliance with institutional policies and supports disaster recovery planning, testing, and documentation.
Documentation and Continuous Improvement: Develops and maintains operational and procedural documentation related to enterprise systems. Contributes to emergency procedures and identifies opportunities to automate or improve system administration tasks.
Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Processes service requests and resolves escalated incidents efficiently. Diagnoses and addresses issues affecting hardware, operating systems, and application services. Performs root cause analysis and collaborates with ITS staff and vendors to prevent recurrence and minimize disruption.
Collaboration: Works and partners with all members of the ITS department to be responsive to the needs of users and to work on projects as needed. Shares expertise with colleagues and communicates effectively with users, technical staff, and vendors to ensure reliable service delivery.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Science or related field and/or a combination of relevant education, training, certifications, and/or work experience.
3 years systems management experience in production grade server environments preferred.
Working knowledge of server virtualization technologies (i.e. VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, etc.).
Experience managing Active Directory or other LDAP based services.
Proficiency in task automation scripting technologies (i.e., PowerShell, Unix Shell, etc.).
Experience with Endpoint deployment and management services.
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Experience in a service-oriented environment.
