Clinician, Juvenile Fire Safety Services
Full-time Licensed Social Workers are eligible for a $7,500 retention bonus!
As a Clinician in the Juvenile Fire Safety Services, you will provide six to nine months of intensive services to families whose children are either at risk of being removed from their homes or are already in placement. Services are provided to families wherein a youth has engaged in unsanctioned fire-related behavior, there is a suspicion that unsanctioned fire-related behavior has occurred/may occur, or where there is concern that the youth exhibits an elevated interest in fire. The goals of the program are to prevent out-of-home placement for troubled children, provide a safe environment to return children already in placement, and prevent future out-of-home placement. Along with detecting youth likely to be involved in unsanctioned fire-related behavior, educating the youth about fire safety, preventing the development of undetected fire-related behaviors, interrupting dangerous behavioral patterns of using fire as a coping mechanism, and replacing dysfunctional patterns with healthy coping skills. You will report to the Program Coordinator and will work a combination of onsite and remote with travel to client's homes required.
Responsibilities:
- Provide home and community-based assessment, to include fire setting pre-assessment screenings and comprehensive fire setting risk assessments, planning and treatment with individuals, groups and families with those enrolled in our Family Preservation services (the level of intensity / number of direct services hours per family is dependent upon the services in which one is employed).
- Facilitate fire safety educational groups (10-week duration divided into latency-age and adolescent groups).
- Skill building to reduce risk of fire setting behavior, which includes anger management, stress management, problem-solving training and coping skills.
- Complete necessary all records and client information following agency, county, and state policy and funding requirements.
- Provide liaison contact with collateral resources such as referring agencies, schools, family court, and other agency personnel serving on behalf of a child and family as it relates to their treatment.
- Responsible for the clinical decisions when assigned and paired to work as a team with another clinician.
- Ensure provisions of regular treatment plan meetings and services plan reviews.
Requirements and Education:
- Requires a Masters degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling or related field.
- Minimum of one year of post-graduate experience.
- License Preferred: LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT.
- Must have a valid drivers license.

As a Clinical Time Transition Program (CTTP) Family Peer Advocate, you will provide support for youth and their families/caregivers transitioning from a hospital setting back to their community. You will work with families, schools, and community resources to promote successful reintegration and long-term stability. You will draw from your personal lived experience to help families navigate the healthcare and social services system, build self-advocacy skills, and access resources to support their child's recover and well-being. You will support parents/caregivers as they develop positive approaches and methods for addressing their family’s daily needs, including their own needs for self-care. You will report to the Director of the Hospital to Home (H2H) Program, and you will be working onsite with community travel.
Responsibilities:
- Offer emotional support, encouragement, and guidance to families and caregivers during the transition process

As a Residential Youth Counselor, you will provide daily therapeutic care and programming according to agency policy and governing bodies' (DSS, OMH, JCAHO, etc.) requirements for elementary aged children.. You will work on-site on our Albany campus and will report to the Residential Supervisor.

As a Registered Nurse, you will provide nursing care and services to a youth and adolescent population with emotional, behavioral and physical needs using the nursing process (assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating). Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of clients aged birth to 65, providing comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and individual and family therapy services to those assigned to caseload.
- Create initial treatment plans, subsequent treatment plan reviews, progress notes for each scheduled appointment, and other documentation/assessments as indicated.
- Collaborate with on-site prescriber, other medical and mental health providers, schools and any other community supports for client care.
- Attend Behavioral Health Center staff meeting twice a month.
- Attend and participate in Supervision; weekly, bi-weekly or monthly based on licensure level or individual needs.
- Provide referrals and linkages to community supports, resources, and services.
Requirements and Education:
- Master's degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counselor.
- Experience in human services, case management, line staff at a residential program, or any other related direct care within human services, both pre and post master degree, will be considered.
- License and/or Limited Permit eligible, have a limited permit in discipline or Fully Licensed (LMHC/LCSW/LCSW-R), preferred.
