Bright Ideas by Martinec has been providing the greater Corning area with premier design and high quality remodeling for over 35 years. Our projects range from small bathrooms and simple kitchens to complex multi-room projects. Our full-service focus encompasses the whole project, from initial concepts and product selections to project management and installation.

Primary Function

The Kitchen and Bath Designer is responsible for selling a wide range of remodeling projects and providing excellent, industry-forward designs for those spaces. This position would focus mainly on kitchen and bath designs but really any interior space that our clients may need is in the scope of this position. The Kitchen and Bath Designer creates spaces that are inspiring and perfectly tailored to our clients’ needs and goals, and their budgets!

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as lead Designer and Salesperson on assigned projects.
  • Collaborate with clients to gather project information and develop creative and functional design solutions that meet the clients’ requirements, aesthetic and budget.
  • Able to design/space plan and specify creative solutions to proactively impact the sales process.
  • Foster client relationships through design knowledge, continual support and flawless execution.
  • Provide project management to clients for the duration of their project.
  • Create computer-generated designs and accurate estimates using an estimating program that reflect a thorough knowledge of the building/remodeling process.
  • Perform field measures.
  • Meet project deadlines to provide the client with an efficient experience that keeps the sales process moving forward.

Proficient at executing all phases of the design process including estimating, design, selections, and project management. Drives projects forward with urgency to achieve results.
  • Strategic Problem Solving: Ability to generate new ideas that add value to client projects and to the team.

Minimum Requirements

  • Interior Design or related degree and minimum of 4 years of experience as a lead salesperson and designer.

Desired Requirements

  • Experience specifying and ordering cabinetry
  • Proven sales record
  • Experience using design programs such as Chief Architect, 20/20, CAD

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $41,077.79 - $49,470.02 per year
