Job Summary

The Associate Director of the Severino Center for Technological Entrepreneurship will play a pivotal role in fostering a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem within the Rensselaer community. The Associate Director will be involved with strategic planning, program development, and community engagement to support aspiring entrepreneurs across various disciplines. The Associate Director will work closely with the Director to implement initiatives that promote innovation, business development, and entrepreneurial education.

Qualifications

At minimum, candidates will have a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Business, Entrepreneurship, or a related field, along with five (5) or more years in entrepreneurship, business development, or a related area.

Candidates with the following are strongly preferred:

• Master's Degree in MS, MBA, Ph.D. or similar, along with a bachelor's in a STEM, business, or entrepreneurship field. 
• 10+ years of experience, to include experience in fundraising and grant writing in addition to experience in entrepreneurship, business development, or a related area

Job Summary

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Research and working collaboratively with the Office for Research staff, the Research Development Specialist (RDS) will work with faculty, staff, departments, centers, and programs to pursue research funding opportunities. The RDS will support development of proposals—particularly large or complex proposals in our focus areas of computation, materials and manufacturing, microelectronics, energy and sustainability, life sciences and technology, and fundamental knowledge.

The RDS will develop a working knowledge of funding agencies such as the National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, Department of Defense, and Department of Energy and will provide guidance and support in funding agency outreach, team building, and all steps in proposal development, including providing editing and feedback on proposal documents. The RDS will liaise with Research Administration and Finance (RAF) and unit business administrators and support staff to ensure timely submission of proposal packages.

The RDS will build and maintain a database of faculty research areas, develop tools, guidance documents, and training workshops related to proposal development, and support strategic initiatives in the Office for Research.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
• Three to five years’ experience working in research development including experience developing and editing grant proposals, particularly for federal sponsors.

Job Summary

The Associate Director of First-Year Experience (FYE) serves as an expert in the needs of first year college students. The Director will advocate, educate, and serve as a resource for campus partners on how best to support entering college students both academically and socially. The Associate Director will develop and lead new student orientation and Navigating Rensselaer & Beyond and will develop learning outcomes for our first-year students and work to ensure programming aligns to meet those needs. The Associate Director is engaged proactively in helping ease the transition into college and support them into their second year. The Associate Director contributes to a culture of belonging utilizing equity-minded and inclusive practices in their work.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's Degree in College Student Personnel or Higher Education Administration, Counseling, or related field

Three (3) or more years of experience in higher education administration, student development or related discipline with progressive responsibility including supervision of full-time staff.

The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY, is seeking applications for the prestigious Frank and Lillian Gilbreth Endowed Chaired Professorship in Industrial and Systems Engineering. We are actively recruiting faculty at the Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor levels and we welcome applications for both the Career Development Chair (junior faculty) and the tenured full Chair professor levels.

Job Summary

The Director of Constituent Engagement directs all planning and implementation of a comprehensive and integrated, department-wide alumni engagement program on behalf of the Office of Alumni Engagement and the Division of Institute Advancement. The Director is responsible for the development of early student engagement programming, on and off-campus partnerships with Athletics, Fraternities and Sororities, and alumni affinity groups, focusing on earlier engagement of student leaders and alumni through activities with Rensselaer.

The Department of Science & Technology Studies (STS) in the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (HASS) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute seeks a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in the area of environmental sustainability, climate change, and society. The person hired for this position will teach required and elective undergraduate courses that support Rensselaer’s pathway, minor, and major in Sustainability Studies. This position is 60% teaching, 20% research, 20% service. Courses associated with this position include “Environment and Society,” “Community Engagement in a Changing Climate,” and “STS and Sustainability Senior Project,” among others.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimally, applicants must have a Ph.D. or foreign equivalent in Science and Technology Studies or a related field, such as Sociology, Anthropology, History, Geography, or Environmental Studies.
Candidates must be able to present evidence of effective teaching. Applications should demonstrate, through accomplishment, promise of academic, scholarly and/or research achievement.

Candidates with the following are preferred: the successful candidate will extend the STS Department’s research portfolio in the areas of environmental sustainability, public policy, and climate justice. We seek a scholar whose research and teaching are grounded in Science and Technology Studies (STS) and who will contribute to the STS Department’s broader commitments to socially engaged STS and design of alternative futures. Job Summary

The Director of Total Rewards is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing the organization's compensation, benefits and recognition strategies to attract, retain, and motivate employees. The Director will play a critical role in shaping the employee experience and fostering engagement and retention. The Director will provide consultative support to the Human Resources team on all compensation and benefit-related matters.

Duties and responsibilities include:
1. Oversee the design, implementation, and administration of the Rensselaer’s benefits programs, including health and wellness benefits, retirement plans, leave policies, and other employee perks. Evaluate benefits offerings regularly to ensure competitiveness and cost-effectiveness. Negotiate contracts, monitor service levels, and ensure vendors deliver value for the Institute.

2. Oversee the management of the qualified retirement plans. Recommend plan design changes, ensure compliance with all applicable laws related to retirement including reporting requirements, and serve as the primary liaison with the retirement plans’ actuary, third party administrators and attorneys for retirement related matters.

3. Lead all compensation initiatives, including the strategy and execution of job architecture, salary surveys, conducting overarching compensation analysis and updating compensation structure for all positions ensuring alignment with Institute goals.

4. Lead initiatives to create and sustain a culture of recognition and reward across the organization, including employee appreciation programs, spot awards, and long-term recognition. Work with leadership to design and implement engagement and reward initiatives that drive employee satisfaction, retention, and performance.

5. Utilize data analytics to assess the effectiveness of total rewards programs and identify areas for improvement. Prepare regular reports for senior management on key metrics, trends, and insights related to compensation and benefits.

6. Develop effective communication strategies to educate employees about the organization's total rewards offerings, including compensation, benefits, and other perks.

7. Evaluate escalated individual employees' issues that require special handling and recommend appropriate resolution including policy exceptions.

8. Provide leadership and guidance to the total rewards team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Develop talent within the team and support their professional growth and development.

9. Ensure that all compensation and benefits programs comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including FLSA, ERISA, ACA, and other relevant laws. Identify and mitigate risks related to retirement programs, including compliance risks and financial risks.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in human resources, business or related discipline
• Seven (7) or more years in directly related experience in Total Rewards (including 
  • Compensation Administration as well as Benefits and/or Retirement
  • At least three (3) years of experience in a leadership role
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing compensation strategies and benefit programs for a large or complex organization
  • Experience in negotiating with and managing third-party vendors and service providers

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Certifications such as Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS), Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF), or similar qualifications
• Experience managing retirement programs
• Experience in higher education

• Demonstrated deep understanding of compensation strategies, benefits design, and market trends.
• Knowledge of trends in retirement planning, including auto-enrollment, target-date funds, and other emerging plan features.

• A thorough understanding of relevant labor laws, regulations, and compliance requirements related to compensation and benefits including the administration of retirement plans.
• Ability to think strategically and align total rewards programs with business objectives.
• Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation to support data-driven decisions regarding compensation, benefits, and rewards programs.
• Ability to effectively negotiate and influence key stakeholders around compensation and benefit matters.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse population, under pressure, and to meet established goals and objectives.
• Strong technical skills in Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), specifically systems related to compensation tools and benefits administration.
• A proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers and key external constituents.
• Ability to develop materials and present ideas/recommendations at all levels within the organization to gain approval of programs/process changes.

Starting Salary/Rate

Expected hiring range: $150,000 - $200,000
