Residential Assistant Supervisor -

Albany residential has an immediate need for a full-time ResidentialAssistant Supervisor. This position is responsible for supervising direct care staff as well as working as part of the direct care team who collectively provide daily therapeutic care and programming according to agency policy and regulation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervising program activity as related to client treatment plans
• Supervision and evaluation of direct care staff
• Working as part of staff-to-youth ratio and on-call system, mentoring and training staff
• Assisting in crisis intervention as needs
• Other administrative tasks related to running the unit

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Requires an Associate’s degree plus 3 years of experience, Bachelor’s degree preferred, OR high school plus at least 5 years of experience
• Related experience with vulnerable populations/older adolescent population is required
• Must have supervisory experience or demonstrated ability to manage a residential unit
• Must have valid, clean driver’s license
• Ability to work variable shifts required including evenings, weekends and holidays

Description

As a Program Supervisor, you will be responsible for the administrative and programmatic oversight of a Foster Care team. You will oversee staff, the foster families associated with the office and maintain agency resource relationships within the counties the foster care program supports. You will report to the Director of Foster Care and will work onsite.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise multistage foster care treatment teams in areas of intake and ongoing treatment planning for foster youth and foster families.
• Ensure the diligent efforts made to reach permanency of foster children in placement.
• Coordinate the work of a multidisciplinary team comprised of permanency care managers, and clinical and nursing departments to fulfill these goals of permanency, safety, and wellbeing for our children in care.
• Provide regular supervision and complete performance evaluations of program staff such as Permanency Care Managers, Family Support Workers, and Administrative Assistants in the program.
• Work with the Local Department of Social Services to fulfill contracted services.
• Develop and maintain relationships with outside agencies for resources to program.
• Assist in the training and selection of prospective foster parents.
• Assist in ongoing training opportunities for certified foster parents in the program.
• Ensure case records are maintained to the standards of NY OCFS regulations, COA standards as well as agency standards.
• Collaborate with Northern Rivers service departments including finance and human resources.
• Participate in departmental meetings.

Requirements and Education:

• Requires a Bachelor's Degree, with preference for Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or related field.
• At least three to five years of progressively responsible experience.
• Professional licensure preferred, but not required.

English/Language ArtsTeacher

**Sign On Bonus $5,000** (paid in 2 parts 1/2 at 30 days and1/2 at a year)

As an English /Language Arts Teacher, you will develop and implement the English/Language Arts classroom instructional plans for students. You will report to the principle and will work onsite.

Responsibilities:

• Provide subject area instruction (English/Language Arts) that follow the NYS K-12 English/Language Arts curricula and prepares students for exit examinations and statewide assessments.
• Develop and implement English/Language Arts instructional materials to provide individual and small group instruction to students of various ability levels. At the high school level develop lessons, teach, and prepare students for examinations in English/Language Arts.
• Develop and implement a classroom instructional plan with the Special Education Teacher that integrates the students IEP goals and objectives, learning style. as well as accommodations and modifications that are needed.
• Develop and implement with the Special Education Teacher, individual and classroom behavior plans for managing student behavior to maintain discipline in the Classroom; assist classroom staff with crisis prevention and intervention techniques; assist classroom with de-escalation techniques; teach students appropriate behavior strategies.
• Use the classroom PBIS universal plan and Tier 2 and 3 strategies for selected students.
• Manage and coordinate the safety and well-being of students through the use of established classroom and schoolwide processes and procedures; supervise classroom staff implementing these with their work with students throughout the building.
• Follow school and agency procedures and policies for reporting incidents. This includes behavior incident reports as well as incidents such as child/sexual abuse, substance abuse, harassment, bullying, and violence.
• Establish positive relationships with parents and family members to create a partnership around student treatment, student behavior, and academic progress.
• Participate in classroom grade level, and behavioral/treatment meetings as well as professional training and development sessions(e.g. TCI, CPR, emergency procedures and other agency requirements).
• Follow all Agency policies and procedures, along with state and federal regulations pertaining to our school and students.
• Provide leadership to assigned teacher assistants in various clerical and non-instructional duties as need for your classroom.
• Work collaboratively with other teachers, clinicians, administrators, medical staff, and other school staff to provide integrated support, assistance, and treatment to students.

Requirements and Education:

• A Master's degree in Special Education or subject area and the ability to work with students who demonstrate serious emotional and behavioral challenges, ages 6-21. a Bachelor's degree with enrollment in a program that leads to a master's degree may be considered.
• A NYS certification in Special Education or subject area, or enrollment in a program that leads to a NYS teacher certification.
• Must be able to lift 35 pounds

• Provide comprehensive psychiatric services as assigned
• Provide consultation to staff on diagnostic and treatment questions
• Participate in formal and informal training and education to staff
• Prescribe medications, monitor, and review of drug regimen for enrolled individuals
• Participate in quality assurance activities
• Provide clinical expertise, consultation, and technical assistance, cooperate with the County and participate in any quality audit and utilization review ·Provide on-site/community based/home visits medication evaluations and reviews.

• Requires Board Certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
• Must be fully licensed Nurse Practitionerin the State of New York.
