Job Description

Position Title: Evening & Weekend Manager on Duty
Reports To: Store Manager 
Location: Timmons Market-747 Timmons Blvd, Rapid City, SD 57703
Schedule: Primarily Fridays & Saturdays, 3:30pm–10:30pm, with opportunities for additional shifts throughout the week

Position Summary

The Evening & Weekend Manager on Duty (MOD) is responsible for overseeing store operations during assigned shifts. This position serves as the acting manager, ensuring excellent customer service, operational efficiency, and compliance with company policies. The MOD provides leadership and support to all store departments, resolves customer concerns, and ensures a safe and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the manager on duty during evening and weekend shifts, assuming full responsibility for store operations.

  • Provide leadership, direction, and support to team members across all departments.

  • Ensure outstanding customer service by assisting customers directly and resolving escalated issues.

  • Monitor store appearance, safety, and cleanliness, addressing any issues promptly.

  • Oversee front-end operations, including cashier performance, customer flow, and service standards.

  • Assist with scheduling adjustments, shift coverage, and employee breaks as needed.

  • Support adherence to company policies, procedures, and operational standards.

  • Respond to emergencies, safety concerns, and incidents in a calm and professional manner.

  • Communicate shift updates, issues, and observations to the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager.

  • Perform closing responsibilities, including securing cash, locking up, and ensuring the store is ready for the next business day.

Qualifications

  • Previous supervisory or management experience preferred, ideally in retail or customer service. 

  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and direct a team.

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.

  • Strong customer service orientation.

  • Must be reliable and able to work evenings, weekends, and occasional additional shifts.

  • Must be at least 21 years old.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. as needed.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.
