The Lake Placid Lodge is looking for a maintenance representative to make our guests feel welcome and ensure their pleasant and comfortable stay at our hotel.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the facilities during all seasons in accordance with the preventive maintenance program.
• Perform electrical work. For example: Replace light switches, Reset circuit breakers, Replace wall plug receptacles, Replace fluorescent light ballast, Replace electrical solenoid valves, Replace small motors
• Perform basic plumbing work. For example: Clear clogged sinks, toilets, garbage disposals and drain lines, Repair or replace valves, Replace washer, gaskets, vacuum breakers, toilet seals,
• Perform Preventive Maintenance work. For example: Monitor and maintain all laundry and dry cleaning equipment, Monitor and maintain all kitchen equipment, Change air-conditioning filters.
• Other related duties as assigned by manager
• Shift is from 7:00AM - 3:30PM

Requirements:

• 1 year previous experience.
• Certification or completion of specialized training program (electrician, plumbing, HVAC, etc.)
• Basic carpentry skills
• Excellent communication skills to adequately interact with clients
• Valid NYS Driver’s License and ability to reliably commute to Lake Placid
• Provide legible communication and directions.
• Working knowledge of:
  • health codes
  • NEC
  • national/local fire codes
  • local mechanical codes
  • blue prints and wiring schematics
  • power and hand tools, meters, etc. as it relates to the technical trades
• Ability to:
  • Interpret manufacturer's literature for installation, preparation, use and maintenance of various materials and products used throughout the property.
  • Be well organized and follow instructions.
  • Focus attention on details.
  • Prioritize tasks and comply with deadlines for work assignments.
  • Be a clear thinker and perform well under pressure work assignments.
  • Work and perform job functions with minimal supervision.
  • Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team
