The Eye Clinic Surgicenter is located in Billings, MT, and is dedicated to improving the vision of our patients.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Ophthalmic Technician. This position requires a nurse to doctor mentality to prepare the patient to see the doctor. The Ophthalmic Technician will be responsible for performing patient work-ups, visual field testing, OCT testing, visual acuity testing, tonometry, pachymetry, corneal topography, fundus photography, scribing for the physician, and assisting in minor surgeries such as LASIK.

Qualifications

Experience in Optometry, Ophthalmology, or medicine
Skills in scribing for physicians
Experience in patient work-ups
Ability to perform diagnostic testing: visual field testing, OCT testing, visual acuity testing, tonometry, pachymetry, and corneal topography
Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
Strong follow-up skills
Must show empathy and compassion
Self motivated and team oriented
Friendly personality
Familiarity with EMR software
Certification from JCAHPO or willingness to obtain certification (not required but highly encouraged)
Experience in the field or related field is desirable

Hours may vary. 700a-600p M-F. No Weekends (unless special function). Usually a steady 40 hr / week depending on doctors schedules.

Travel to satellite offices (Red Lodge, MT, Thermopolis, WY, Lander, WY) (rotates with other technicians)

EEOC, Drug Screen including Marijuana (as it's federally illeagl) will be done upon hire, COVID vaccine is not required currently for employement (but proof or excemption may be requested for CDC required report).
