POSITION OVERVIEW
- Provide comprehensive psychiatric services as assigned
- Provide consultation to staff on diagnostic and treatment questions
- Participate in formal and informal training and education to staff
- Prescribe medications, monitor, and review of drug regimen for enrolled individuals
- Participate in quality assurance activities
- Provide clinical expertise, consultation, and technical assistance, cooperate with the County and participate in any quality audit and utilization review ·Provide on-site/community based/home visits medication evaluations and reviews.
- Requires Board Certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
- Must be fully licensed Nurse Practitionerin the State of New York.
- National Provider Identification (NPI) - issued by the federal Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). All electronic prescriptions in NYS require an NPI. Claims processing functions also require the NPI of nurse practitioners and physicians.
- Federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) number– issued by the United States Department of Justice Department DEA to nurse practitioners and physicians to prescribe controlled substances. DEA registration must be renewed every three years for those issued a prescriber registration.
- NYS Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement (NYS DOH BNE) registration – issued by the NYS DOH BNE to nurse practitioners and physicians to prescribe controlled substances. NYS DOH BNE registration must be renewed every two years for those issued a prescriber registration.
- NYS Medicaid Enrollment - in cases in which a Prescriber is prescribing to a NYS Medicaid enrolled client. Revalidation must occur at least every five years.

Camp Nurse
Required Dates of Employment: June 20 – August 20, 2024
Minimum Qualifications and General Information
- Must be a licensed Registered Nurse in New York State
- Must be Wilderness First Aid and CPR certified by approved organization (courses offered on campus June 18-19)
- Must have nursing experience
- Must have experience with children
- Must have a desire to work and live in a camp community
- Each nurse receives one day off per week and 2 other evenings off
- Adirondack Medical Center and Health Center is 7 miles away in Lake Placid
- Camp-aged children (ages 8-14) get full Camp Treetops’ tuition remission, if space is available
Responsibilities
- Responsible for primary care of sick and/or injured campers. This may involve 24-hour care, which you would coordinate with other nursing staff
- Monitor health of staff
- Store and dispense camper medications
- Contact parents when necessary
- Maintain records. Daily charting required.
- Issue and maintain first aid kits
- Participate in specific areas of staff training pertaining to issues of health and safety
- Make appointments, as needed with medical/de personnel in Lake Placid or Saranac Lake
- Coordinate the response to any medical emergency, illness, or outbreak in the camp community
- Monitor and evaluate camp procedures, facilities, and conditions and suggest modifications that would create more healthful conditions in camp
Base salary is $7,000 - $8,000 for above dates. Additional salary is commensurate with experience, as determined by the camp director.
