Job Summary | The Associate Director of the Severino Center for Technological Entrepreneurship will play a pivotal role in fostering a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem within the Rensselaer community. The Associate Director will be involved with strategic planning, program development, and community engagement to support aspiring entrepreneurs across various disciplines. The Associate Director will work closely with the Director to implement initiatives that promote innovation, business development, and entrepreneurial education. |

Job Summary | Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Research and working collaboratively with the Office for Research staff, the Research Development Specialist (RDS) will work with faculty, staff, departments, centers, and programs to pursue research funding opportunities. The RDS will support development of proposals—particularly large or complex proposals in our focus areas of computation, materials and manufacturing, microelectronics, energy and sustainability, life sciences and technology, and fundamental knowledge. The RDS will develop a working knowledge of funding agencies such as the National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, Department of Defense, and Department of Energy and will provide guidance and support in funding agency outreach, team building, and all steps in proposal development, including providing editing and feedback on proposal documents. The RDS will liaise with Research Administration and Finance (RAF) and unit business administrators and support staff to ensure timely submission of proposal packages. The RDS will build and maintain a database of faculty research areas, develop tools, guidance documents, and training workshops related to proposal development, and support strategic initiatives in the Office for Research. |

The Director will advocate, educate, and serve as a resource for campus partners on how best to support entering college students both academically and socially. Job Details | The Department of Science & Technology Studies (STS) in the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (HASS) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute seeks a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in the area of environmental sustainability, climate change, and society. The person hired for this position will teach required and elective undergraduate courses that support Rensselaer’s pathway, minor, and major in Sustainability Studies. This position is 60% teaching, 20% research, 20% service. Courses associated with this position include “Environment and Society,” “Community Engagement in a Changing Climate,” and “STS and Sustainability Senior Project,” among others. QUALIFICATIONS A Lecturer must demonstrate expertise and/or experience in a specific academic course subject, academic discipline area, and must have had prior substantive teaching experience and/or experience as a practicing professional at a senior level. PEER ADVOCATE - ASSERTIVE COMMUNITY TREATMENT
Rensselaer, NY
As a Peer Advocate, you will be an ally, mentor, and advocate for clients and families as they contend with the difficulties and uncertainties of mental illness. You will use lived experience to contribute to treatment planning for each participant, and facilitating the team’s development and maintenance of a culture of respect. The Youth Assertive Community Treatment team (ACT) Program is an innovative treatment program. The program serves children with mental illness or serious emotional disturbance and their families. You will report to the Director of Youth Act and work onsite with community-based travel required.
This new employee will be hired under the Youth Peer Advocate title or Family Peer Advocate title. The requirements are as follows:
Youth Peer Advocate:
- As this is a Youth Peer position, grant funding requires that employees hired in this capacity are within 18-30 years of age and have lived experiencewith mental illness or serious emotional disturbance.
- The FPA must possess a credential recognized by the Office of Mental Health and receive specialized training and supervision.
Family Peer Advocate:
- Family Peer Advocates (FPA) are parents or caregivers who are raising or have raised a child with serious mental health concerns and are personally familiar with the associated challenges and available community resources for children and families.
- The YPA must possess (or obtain within the first twelve months of employment,) a credential recognized by the Office of Mental Health and receive specialized training and supervision.
Peer Advocate Responsibilities:
• Engage individuals and establish trusting, collaborative relationships directed toward the goals clients identify on their treatment plans
• Contribute to client treatment plans, advocating for clients' needs
• Participate in daily treatment team meetings and work directly with other team members to provide support and assistance to program participants.
• Provide individual face-to-face support to youth and families receiving services
• Spend 70% or more of scheduled work hours in community settings
• Meet with family, youth, and collateral contacts to provide psychoeducation about serious mental illness
• Be a role model, educate recipients about self-help techniques and self-help group processes, teach effective coping strategies based on personal experience, teach symptom management skills, assist in clarifying rehabilitation and recovery goals, and assist in the development of community support systems and networks.
Requirements and Education:
- High School Diploma or GED, Associates Degree preferred
- A valid New York State driver’s license and must have access to a reliable, insured vehicle and be willing to transport clients in the community if needed.
- Complete and obtain the NYCPS-Provisional certification for review by the New York Peer Specialist Certification Board (NYPSCB) within the agreed-upon time of start date.

Job Summary | The Department of Computer Science at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, in Troy, NY, invites applications from outstanding candidates for multiple tenure-track assistant professor positions in computer science. We are particularly interested in the areas of software, languages, and systems, algorithms and theory, natural language processing, computer vision, quantum computing, and cross-cutting topics. Strong applicants in other areas will also be considered. RPI has invested significant resources into next generation computing and AI, with the launch of the Future of Computing Institute which focuses on new computing paradigms and AI to solve societal challenges. It is the first university in the world to house a 127-qubit IBM System One quantum computer. RPI is also a founding member of the $485M Empire AI initiative in New York State. Minimum Qualifications | Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent in Computer Science or a related area, and they must show evidence of emerging research distinction and a clear interest in graduate and undergraduate education. Successful candidates will have duties that include developing and maintaining robust programs of research and scholarship, teaching graduate and undergraduate courses, and service to the department, to Rensselaer, and to the professional community. |
Starting Salary/Rate | Expected hiring range: $125,000-$135,000 per 9-month academic year Pay transparency disclosure: The selected candidate’s salary will be determined based on factors that include the available budget, internal equity, and the final candidate’s qualifications, experience, education and other job-related credentials. Clinician, Youth ACT
Licensed Social Workers or Mental Health professionals are eligible for $7500 signing bonus!
Work related travel reimbursed at predetermined rates
As a Clinician in the Youth ACT program, you will help children avoid hospitalizations and out-of-home placements by providing intensive, community-based services to these youth and families. The youth served by Youth ACT have not found success in traditional mental health and community treatment. Our Clinicians are part of a tight-knit multi-disciplinary team that meets daily to provide medication treatment, therapy, skill building, and psychoeducational support to youth and families to meet all of their needs. You will report to the Director of Youth ACT and you will work Monday - Friday on-site with required travel to client's home. Some early evening hours may be required to support client needs.
Responsibilities:
- A shared caseload and ample supervision and support to provide intensive services to the 36 youth and families that the team serves overall, meeting the client where they are in the community, rather than in a clinical office setting.
- Specialized training in the Youth ACT model as well as the principles of person-centered planning, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, social determinants of health, cultural competence, implicit bias, and many other best practices.
- A lead role in providing services to clients/families such as:
- Risk Assessment
- Substance Abuse Screen/Assessment
- Suicide Assessment
- Mental Health needs assessment
- Social Needs Screening - Health Leads
- Comprehensive Psychosocial Assessment to include diagnosis and needs to develop a treatment plan (IAP)
- Child and Adolescent Strengths and Needs Assessment
- Close collaboration with collateral providers involved in the lives of the youth and family
- Opportunities to provide holistic care to the youth and family system via individual, group, and family counseling modalities.
- Community-based work, so flexibility in scheduling and opportunity to be out in the community rather than tied to office setting.
Requirements and Education:
- Master's degree is needed in this position.
- NYS professional licensure required: LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LCAT or LMFT - may consider limited permits.
- One year post-graduate experience preferred.
- NYS driver's license as you will be community-based and travel is required.
